Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 359: Chapter 196: A Promising Talent (Third Update)

Justus Spencer’s passionate speech once again ignited the directors’ fervor and hopes.

Even Cameron Spencer couldn’t help but nod.

Indeed, just that ten-year contract with the National Grid is worth the five billion...

Even if the contract yields less than two billion annually, they definitely wouldn’t lose out.

More importantly, they could finally break into this circle.

Cameron Spencer took the lead and applauded.

The other directors, seeing the chairman agree, hurriedly followed suit and clapped.

Justus Spencer tried hard to maintain his composure, but inside he was overjoyed.

This was the first acquisition he had led, and it was finally completed smoothly!

...

After the board unanimously approved the deal, Spring Spencer also secured the loan, a fifteen-year, five-billion low-interest long-term loan, completely alleviating the company’s financial burden.

In his happiness, Cameron Spencer also gave Spring Spencer an extra bonus by allocating some Spencer Group shares to Spring Spencer’s trust fund.

This was more effective than cash.

This time Justus did not feel bitter; he finally felt like an ”heir,” no longer quarreling with Spring Spencer, even feeling a bit of sibling affection.

At this time, Hazel Winchester also brought him good news, saying that Second Madam Ava Harlow agreed to Hazel’s request and had arranged a way. Hazel should give her the personnel list, and she would help get these people out of the country.

Justus quickly called Thomas, asking him to send the personnel list, so he could arrange their overseas departure.

Thomas laughed and said, ”Actually, I’ve already sent most of them away, except the last two are a bit difficult. All you need to do is help send these two out.”

Then he sent the photos and names of these two individuals to Justus.

Justus promptly forwarded them to Hazel Winchester.

Hazel, seeing there were only two people, immediately breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Only two people, the favor wasn’t too big and could be repaid.

For the past two weeks, Justus Spencer had been watching Hazel Winchester’s situation closely, until finally, the day the contract took effect arrived.

Justus, along with his lawyer, accountant, the new CEO of Victory Wise Corporation, the CFO, Thomas, the broker who helped find the acquisition target, and the public relations staff, all headed to Capital City for the final signing ceremony.

This was the day the money would be formally transferred, and they would sign the contract for the final time.

The contract took effect on a Friday.

At nine in the morning, the group gathered at the Wayford Intelligence company.

This company wasn’t far from Kenneth Osborne’s AI Vision Promise, located in the same tech park.

So when Justus and his team arrived in a grand procession of luxury cars at the tech park, Kenneth Osborne was also getting ready to pack up for what would be his first acquisition ceremony.

He had just put the documents into his briefcase when his phone rang unexpectedly.

He picked it up and found it was a call from the long-unseen Francis Johnson.

He quickly answered, smiling, ”Mr. Zhao, what a coincidence?”

”Coincidence? It sure is,” Francis replied somewhat angrily, ”Didn’t I just ask you to stir the pot? How did you end up pulling yourself in?”

He was referring to Kenneth Osborne not ”withdrawing after completing the mission,” and instead becoming a shareholder of Wayford Intelligence.

Kenneth toned down his smile, saying indifferently, ”In business, we talk business, how could you say I pulled myself in? I don’t understand your words, Mr. Zhao.”

Francis sighed, ”I know you’re upset about Joyce Shaw’s matter, but isn’t that enough to warn you? —That group is professional, getting involved means a dead end!”

Kenneth pressed his lips together, ”I don’t think so. From beginning to end, I’ve had no contact with them, and I don’t know anything they do, I can’t see any reason they would target me.”

Francis was momentarily speechless, then after a while, smiled and shook his head, ”You’re talking business, which I don’t really understand. But I will report your situation to a very influential figure in our fund; if any problem arises, he will back you up. —Just don’t do this again, I’ve said many times, you don’t need to clash with them, we are here for that, what you should focus on is developing artificial intelligence well, that’s more important than anything!”

Kenneth, knowing Francis cared for him, nodded with a smile, ”I understand, this time I just wanted to test my capabilities and vision; I can’t always rely on you. You have your work, so don’t waste your precious time on someone undeserving. As for me, I just want to prove I’m worthy.”
