Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 358: Chapter 195: Yuan, You’re So Mischievous (Second Update, Extra for Xin Alliance Hierarch)

”Understood, Mr. Spencer. We’re in this line of work, and I know the importance.” The head of the legal department smiled, ”This is originally a template from our department. As long as it doesn’t violate the law, there should be no issues.”

Justus Spencer nodded with a smile, ”Alright, I’ll leave it to you. I’ll ask my secretary to order dinner, as everyone will be working overtime tonight so that we can finalize the preliminary review before tomorrow’s board meeting.”

Justus Spencer is a workaholic. When his effort is needed, he can work overtime even more than junior employees.

The legal department checked the legal language and reviewed the valuation report provided by the valuation company. They simply commented and stamped it with ”Legal Review Passed” without saying much.

Then it was forwarded to the investment department, instructing them to proceed with the bank loan according to the contract.

This money must be in place on the day it officially takes effect in two weeks and transferred to the shareholders of Wayford Intelligence.

Only after the money is transferred will the contract be officially completed.

The investment department took Wayford Intelligence’s valuation report to apply for a bank loan.

At the same time, the legal department also forwarded the acquisition contract to the finance department.

Spring Spencer is the Chief Financial Officer, and the finance department is also under her management.

She looked at the Wayford Intelligence valuation report and financial statements that came with the acquisition contract and suddenly asked, ”Mr. Spencer, do you have their general ledger details?”

Justus Spencer, eating the medium-rare steak that had just been delivered, replied without looking up, ”...Aren’t their financial statements included in the contract? What more do you need in the general ledger details?”

Spring Spencer thought for a moment and then looked at the valuation report again.

Upon seeing the customer list of Wayford Intelligence valued at four billion, she couldn’t help but exclaim, ”...The customer list of Wayford Intelligence is worth this much? Who’s on it?!”

Justus Spencer, feeling quite proud, said, ”Just having State Grid with a ten-year contract, what do you think?”

Spring Spencer drew a sharp breath, her expression a mix of shock and joy, ”Really?! They truly have a ten-year contract with State Grid?! — That’s valuable! Extremely valuable!”

Everyone knows that having a contract with State Grid means the real value isn’t just in that paper contract, but in the relationships that can be forged over those ten years of cooperation with State Grid!

This is the real deal!

How many bidding projects does State Grid have every year?

Not only Victory Wise Corporation but even the Spencer Group can enjoy many benefits.

Justus Spencer nodded, ”Look at that contract; I got it from Mr. Yan of Wayford Intelligence.”

Spring Spencer pulled out the ten-year contract signed between State Grid and Wayford Intelligence from the pile of documents, read it carefully, and couldn’t help but praise, ”Mr. Spencer, you really scored this time. I initially thought fifty billion was too much, but looking at this contract, fifty billion is a steal.”

”Isn’t it?! I knew you understood me best, my dear sister!” Justus Spencer was pleased with Spring Spencer’s praise, and his attitude improved significantly.

Spring Spencer smiled and said, ”I’ll take this valuation report back to have them prepare the accounts. This is a full acquisition, so accounting will be quite the hassle again.”

Justus Spencer waved his hand, ”Go ahead. You know more about finance than I do; I completely trust you.”

”Thank you for your trust, big brother.” Spring Spencer left Justus Spencer’s office with a smile, returning to her office to have her subordinates work on the financial assessment.

The three departments at Spencer Group headquarters worked through the night, finally completing all the initial evaluations before the board meeting at ten the next morning and handing them to the board members.

Typically, acquisition processes are not this rushed, but because Thomas was determined to acquire Wayford Intelligence, Justus Spencer was also wary of being intercepted by others. He mobilized all available resources, making an expedited process almost seamless.

The next day, as the board meeting discussions began, Spring Spencer was already arranging meetings with the executives of several major banks to discuss loans.

”Ms. Liu, we’re planning to acquire an artificial intelligence company soon, and we’re looking for a fifty-billion loan with a fifteen-year term. Could you estimate the interest rate for us?” Spring Spencer began negotiations with the CEO of the first bank, holding the valuation report.

There are three relatively large banks in Z City that can handle this level of fifty-billion commercial long-term loans.

Spring Spencer did not place herself in a position of pleading but reversed the roles, making the three banks compete for the opportunity to lend.

In simpler terms, she wanted to borrow money while making others willing to lend eagerly to her.

Sure enough, when she mentioned that she would meet with the other two banks’ CEOs, Ms. Liu immediately instructed her subordinates to offer the most favorable interest rate, saying, ”For a fifteen-year long-term loan, this interest rate is the lowest. What do you think, Ms. Spencer? Would you consider our bank?”

Spring Spencer was quite satisfied with this interest rate, but she didn’t want to give Ms. Liu too much leverage. She smiled and said, ”This is indeed a lot. If nothing unexpected happens, we’ll sign with you. However, I’ve already scheduled tea with the other two, and not going would be quite rude. How about this, if you have time, after I meet with the other two CEOs, I’ll treat you to dinner?”

”No problem, no problem! I’ll wait for your good news, Ms. Spencer!” Ms. Liu shook hands with her enthusiastically and watched her leave.

While Spring Spencer was negotiating loans with banks, Justus Spencer was passionately addressing the board meeting.

”Ladies and gentlemen of the board, I hope you can look toward the long-term, rather than constantly fussing over small, immediate gains.”

”Our Spencer Group needs to change, needs to pivot, and needs to find new profit growth points!”

”In the next ten years, what direction can provide us with higher returns? — Other than artificial intelligence, there is no second option!”

”You can observe which sectors have a widespread application of artificial intelligence!”

”State Grid! Autonomous driving! Drones! Also face recognition, voice control... people’s lives are becoming increasingly inseparable from artificial intelligence!”

”And the Wayford Intelligence we’re acquiring has already signed a ten-year contract with State Grid!”

”According to this contract, just the revenue from State Grid each year amounts to one billion!”

”This means that in just five years, we’ll recover our full investment!”
