Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2137: Chapter 2138: Paying Respects (Part 1)

An Jing spoke gently, ”If you don’t have even one child, how sad would he be in his heart? He’s so hoping for you to have children.”

Su Changyi still didn’t say a word.

”Husband?”

”Let’s talk about it later.” He didn’t want to discuss this now. He didn’t want her to have more children, even if Su Haoyu, this father, could accept it, Su Haoyu certainly wouldn’t be happy.

An Jing thought she had only just come to this world not long ago, so she wasn’t in a hurry to have children, and nodded, ”Let’s talk about it later then.”

After a pause, she teased, ”Shall we continue?”

Su Changyi was amused but didn’t continue. He was somewhat out of the mood after her remark. So, he just turned over and leaned against the headboard, then pulled An Jing into his arms, and the two of them watched TV and chatted casually.

As they talked, An Jing mentioned her parents and grandparents, ”This is my original world, and it’s already five years after my soldier body died. I don’t know where my soldier body was buried, but I want to visit and pay respects to my parents and grandparents. Will you come with me?”

”Mm.” Su Changyi didn’t have any objections and thought it was very necessary.

”My parents and grandparents are buried in the cemetery outside the western suburbs of S city. They are from S city. Before I joined the army, Su’s was just a small company, so it’s normal I didn’t know about it. After I joined the army, the original owner of your body slowly made Su’s grow bigger, and because I was in the military camp, I didn’t pay much attention to things in S city. Otherwise, when I met you in the trap in Xiyun, I would definitely find you looked like the modern Su Changyi.”

Su Changyi just held her without speaking. He often listened to her talking like this but never felt tired of it.

”My parents and grandparents loved me very much, so I have to go pay my respects. And you are my husband, the person I love, and someone who has always cared for me. I just want them to meet you. They would surely be very happy to see you.”

Su Changyi still didn’t speak but held her a little tighter.

An Jing looked up and smiled at him, then asked, ”When do you think we should go to pay our respects?”

”You didn’t mention it before, otherwise I would have gone with you the day you were discharged from the hospital. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I know. Let’s go tomorrow then.” After a pause, ”We’ll pay our respects every year from now on.”

”Mm.” Having returned to this world, she naturally would go to her parents’ and grandparents’ graves every year from now on.

...

The next day, Su Changyi accompanied An Jing to the cemetery outside the western suburbs.

An Jing’s grandparents were buried together, and her parents were buried together. The two places were a bit far apart, so An Jing first took Su Changyi to pay respects to her grandparents and then to her parents.

But before they reached her parents’ grave, she saw a woman in a black knee-length skirt and a black veil hat coming face to face. The woman was extremely exquisite, and An Jing recognized her.

As soon as An Jing saw the woman, she was delighted and wanted to call out to her, but before she spoke, she realized that she was now Lin Anjing and was no longer An Jing. An Jing had died five years ago. So, she didn’t make a sound and let the woman pass by her.

It wasn’t until the woman walked away that An Jing turned back to look at her again. Her eyes were filled with memories of the past.

”Do you know her?” Su Changyi asked softly.

An Jing nodded, and then, as she continued walking with Su Changyi, she said in a low voice, ”Her name is Li Wutong.”
