Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2110: Chapter 2111: Adapting to Modern Life (Part 6)

She also asked the housekeeper, ”Uncle Housekeeper, do you not have any maidservants here? You could have a maidservant prepare for me. If there are no maidservants, having an eunuch prepare would also be fine. But whatever you do, don’t let a regular man prepare for me, for I am still an unmarried girl.”

The housekeeper was speechless, but still said, ”There are no women servants here, only male servants, and none of the male servants are... eunuchs.”

The last two words were spoken in a very quiet voice by the housekeeper.

An Baobei thought the servants the housekeeper mentioned should be similar to the maidservants and slaves back where she was from, so she said, ”If there are no female servants, just get a female servant then. If that doesn’t work, finding an eunuch would do.”

”...” The housekeeper was silent for a long time before he said, ”Miss An, this is modern times, not ancient times, there are no eunuchs, I can’t find any. As for the matter of female servants, the master hates women and strictly prohibits women from appearing in this villa.”

So there are no eunuchs in modern times, An Baobei understood, but when she heard the housekeeper’s last sentence, she didn’t understand again: ”Why does Ning Zihan hate women? But aren’t I a woman myself? I haven’t seen him hate me.”

The housekeeper was speechless.

The young master of their family wanted to throw her out at first, which clearly showed their young master hated her, but she seemed to have forgotten this matter...

The housekeeper wanted to say why Ning Zihan hated women, but he had just opened his mouth and hadn’t finished speaking when Ning Zihan sternly interrupted him.

”Housekeeper, are you idle with nothing to do?”

The housekeeper quickly slipped away to prepare clean clothes for An Baobei.

An Baobei pouted and looked at Ning Zihan, somewhat dissatisfied: ”Why won’t you let him speak?”

Ning Zihan just snorted but said nothing.

An Baobei felt she must have really touched on Ning Zihan’s sore spot, so she didn’t ask any more. Instead, she said, ”I’m going back to my room, you should rest early.”

Ning Zihan didn’t say anything, just lay back down again, and because there was a servant changing the lock, he didn’t close his eyes.

As soon as the servant finished changing the lock, Liang Youxu urgently arrived.

It wasn’t until the servant changing the lock left that Liang Youxu closed the door and reported to Ning Zihan: ”President, I have already reviewed the surveillance footage from when you left your room this morning until you returned tonight, and besides the servants cleaning your room at nine o’clock, no one went in or out of your room.”

In other words, An Baobei appeared out of thin air.

Ning Zihan squinted slightly.

After waiting a while and seeing that Ning Zihan still didn’t speak, Liang Youxu spoke again: ”President, her appearance is kind of mysterious, and she seems mentally very unstable. I think it would be better if we report this to the police.”

Upon hearing about reporting to the police, Ning Zihan’s face turned cold again with defiance: ”Liang Youxu, if you talk any more about calling the police, just go home and eat yourself!”

Liang Youxu couldn’t believe it. Was their esteemed president actually protecting that eccentric person? Even letting him go home and eat himself?

But Liang Youxu still said, ”From now on, I won’t speak unnecessarily anymore, I will follow the president’s intentions. Since the president wants me to investigate which mental hospital she came from, I’ll start checking on that from tomorrow.”

Ning Zihan didn’t respond and just closed his eyes.

Seeing Ning Zihan about to sleep, Liang Youxu opened the door, ready to leave Ning Zihan’s room, but as soon as he opened the door, he saw the door of the next room also open. Out came An Baobei carrying a pile of clothes, who then quickly bypassed him and entered Ning Zihan’s room.
