Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2131: Chapter 2132: We’re Not Afraid (3)

Seeing An Jing so determined, Su Changyi relented but couldn’t help but remind her, ”If anything happens, call me. You must.”

An Jingxin sweetly replied, ”Uh-huh.”

The Lin family in S city wasn’t well-off, but not the worst either, just a very, very ordinary family. Naturally, the community they lived in wasn’t high-end, just very ordinary and somewhat old.

The Lin family lived on the fourth floor of a certain building in the community. An Jing took out the key, opened the door, and as she entered, she saw Lin Jiecheng and Wu Meifeng lazily cracking sunflower seeds while watching TV in the living room.

Sunflower seed shells were strewn all over the floor.

Looking around, the house was very messy, as if it hadn’t been cleaned for days.

Today was a workday, so Lin Anrou, An Jing’s younger sister, was not at home.

When Lin Jiecheng and Wu Meifeng saw An Jing, they were initially stunned. Then Wu Meifeng, the stepmother, started bossing around, ”Hurry up and clean the house! Look at how messy it is! It’s not like a home at all! All you do is be lazy and not come home, just to avoid doing these chores!”

As she spoke, Wu Meifeng turned to Lin Jiecheng and said, ”Old Lin, I think your daughter’s getting bold, not caring if I live or die. Well, I’m not her biological mother anyway, but you’re her real father. She hasn’t come home for more than half a month to check on you. If you died, she wouldn’t even know!”

Lin Jiecheng picked up a slipper and threw it at An Jing, cursing, ”You stubborn girl, does it really take that long to stay in the hospital? Now you decide to come back!”

An Jing dodged the slipper with a sidestep, and with a smile, she said, ”Oh, you knew I was hospitalized? The moment the hospital asked you to pay the bill, you disappeared and didn’t even answer their calls. I thought you didn’t know.”

Lin Anjing had always never fought back when beaten or answered back when scolded. She never talked back, so both Lin Jiecheng and Wu Meifeng were taken aback by An Jing’s words.

Immediately, Wu Meifeng, unable to keep face, started scolding, ”What kind of attitude is this? You—”

”What kind of attitude?” An Jing interrupted her, the smile on her face growing wider. ”Before questioning my attitude, you should ask yourselves what attitude you’ve shown. I’ve worked hard for this family for so many years, and what did I get in return? I lay in the hospital with no one to care for me and not a penny for my medical fees. If the hospital, lacking conscience, had kicked me out, I’d already be dead on the streets!” In reality, Lin Anjing had already died.

”And Lin Anrou pushed me down the stairs, leaving me hospital-bound for half a month. I didn’t report her to the police. I’ve already done enough for this family. From now on, I’m cutting ties with you.”

In an instant, Lin Jiecheng stood up in anger.

”You ungrateful girl, daring to defy your father—you must be tired of living! Cutting ties, huh? I’ll beat you to death and see how you think you can cut ties! Spare the rod and you spoil the child!” Lin Jiecheng charged at An Jing with a feather duster, aiming to beat her as harshly as he had done before.

There was no way An Jing would let them beat her. She grabbed Lin Jiecheng’s wrist that was holding the feather duster and twisted it, making his face contort with pain. At the same time, she raised her foot and kicked him in the stomach.

Lin Jiecheng immediately doubled over in pain, clutching his stomach.

”I said, from now on, I’m cutting ties with both of you.” An Jing, exuding a powerful aura, snatched the feather duster from Lin Jiecheng’s hand.

”Old Lin!” Wu Meifeng was frightened, and with clawing hands, she tried to rush at An Jing.
