Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2108: Chapter 2109: Adapting to Modern Life (4)

”Housekeeper,” Ning Zihan called softly.

The housekeeper immediately broke out in cold sweat and made a gesture of invitation: ”Miss An, please follow me, I’ll take you to the next room to stay.”

An Baobei arrived at the next room, although it wasn’t as large as Ning Zihan’s room, the decor was extremely luxurious. However, the cold tones made her feel rather depressed.

Upon entering the room, An Baobei asked, ”Can it be painted pink? The color here makes me feel bad.”

The housekeeper immediately said, ”We’ll do it tomorrow.” The young master had entirely implied to cater to this lunatic, and he naturally wasn’t an exception.

”What is this?” An Baobei pointed at the television embedded in the wall.

”Television.”

”What’s a television?”

The housekeeper couldn’t explain clearly, so he simply picked up the remote and turned on the television.

Seeing people inside the television, An Baobei was startled, ”How did you manage to cram people inside?!”

The housekeeper was speechless, ”This is an image captured using a technology, there aren’t actually real people inside.”

An Baobei wanted here is the modern day, many years after the ancient age, so the technology should be advanced. She nodded and didn’t talk about the television anymore, instead asked, ”Where’s your bathroom?”

The housekeeper walked to the bathroom door and opened it, ”This is the place to take a shower.”

An Baobei walked over and took a look, asking one by one what the things in the bathroom were, but she didn’t ask the housekeeper to teach her how to use them.

Once she got roughly familiar with the room, she told the housekeeper to leave. Then, she went to knock on Ning Zihan’s door.

Ning Zihan was about to sleep, heard the knocking, but didn’t respond and simply lay on the bed.

Because the room was soundproof, An Baobei called Ning Zihan outside, but Ning Zihan couldn’t hear.

”Ning Zihan! Ning Zihan! Ning Zihan!” An Baobei shouted several times, seeing Ning Zihan not responding, she straightforwardly put her hand on the doorknob, trying to turn it open but couldn’t get it to unlock.

”Could the lock be broken?” An Baobei muttered. Thinking the lock was broken, it surely needed replacing, so An Baobei lifted her foot and kicked, the door was kicked open with a bang.

She applied too much force, and the door slammed heavily against the wall inside.

Ning Zihan, who was lying on the bed and about to pull up the quilt to cover himself: ”...”

”What are you doing?” These words, Ning Zihan squeezed out one by one through gritted teeth.

”Wasn’t the lock broken? I could only kick it open to come in and find you.”

”The lock was just replaced, how could it be broken so soon.” Again, squeezed out from gritted teeth.

”Not broken? But I couldn’t turn it open.”

”I engaged the safety lock from inside, kind of like the function of an ancient latch.”

”This...” An Baobei was embarrassed, her voice lowered, ”What do I do now? I kicked it open...”

”...”

”Ning Zihan?”

”...”

”Ning Zihan, why aren’t you saying anything? Are you angry? My Jade Pendant is really valuable, I can compensate for the lock, can it be counted in? Don’t be mad, I really didn’t do it on purpose, I just wanted to come in to find you, and you were clearly inside but didn’t respond to my calls, I even called you so many times.” Saying that, she complained softly.

Ning Zihan suppressed the urge to kill with great effort and said faintly, ”The room is soundproof, I didn’t hear you calling me.” Paused, ”But I could hear the knocking.”

”You heard the knocking but you didn’t open the door?”
