Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1749: Chapter 1750: Ulterior Motives

Xiao Changyi said coldly, ”You’ve grown up, your wings have hardened, haven’t they?” He didn’t even bother to tell his father before he acknowledged Gong Juechen as his mentor! His son isn’t even nine yet!

Thankfully, it was Gong Juechen he acknowledged as his mentor. What if it had been someone bad? Would his son even still be standing here?

”Daddy, I didn’t! I just want to learn! I just want to study medicine, not do something bad. Why don’t you agree? I don’t understand!” Su Yixing rarely raised his voice to express his dissatisfaction.

Xiao Changyi remained silent.

An Jing pulled Su Yixing over in front of her and gently said, ”It’s not that your daddy doesn’t want you to study medicine; it’s just that he can’t bear the thought of you leaving home, leaving us. Also, you’re not even nine yet, and acknowledging a mentor is such a big deal. You should have consulted us first. What if you had acknowledged a bad person as your mentor?”

Su Yixing said, ”Daddy and Mom have a good relationship with Uncle Juechen. Didn’t Uncle Juechen even take care of us before? I thought of Uncle Juechen as family, so there’s no need to be cautious. That’s why I didn’t tell you before acknowledging Uncle Juechen as my mentor. Are you saying Uncle Juechen is a bad person?”

”Of course, your Uncle Juechen isn’t a bad person! I said what I did because both your daddy and I worry about that possibility. It doesn’t mean we’re saying your Uncle Juechen is bad. Alright, alright, let us think this over. You suddenly want to leave us to study medicine, and we don’t know when you’d come back, so give your daddy and me some time to accept this, okay? After all, we are your parents who raised you, right?”

”Mmm!” Su Yixing finally smiled. ”So, Daddy and Mom, you have to think it over quickly, okay!”

”Mm.” An Jing smiled as she gently patted Su Yixing’s head, then let Jing Xingqingyun take the three beautiful babies to play in the next room.

The attendants also withdrew.

For a while, only An Jing and Xiao Changyi were left in the room.

”Husband, Star is becoming more and more determined. Looking at him like that, he seems bound to go.” An Jing sighed deeply.

She still trusts Gong Juechen a lot. Even if Gong Juechen surely has some plan for her child, he definitely wouldn’t harm her child, so she’s not worried about his safety. She just can’t bear for her child to leave.

Xiao Changyi also sighed, ”The children have truly grown up.”

An Jing couldn’t help but chuckle, ”When they were three, you already said they had grown up. Now look, they’re really grown up and about to leave us. Feeling a bit down?”

Xiao Changyi indeed nodded. He really did feel down. Even though he knew the kids couldn’t stay by him and his wife forever. But he didn’t expect this day to come so soon.

An Jing also felt down. After a long silence, she asked, ”Husband, then what do you think we should do? Agree? Or not agree?”

Xiao Changyi said, ”I don’t want to agree, but he already said that even if I forbid it, he would sneak off anyway. Don’t underestimate him; he really is determined to do what he says.” After pausing, he sighed again, ”Let him go then.”

Even if she couldn’t bear it, An Jing nodded in agreement.

”However,” Xiao Changyi spoke again, ”before we inform Star of our agreement, we need to have a thorough discussion with Gong Juechen. His intention in accepting Star as a student and taking him to Slayer Tower surely isn’t simple.”
