Chapter 1723: Chapter 1724: The More Normal, The More It Means Abnormal

Xiao Changyi glanced at Su Chengyu but said nothing.

An Jing smiled and said, ”I’m not worried that he will go crazy, I’m just afraid he will lose more weight. Look at him now, he doesn’t look healthy at all.”

Su Chengyu agreed, ”For over half a year, Brother Yi has indeed lost quite a bit of weight. Now that Sister-in-law is back, you need to keep an eye on Brother Yi and make sure he eats well. Seeing him so thin makes me feel uncomfortable as his younger brother.”

An Jing said, ”I would like him to eat well, but his appetite is particularly small right now. I don’t know what’s going on. Later, I’ll call Gong Juechen to have a proper look at him.”

Su Chengyu agreed even more, ”It’s good to take a look, just in case there’s an illness, that would be a problem.”

An Jing said, ”That’s what I think too.”

Xiao Changyi still said nothing.

”Brother Yi’s sister-in-law, you should rest well. You must be tired from the journey back. I came just to see you, and now that I’m reassured, I’ll be heading back.” Su Chengyu sensibly took his leave.

Once they couldn’t see Su Chengyu anymore, An Jing said to Xiao Changyi, ”He seems quite normal. Even when I mentioned Gong Juechen just now, he was still very calm. Husband, you can ease your mind. He will keep his word.”

Xiao Changyi looked in the direction Su Chengyu had left and said, ”The more normal he seems, the more it indicates he’s not normal.”

An Jing instantly understood and nodded, ”That’s true. Dongqing was actually taken down by masked men. Such a big event, and the entire populace of Dongqing knows about it. Qi Tengfei should have written to inform him, but he didn’t even ask us, nor did he mention it.”

After a moment of silence, Xiao Changyi analyzed, ”Either he is more wary of Gong Juechen and has distanced himself from us, or something happened between him and Gong Juechen that we don’t know, which is causing him to act this way.”

An Jing sighed, ”Let’s not overthink it. You should visit the palace another day and talk openly with him. I don’t like this current situation; it feels like palace intrigue. He’s our brother, and I don’t want us to drift apart before he does.”

”Mm.” He also felt that speaking frankly without overanalyzing was better.

”Jingjing, Changyi.” Suddenly, Gong Juechen’s loud voice rang out, and shortly after, An Jing and Xiao Changyi saw him, dressed in a dark red robe with wide sleeves, running in with a playful smile.

Su Chengyu had just left, and Gong Juechen arrived...

An Jing didn’t mention Su Chengyu’s recent departure but anxiously said, ”Keep your voice down, Qi’er and the others are sleeping.”

Gong Juechen lowered his voice but still smiled playfully, ”They finally got tired of playing. They sleep much less than my Lele. Lele wants to sleep whenever there’s no one to talk to her. Right now, she’s sleeping soundly in my room, but even asleep she’s holding onto Zhizhi’s sleeve, so Zhizhi can’t leave. Zhizhi was afraid you were waiting, so she asked me to come and tell you. Once Lele wakes up, she’ll bring her over to talk to you.”

”Got it, have her take care of Lele first. Oh, you’re just in time. Can you look at my husband? He’s so thin he’s barely recognizable, I’m worried there’s something wrong with his health.”

Gong Juechen also felt that Xiao Changyi’s thinness was quite extreme, so he walked over to Xiao Changyi, ”Haven’t you had other doctors look at him?”
