Chapter 1746: Chapter 1747: I Would’ve Forgotten If You Hadn’t Brought It Up

Old man, did you see it in the sky? Chengyu and Chenglin can each be well now on their own, it should not change anymore, they will continue to be fine, you can rest assured.

Xiao Changyi said in his heart to his adopted father Su Haoyu who had already passed away.

Ye Zhi and Gong Juechen had lunch at the mansion of the King of Xiyun. After lunch, they stayed until almost evening before preparing to go home.

And before going home, Gong Juechen jokingly asked Xiao Changyi, ”If I still choose to continue committing evil, would you really kill me?”

Xiao Changyi did not answer, but countered, ”Yesterday, when you fought me, did you really want to kill me?”

Yesterday, Gong Juechen fought Xiao Changyi and he really wanted to kill Xiao Changyi, while Xiao Changyi was provoked and truly wanted to kill Gong Juechen as well. But wanting is one thing, whether you can actually bring yourself to kill the other is another.

Both knew full well.

Both also did not say anything further.

Gong Juechen knowingly smiled and patted Xiao Changyi’s shoulder before walking out of the main courtyard together with Ye Zhi, who was holding Gong Le, and then left the mansion of the King of Xiyun.

As soon as they left the mansion, they encountered Jing Xingqingyun coming back from studying at the palace.

The four had previously taken a carriage to study, but ever since Jing, Star, and Qing learned to ride horses, they no longer took a carriage, choosing to ride horses instead. As for An Yiyun, who had not learned to ride yet, she shared a horse with Su Yi Jing, carried by Su Yi Jing to study.

Su Yixing, upon seeing Gong Juechen, was especially happy and after dismounting his horse, ran towards Gong Juechen, shouting, ”Uncle, you promised to teach me medical skills, when will you teach me?”

”You didn’t remind me and I forgot about this,” Gong Juechen had truly forgotten. However, he hadn’t forgotten that he was very fond of Su Yixing. The reason was simple, Su Yixing had sharp eyes and could instantly tell which thing was valuable.

”How could you!” Su Yixing was displeased. ”You clearly promised me! You’re supposed to be an elder, yet you forgot your promise, too much!”

”Alright, alright, don’t be upset,” Gong Juechen laughed as he ruffled his hair, ”I had remembered before, just been a bit busy these few days and forgot. Besides, I promised you during the New Year, and the year has just recently ended.”

Ye Zhi laughed, ”Star, why do you want to learn medicine from your uncle?”

Su Yixing replied, ”Uncle says as long as my medical skills are excellent and no one can match me, then I can earn a lot of money, and maybe get lots of treasures. Like him, every time he treats someone, he charges them heavily.”

”...” Ye Zhi silently looked at Gong Juechen.

Gong Juechen immediately justified confidently, ”Zhizhi, that’s exactly how I treat people, I didn’t deceive Xingxing, I was just being honest.”

Ye Zhi: ”...” Why do I feel there’s something harmful in your honesty?

Su Yixing, however, ignored the interaction between Ye Zhi and Gong Juechen, he merely asked Gong Juechen, ”Uncle, now that I’ve reminded you, when exactly will you teach me? My little private treasury key is with older brother, who might use the things inside, I can’t let my treasury slowly empty, I must learn medicine, become the best, earn lots of Silver, and fill it with treasures.”

Gong Juechen really wanted to say, then aren’t you just helping your older brother make money? You earn it, and your brother uses it. But he didn’t say this, instead he replied, ”Probably won’t be able to teach, in a few days I will be taking Lele back to the old home with your aunt and will be living there permanently in the future.”
