The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1477: Chapter 583: Blocked and Weak in the Knees

”I don’t really like trouble, but I really do need to buy some new clothes and daily necessities.”

Zhou Wang yawned, smiled lightly, and said, ”Usually it’s my secretary and assistant who help me with this kind of thing, so I was thinking... could you act as my shopping guide and help me buy some stuff?”

”Ah, I...”

Cui Min’er hadn’t expected Zhou Wang to suddenly make such a request, and for a moment she didn’t know what to do.

”I trust your taste. You pick, I make the final call. I figured if we split the work, we’d be more efficient. What do you think?”

Cui Min’er’s heart skipped a beat.

Mostly because of that ”I trust your taste” from Zhou Wang.

If she remembered correctly, this seemed to be the first time since she’d met Zhou Wang that she’d ever heard words of praise from his mouth.

Cui Min’er’s cheeks flushed slightly; she even felt a little excited.

And this was helping Zhou Wang pick out clothes!

They weren’t alone right now either. In the store there were still Shen Yutong, Su Yajing, and Yu Duo; in terms of closeness, each of those three girls had a better relationship with Zhou Wang than she did.

Yet of all people, Zhou Wang had come to her...

That made his praise feel even more genuine, and it also made Cui Min’er, who had long been looking for a breakthrough in their relationship, sense that an opportunity had arrived.

So after the initial excitement, she nodded like a pecking chick. ”Of course I can... I mean, if you think I can be of help, but... but I’m worried I won’t do a good job and you’ll be disappointed...”

Cui Min’er was more or less talking incoherently, and even her Chinese suddenly became less fluent.

Zhou Wang chuckled. ”I believe in you.”

”Th-then okay, I’ll do my best!”

Cui Min’er clenched her small fists and said it very solemnly.

Normally a polished, cool older-sister type, she now looked quite a bit cute.

”Don’t worry, I won’t let you help for nothing either...”

”Ah, I don’t need any kind of reward!”

Before Zhou Wang could finish, Cui Min’er hurriedly waved her hands.

”How could that be?”

Zhou Wang cut her off without giving her a chance to argue. ”I’m a businessman. I prefer fair trade. If you put in effort, you should get something in return. Otherwise, if word gets out, what will people think of me? I, Zhou Wang, would never do something so embarrassing!”

As soon as she heard that Zhou Wang was bringing up his pride and face, Cui Min’er couldn’t really refuse anymore. She was just about to say something when Zhou Wang went on:

”How about this— as a reward, all of your spending here today will be on me. How does that sound?”

”Ah, th-this...”

For a moment, Cui Min’er was at a loss for words; she only subconsciously swept her gaze over the long street lined with glittering luxury brands.

All of the... spending here?

Her mouth went dry; she also felt she should refuse... but she just couldn’t get that word ”no” out.

Put any normal woman here, and she probably wouldn’t be able to refuse this offer.

This was Harbour City!

It wasn’t just the biggest shopping mall on Hong Kong Island; even looking at all of Asia, there were very few places that could surpass it.

What’s more, Cui Min’er was more vain and realistic than the average girl; if not, she wouldn’t have agreed to Oppa Yu Bin’s proposal back then just because of his family background.

There hadn’t even been any emotional foundation between them.

”Don’t agonize over it, it’s settled... So, shall we start with this Hermes?”

At this point Zhou Wang glanced at his watch, deliberately letting a hint of impatience show.

Cui Min’er nodded repeatedly, hurriedly smoothed her hair, checked her makeup, and then quickly stepped into the store.

Zhou Wang strolled in behind her, unhurried, his gaze meaningful as he watched Cui Min’er’s hurried back.

He hadn’t asked Cui Min’er for help on a whim.

His praise of her was genuine.

Though Cui Min’er did have some rather obvious flaws, the way she managed her appearance and the level of refinement in her daily life put her easily in the top five among the women Zhou Wang knew.

In this regard, it could only be said that Huaxia had gotten a later start; when it came to fashion sense, women from Korea really did have a natural edge.

But that still wasn’t the main reason Zhou Wang made this suggestion.

After all, Cui Min’er had a good sense of style, but in that area, Su Yajing and Yu Duo weren’t weak either.

Under normal circumstances, Zhou Wang would definitely have picked one of those two women of his...

The fundamental reason he had Cui Min’er step in was actually because of some things she’d done back at Caprice Restaurant that Zhou Wang thought were pretty good.

If she had chosen to speak up for those two so-called best friends of hers, or in the end, for whatever reason, if she had run after the two of them, Zhou Wang would have directly sentenced her to death in his heart.

Whether you like or dislike someone often happens in an instant.

Previously, Zhou Wang really hadn’t liked Cui Min’er much, you could even say he’d been a little repulsed by her.

But during this trip together, his impression of Cui Min’er had changed quite a bit. Back at the restaurant just now, whatever she was actually thinking, what she showed was that she’d chosen to stand on Zhou Wang’s side.

Since that was the case, Zhou Wang was never a petty person.

This ”all shopping reimbursed” privilege tonight was his reward for Cui Min’er.

Ahem... and maybe also, in a small way, because he had, after all, seen all of Cui Min’er’s body—consider it the tiniest bit of compensation.

Of course, Zhou Wang, who habitually spared others’ feelings, had given her a very proper reason... though even if Cui Min’er knew what he was really thinking, she might not actually mind.
