Pillar of Yita

ZXC stared at the construct resting on the ground not far away, its silver and intricately streamlined shell along with three-down claw devices quietly immersed in darkness, just like everything about this world’s magic guided conductors, possessing a certain special, exotic mechanical aesthetic.

Although theoretically this was a ’Clockwork Fairy’, he had never seen this style before—ZXC knew something about ’variant constructs’ discussed by Alchemists, but as different fields are like separate mountains, all he knew was just some unfamiliar and distant concepts under this name.

Some sounds came from the darkness, someone was walking back from that side.

One person opened their mouth, saying: ”It’s empty behind that wall.”

ZXC looked over with some surprise, those people had gone to find the ’wine cellar’ Fang Hong mentioned earlier, but he did not expect it to happen so smoothly.

With a tone of confirmation, he asked: ”Found it so easily?”

”Just a hidden wine cellar, no need to hide it that deep, right?”

”Have you opened it then?” ZXC asked.

”Thinking of a way right now.”

The person expressed that the place wasn’t so easy to open.

ZXC looked at the Clockwork Fairy Fang Hong left behind, hesitating whether to wait for definite news to inform or contact the other party now. But at this moment, the Clockwork Fairy on the ground suddenly moved by itself, slowly ascending, turning around, and then confirmed the location of ZXC and others.

The crystal lens of the construct emitted a low hum, turned towards this direction, and the next moment, Fang Hong’s voice resonated with a synthetic sound: ”Everyone, I’m back, prepare yourselves, I’m coming in shortly.”

ZXC was stunned for a moment, just about to ask if any cooperation was needed, the next moment, a ’creak’ sound came from the front as the door opened, a beam of light lit up there, Fang Hong walked out openly—still carrying an unconscious guard in one hand, he glanced at everyone and then bent down to put him down, turning around to walk out again.

After a while, the other party dragged another guard inside, placing the two side by side, leaving everyone dumbfounded. ZXC was also stunned for a moment before reacting, those guards were on par with them, but for the big boss, naturally not a big deal.

Fang Hong ordered the Energy Angel to slice off the lock on the second door with one swing, as the door was opened, ZXC hurried up, immediately saying: ”We found the wine cellar.”

”Let’s not talk about that first.”

Fang Hong shook his head, let two Energy Angels carry the magic guided reactors he retrieved forward, taking down Luo Hao’s one, then said to everyone: ”These are your magic guided reactors, I helped retrieve them, but not sure specifically whose they belong to, first distribute them according to the reactor’s profession.”

He turned back to glance at the two guards lying on the ground: ”The guards have weapons, longsword and shield. The longsword is a standard magic guided conductor, those who can use swords among you should make do for now. The shield is just regular equipment, but it’s better than nothing, those without weapons can take it.”

Everyone was a bit surprised receiving the magic guided reactors and passed them one by one, they didn’t expect Fang Hong to say his plan needed preparation, turned out it was for this.

But only ZXC sensed something, asked in a low voice: ”These things should be placed not far, right?”

”Not far,” Fang Hong shook his head: ”In a while, I’ll take you over.”

ZXC then slightly breathed a sigh of relief—

This swordsman from the Shield of Lufu actually also heard about some legendary adventures, but the reason why legends are called legends is because they didn’t happen to oneself, the kind of legend staying in imagination versus the reality of adventure still has a vast difference.

He was also an Invoker, hence more aware of this point, even in ordinary adventures one would encounter countless unexpected headaches. Not to mention, moving freely under tight surveillance in the enemy’s base camp, entering deep within, casually retrieving their equipment such as these things.

If not for countless classic instances left behind by top Invokers and guilds in the Second World, he wouldn’t even believe such adventure experiences existed. But that’s top experts after all, the big boss apparently hadn’t reached that level in his eyes, even if showcasing impressive performance in the battle of Fanric, but those living in legends and people near in front differ fundamentally.

Isn’t it?

Fang Hong also didn’t think much, just took out the notebook and handed it over: ”This is my plan, this fortress is divided into three regions, Wu Xiaopang and the others are respectively detained in two underground prisons in the outer region. I marked the locations on the map, I plan to split into two groups to rescue these people, aiming for a quick battle, striving for more time before the enemy reacts.”

ZXC nodded unconsciously, taking over the notebook.

Fang Hong saw ZXC flipping the notebook, added: ”Where the enemy has guarding power and rough patrol routes, I also marked them. There’re more guards on Wu Xiaopang’s side, I’ll handle them, the other side is up to you, avoid initiating combat if possible, even if unavoidable, it’s best to use a surprise attack.”

”In short, the later the enemy discovers, the more time we have.”

He paused and asked: ”How is it, confident?”

But ZXC silently stared at the map’s division of three ’regions’, feeling an overwhelming sense of wrongness, he remained silent for a long time before turning the atlas towards Fang Hong asking: ”Wait, this place is where others are detained?”
