Pillar of Yita

Maybe to them, death isn’t as fatal as imagined; but Fang Hong didn’t tell them, dying here might be more deadly than they think. He recalled that silver-white box.

At this moment, the guards are rushing in this direction, but they are ultimately not as high-level as the Arcanists, barely around Level 20 at most. They are strength-type heavy armored warriors, wearing chainmail under their robes and holding long-handled weapons, so their speed is merely average in Fang Hong’s eyes.

Without a second thought, Fang Hong threw two Fire Giants in that direction. Amidst the violent explosion, the Holy Temple Knight staggered.

The three people behind were curious about what Fang Hong threw to cause such a violent explosion and wanted to look back, but they heard Fang Hong’s serious voice: ”Don’t look back, run!”

Thus, Little Fatty hurriedly turned back, and with the other two, obediently scrambled out of the hole using both hands and feet.

Fang Hong quickly rolled away, dodging a purple light bullet flying in mid-air, which hit the ground and kicked up a cloud of dust. He heard the chanting of the Arcanists, making his scalp tingle a bit, and seeing that Little Fatty and others had left, he quickly turned to leave.

But as he turned, a voice came from behind: ”Who are you, haven’t I seen you before?”

It was the leading Magician’s voice.

Fang Hong was taken aback. With the smoke and dust around them, it was impossible to see each other’s appearances. But he understood that the leader of the Arcanists must have recognized his voice, as they had had dealings at the Tansnier Crafting Association not long ago.

However, he wasn’t foolish enough to stay and explain to the other side. He simply closed his mouth and crawled out through the hole.

Outside the cave, Little Fatty and the other two were waiting for him. Fang Hong gestured to them - Luo Yu’s spell lasted for one hour, and since they entered this place, it clearly hadn’t been that long. The spell’s effect had weakened a lot but was still there: ”Split up and run.”

”The mission is over. We’ll regroup outside. Inform the others along the way. I’ll distract these Arcanists.”

As an ’experienced’ adventurer, Little Fatty did not ask why and simply turned to run in another direction. The three of them quickly disappeared into the mist.

Fang Hong stayed behind. He feigned blocking the Hall Guard Knight of the Eye of Revelation, knowing those Arcanists wouldn’t dare approach. Thus, he had some time. He thought for a moment, took out a Mirrorer, found a spot and set it there, then simulated a figure.

As for the appearance, he certainly couldn’t use his own. After a moment’s thought, he decided to use the short Arcanist he had seen before.

Setting up the Mirrorer took only a few seconds. He placed the Construct on the ground, and then immediately fled in the opposite direction from where Little Fatty and the others went. His goal was to return to the hall similar to a stepped lecture room, where all his Mares Knights were left due to splitting up to investigate.

With twelve Mares Knights, he had confidence to fight these Arcanists, at least to hold them off wouldn’t be a problem.

But Fang Hong hadn’t expected that as soon as he took a step, a cold voice suddenly came from the side filled with smoke and dust:

”Who taught you that spell?”

The voice was so close as if the speaker was right behind him, nearly scaring Fang Hong out of his wits. He turned to see and realize that at some point, an Arcanist was standing next to him—he recognized the other as an Arcanist due to the purple robe he wore.

But the robe was unique. Regular Arcanist robes had a purple base color with a silver eye pattern on the chest, but this person’s robe not only had those features but also was covered with silver stars of various sizes, resembling a deep, twinkling night sky.

The person also did not wear a hood like the others, having taken it off to reveal a head as bald as Little Fatty’s—though not as fat, rather thin, with dark skin, deep-set features, and a pair of pale green eyes seriously watching him.

What left a lasting impression was the tattoos on his forehead, chin, and neck. The purple tattoos, like cloud patterns of lightning, covered every inch of skin there, emitting a faint glow in the dark, creating a mysterious and unpredictable aura.

Fang Hong had never seen an Arcanist like this, but instinctively felt he was not to be trifled with, subconsciously taking a step back.

Recognizing this person was not simple, his mind was set on a preemptive strike, thinking of a sudden attack strategy, although outwardly calm, he even replied: ”What spell are you talking about?”

Just as the other was about to speak, his expression changed because he saw a flash of blue light before Fang Hong, and an elegantly shaped silver swordsman seemed to pass through a teleportation gate, its long sword-arm aiming a strike at him.

The Arcanist snorted softly. Without any apparent movement, the Energy Angel’s sword pierced a silver shield and, though it flickered momentarily, rendered Fang Hong’s strike ineffective.

Fang Hong was taken aback, the system notified him that the strike caused full damage, yet the light net on the opponent’s shield didn’t even shift. How thick was this shield? It felt like he had hit solid iron, and then he saw the other person raise his right hand and point at him: ”Suffocate.”
