Pillar of Yita

Knocking unconscious is a good choice, because the process from coma to awakening, then breaking free from captivity, usually takes well over forty-five minutes, and can even last from a few hours to a day.

However, in a battle of evenly matched forces, it’s often hard to control this degree, and if one is not careful, they might end up dragging themselves into it.

Therefore, Fang Heng uses ’as much as possible’, rather than a must.

During the moment of sign language communication, the two Great Swordsmen have already approached, they have not noticed anything unusual around them, and continue talking to themselves. Fang Hong listens quietly to Miss Tata’s translation, the two are discussing trivial matters, occasionally revealing some useful keywords.

For instance, earlier they mentioned taking turns going to the town. It seems that although the Blind Followers have withdrawn from the stronghold within Tansnier Port, they have not entirely given up the place, in fact, they are still secretly stationed here and often infiltrate the town.

Either to gather intelligence, or merely as described by these two, to have fun.

This was something beyond Fang Hong’s expectations, the Blind Followers’ boldness was beyond his imagination, and why are they doing this?

There are always relevant interests in any matter that would drive people to do it, especially for these cultists.

They also mentioned ’Wandering Alchemist’, ’island’ among other words, but it is hard to judge from their tone what status the Wandering Alchemist holds among the Blind Followers, or what connection they have.

As for the ’island’ mentioned, Fang Hong was even more confused.

It was Miss Tata who reminded him that the ’island’ might refer to the Kesayi Pillar Islands—

The Kesayi Pillar Islands are the largest chain of floating islands in the southern part of Istania, stretching from Mist Fjord in the north to Nogness in the south. In fact, Lady Aierna’s hometown is located in this chain of islands, and the origin of the Battle of Bain—the small island that suddenly emerged from the Sky Sea and then disappeared, is also at the southern end of this chain of islands.

As an unenlightened land on the Kingdom’s border, dark beliefs once spread on the island, and it was also once one of the origins of the Blind Followers’ beliefs.

The Colin Ishurian Kingdom of Istania has conducted multiple purges against the dark forces on the islands, but with little effect, even the largest group on the islands, the Giant Spirit, has only recently converted to the Kingdom—this could count as the biggest progress in a century.

But even among the Giant Spirit, there are many deeply rooted ’ancient’ beliefs.

The two Great Swordsmen murmured as they walked away, then the Old Wizard also strolled over.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but reach out to his Information Crystal. If they were to launch an attack, now was the best opportunity, as the spellcasters’ spells require considerable preparation time but are often the primary threat in a combat.

If they prioritized taking out the Snake Sorcerer, the combat would become much easier.

However, it would be easy to let the ranger hiding in the dark escape—

He thought about it and decided not to act.

The Old Wizard also strolled over slowly.

Then the Ranger finally came into view, wearing a tattered gray cloth cloak, carrying a longbow, a curved blade hanging from the waist, with dark skin, and some colorful paint daubed on his face, and the two most prominent white battle tattoos on the cheeks, with a stern expression, arms folded in a proud manner, like the Duke Clan of the desert, a people famous for producing hunters and warriors.

The figure walked slowly forward with their head down, but halfway through, suddenly stopped, nervously looking left and right.

Seeing this scene, Fang Hong couldn’t help but tense up, instinctively holding his breath.

The reactions of the others were roughly similar at this moment.

The Ranger showed a suspicious look, turned back to speak to his companions: ”Wait.”

The three in front stopped and looked back at him:

”What’s the matter?”

”Does this place seem a bit different from before?” The Duke Clan Ranger asked coldly.

”Different?” The two Great Swordsmen looked around blankly: ”What’s different?”

The Old Wizard raised his eyelids and glanced in this direction but seemed not too interested, he looked once and then lowered his eyelids again.

Everyone held onto their weapons, Fang Hong even had the bow string taut, he wasn’t afraid of the Ranger coming to test, because the spell of the Natural Historian was a real illusion, even if the other used hands to touch, they could feel the real object.

Moreover, the illusory rock wall also had the physical properties of a usual rock wall, possessing unilateral sound isolation ability, but the problem is if the other side realized the possibility of an ’illusion technique’, and insisted on using scouting magic.

They would be exposed.

And it seemed the other side had this intention.

”What exactly is the problem?” The two Great Swordsmen asked.

”Not very clear.”

The Duke Clan Ranger shook his head, but insisted: ”But my instincts are never wrong, there is definitely something wrong with this place.”

Fang Hong was so angry he wanted to shoot this guy then and there, you clearly don’t know, yet you talk about your instincts not being wrong, is something wrong with your brain? To be honest, if it were possible to avoid combat, he didn’t want to have a conflict with this patrol team.

That way, their chances of successfully infiltrating would be higher.

And obviously the two Great Swordsmen had the same thought as Fang Hong: ”Are you crazy or what?”
