Pillar of Yita

But Fang Hong wasn’t too scared.

If it hadn’t been for a surprise attack last time, this thing didn’t really seem that formidable; it wasn’t even as tough as those guards before— the truly frightening part of the Blood Servants lies in their infectious nature. A single misstep could cause a blood plague outbreak in a region.

And in Eteliria, there aren’t many methods that can directly kill a person, but blood plague is certainly one of them. Although now this ’plague’ has largely faded into obscurity, limited records show that natives were horrified at the mention of this epidemic.

Yet, a Blood Servant’s original form is very precious to the Blind Followers. Are these guys really willing to use these ’original forms’ to attack them?

Or have they already prepared thousands of Blood Servants?

Fang Hong quickly shook his head.

Blood Servants are made from living humans, and you can’t just kill someone to create one. A true Blood Servant requires Dika’s personal intervention for transformation, and without ten or even dozens of sacrifices, how could the Blind God waste divine power on this?

Thousands of Blood Servants would require sacrificing how many people?

Thinking about it, it’s impossible. Even if they were to slaughter Tansnier, it might not be enough.

He looked up and saw Blood Servants continuously emerging from the darkness, quickly reaching a count of twenty or thirty. But he didn’t see any guards driving them, which was even stranger. The combat prowess of Blood Servants is quite mediocre; they might scare ordinary people, but they pose almost no threat to adventurers Level 15 and above.

How arrogant is the other side to believe that this many Blood Servants could pose a threat to them?

If the other side dispatched guards to launch an attack under the cover of these Blood Servants, it would be a more logical choice.

Yet, that thought just flashed across Fang Hong’s mind. He raised his hand, forming a knife with his hand pointed forward, and said to everyone:

”Don’t worry about these things, I’ll cover you as you initiate the attack.”

”Watch out for their tongues, that’s their core.”

Having said that, he shouted:

”Open fire!”

A golden light burst forth among the monsters.

...

And just like Fang Hong described, the battle didn’t last too long, not even as intense as their previous skirmish with that team of guards.

Due to their lack of intelligence, after a single round of volleys, the Blood Servants had already suffered heavy losses— and when the members of the Shield of Lufu charged in, they found that although these things looked menacing, they were indeed strong in appearance but weak in reality— of course, their Level was still slightly higher, but in a 3-on-1, 2-on-1, or even 2-on-2 situation, the Blood Servants found it hard to prevail against adventurers.

After all, coordination between people matters; a combination of a warrior and a priest is much more reliable than simply two warriors.

Not to mention other members of the Seven Seas Travel Group, Elisa alone took down three Blood Servants.

And she wasn’t even the one who killed the most.

Apart from Fang Hong, Parker was the kill leader in this battle. Remarkably, he had prepared a box of Sanctified Crossbows. Arrows enchanted by Light’s Ether were the true weapons of mass destruction against Dark Creatures like Blood Servants, and given Parker’s already high Level, he practically took down one per shot.

In contrast, Fang Hong, having been constantly wary of any ambushes from the Blind Followers, never went all out. He kept some Energy Angels and Mares Knights in reserve, ready to be deployed at any moment.

But to his surprise, even until the last moment of the battle, and even after the final Blood Servant fell, the anticipated enemy reinforcements never appeared.

Did the opponents really give up and flee?

Did they sacrifice these Blood Servants to protect their higher-ups?

But if he were in the Blind Followers’ position, he’d certainly send guards to die rather than risking the more important ’original form’ Blood Servants.

For a moment, Fang Hong’s mind was filled with doubts—
