Pillar of Yita

It’s impossible to take everything.

But taking a part of it might still be possible to think of a way.

Once he thought of it, Fang Hong immediately pulled back Wu Xiaopang, who was about to walk away, and said to the latter: ”The information stuff can be left to others, you come over and help me with something.” Saying this, he also found the idle Xiangzi—As for the Papalarian miser, he had gone early to watch the information integration of the Shield of Lufu, the guy just loved watching gold coins clink and clank as they fell into his pocket.

Being able to help the boss with work, Wu Xiaopang was of course more than willing, but still a bit confused inside. He couldn’t help but whisper: ”Boss, what exactly do we need to do?”

Fang pointed to the ’knight’ constructs: ”Find two people to come over and help me open their shells, I need to replace something inside.”

”Open the shell?”

”Yes, it’s simple.”

Fang taught this Little Fatty how to simply disassemble the exterior armor of the Mares Knight, as similar types and sizes of magic guided constructs had long been standardized. The methods of disassembly were also much the same, for ease of maintenance.

And in the activated state of the magic guided construct, the devices under the exterior armor would lock the pins in place, but in a non-activated state, the disassembly process wasn’t complicated. Wu Xiaopang nodded in sudden realization: ”I get it, boss, you’re planning to add something inside them?”

Thinking he had guessed Fang’s plan, he couldn’t help but grin mischievously: ”Haha, when those smugglers come to check on these ’goods’, we just have to stand by and watch, BOOM, they’ll be blasted to the sky.”

Fang looked at this overly imaginative guy speechlessly, if he had that spare time, wouldn’t it be easier to bury a bomb somewhere in a corridor rather than install it on these magic guided constructs waiting for them to inspect? What if they didn’t inspect? Judging by the dust collecting on these magic guided constructs, it seemed unlikely that the Blind Followers would randomly check if they were intact anytime soon.

”No,” Fang shook his head, correcting him, ”I’m planning to drive them away.”

Little Fatty nodded repeatedly.

Then he pulled Xiangzi aside while muttering softly: ”Hey, the boss sure is humorous.”

Xiangzi looked a bit surprised at this guy, at least he never saw where the captain’s humor was.

Wu Xiaopang chuckled: ”Do you know what kind of magic guided construct this is? It’s the military standard magic guided construct of the Osh Empire. If I remember right, one unit requires a calculative power of over one hundred and twenty, count how many are in this row? At least twelve units. If someone could take them away, I’d eat their main core crystals, do you believe it?”

”I don’t believe it.”

Xiangzi shook his head.

Wu Xiaopang gave him a speechless glance.

Lacking a sense of humor, he deeply sympathized.

...

The disassembly was just as Fang said, not complicated.

Wu Xiaopang, with Xiangzi and two others he found, soon completed the task Fang had instructed—they opened the Mares Knight’s shell and removed the main crystal located above the core—which in itself wasn’t very valuable, since Fang hadn’t specifically told them to keep it. Thus, Wu Xiaopang casually tossed it aside.

However, out of humanitarian consideration, Xiangzi picked up what Wu Xiaopang discarded and piled the main crystals neatly together.

Wu Xiaopang noticed his actions and was slightly surprised: ”What are you doing?”

Xiangzi shook his head.

He was an assassin, but assassins could be gentle too, he decided not to tell the harsh truth for now.

Fang’s goal was quite simple—the main crystal of a magic guided construct had permissions, just like other combat artisans couldn’t easily control each other’s flexible constructs, because each craftsman would set a proprietary alchemy array within their flexible construct’s main crystal, or you could see it as a passcode.

For without activating this alchemy array, a combat artisan couldn’t bypass it to control the magic guided construct, though the activation method was often only known to the designer.

The stolen Yinhanz-T4 from Sand Lodge was a different case, possibly due to negligence by the Tansnier Crafting Association or the Grand Princess being too prodigal, that magic guided construct oddly wasn’t equipped with such settings, allowing the wandering alchemist to seize it easily.

But the Blind Followers were obviously more vigilant, and having reaped ’benefits’ from the incident, it was unlikely they’d make such a careless mistake.

As for forcibly deciphering this alchemy array, it wasn’t impossible, but Fang didn’t have America time for it, so he decided to employ a much simpler approach—say, directly replacing the main crystal of these magic guided constructs.

An ordinary alchemist wouldn’t be crazy enough to carry so many blank main core crystals, but he was different. Fang’s special status as non-magic aptitude made it necessary for him to carry a batch of non-attribute crystals specifically for replacement use.

Of course, these crystals usually weren’t used in magic guided constructs, since constructs didn’t require non-attribute crystals to function, these crystals were primarily used in various magic guided armor, weapons, or plugins, but now happened to come in handy.

Even if there’s still a shortfall, he could craft some on the spot, because as a result of the same condition, Fang was also considered half a crystal craftsman himself.
