Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong merely described the appearance of his control gloves and information crystal to the latter, the little girl seemed to understand vaguely. But Fang Hong wasn’t anxious, as Miss Tata would accompany her, otherwise he wouldn’t feel at ease.

Although he didn’t know where his belongings were exactly, he trusted Miss Tata, believing she would find a way. If even Tata had no way, it probably meant it couldn’t be recovered.

Miss Tata always followed protocols, organizing everything orderly.

Fang Hong found himself unconsciously habitually trusting his Miss Dragon Soul unconditionally.

Nini silently slipped through the dungeon bars with her petite form; to her, the bars were like towering stone pillars in a spacious hall, posing no obstacle. She curiously glanced around the environment outside, not far in the darkness was a long-eared gray mouse, staring with its beady eyes, wary of this suddenly appearing ’strange’ creature.

Nini brandished her claws at it, making a ’woof’ sound, scaring the little thing severely, it startled and fled swiftly without a trace.

Fang Hong watched this scene, couldn’t help but exchange a glance with Tata. Miss Tata gently nodded at him, then, like a ghost, floated out following Nini, Fang Hong watched their figures disappear into the darkness, having no choice but to rely on Miss Tata.

After they left, Fang Hong didn’t stay idle, he groped in the darkness for a while, his handcuffs clinking— the Arcanists seemed not to have meticulously examined his belongings, only disarmed and took away the information crystal and his coat, yet he found some items in his shirt pocket.

Such as a few Lycel silver coins, a pencil, a pocket watch, several crystals, and a bunch of keys. However, these items were of no use at the moment, the keys were for his captain’s room, the coins and crystals were useless, he attempted to unlock the handcuffs with the pencil but it broke and the lock didn’t budge.

He devised another plan, disassembled the pocket watch, retrieved a spring piece and hands, yet fiddling for a while, still to no avail. His lockpicking skills were low; perhaps a high-level Nightingale would find a solution, regrettably the other side clearly knew, if he were a Nightingale, these items wouldn’t have been left on him.

Fang Hong sighed, realizing his efforts were futile, he put down the items, sat quietly for a moment, listened to the muffled wind outside. Feeling a bit thirsty, he picked up the cup, took a sip of water, surprisingly it was somewhat sweet, then randomly ate some bread, hard and astringent, enough to make one suspect if the Arcanists were Ascetic Monks.

However, the things Affia sent at least helped him regain some strength, with clearer thoughts, his mind was no longer a muddled mess.

He recalled something else, searched inside and out among his belongings, from a pocket in the pants found a heavy black crystal. Seeing the crystal, Fang Hong couldn’t help but be overjoyed — it was a backup communication crystal, following the previous experience of a damaged communication crystal, he learned from mistakes and prepared this communication crystal purposely.

Unexpectedly, the Arcanists hadn’t taken it away; now it could be utilized.

He immediately opened the communication channel, but the friend list was almost entirely dark, causing Fang Hong to pause slightly. However, he suddenly heard the outside wind intensify, he realized the situation; three days ago, when the storm was brewing, communication had encountered severe interference, let alone now?

Bain was in northern Tansnier, closer to the center of the storm Hilveld mentioned.

But Fang Hong didn’t lose heart, he opened the community, yet the community was blank, perpetually loading. At this point, Fang Hong felt a heavy heart, unexpected how much impact the storm had on communication, no wonder the Arcanists stopped at a superficial search, relying on confidence.

The only communication method left, fearfully only magic messenger—

Magic messenger traverses the Ether Realm, likely less affected by the Material Realm.

Yet the Arcanists weren’t foolish, they wouldn’t leave this loophole, had long taken away his messenger amulet.

Just risen hope was declared shattered again, leaving Fang Hong temporarily helpless.

He looked at the perpetually loading community, listened to the howling wind outside the walls, the dungeon was pitch black—like a quiet harbor amidst raging winds, giving a feeling of outside turmoil while inside remains serene as it was.

No matter when or where, the Invokers always connect through the community, through high-dimensional communication, hence even in despair, isolated situations, the Invokers usually remain calm more than the Natives, at least sending a video before deaths, approximately explain such state.

Currently, Fang Hong felt a significant sense of solitude, he finally understood the comfort community and communication software provide to people in this era.

The anxiety brought by emptiness was spreading, in the darkness unsure how long time had passed, Miss Tata and Nini still hadn’t returned, the contact within the Mind World was also blank, uncertain if the distance was too far or similarly affected by the ten-year sandstorm.
