Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 150: Chapter 123: The Northern Territory Changes Hands, Limitations of the Breathing Technique

The Dark Night Knight was hard to find, but was Roy?

Even if he couldn’t move against the Dark Night Knight immediately, dealing with Roy first was also an option.

In fact, without the Dark Night Knight’s protection, Roy would be even easier to deal with.

The Ironblood Duke didn’t consider the worst-case scenario.

For one, he had blindly trusted Thomas, mistakenly believing that a Third-class Apprentice truly possessed the strength of a Golden Great Knight and could easily eliminate any enemy below that level.

For another, he didn’t dare entertain the thought that Thomas had been killed.

To outsiders, he was the Northern Duke, an imposing figure whose word was law.

But only he knew that behind his glamorous facade, he was plagued by countless worries, far from the freewheeling figure others perceived.

Roy glanced at the Ironblood Duke before looking away.

He wasn’t surprised that the Ironblood Duke looked shocked by Thomas’s death.

After all, the Ironblood Duke was the one who had hired Thomas.

What he hadn’t expected, however, was that the Ironblood Duke’s eldest son, Alex, also looked surprised.

He had never met Alex before.

However, he recognized him from his appearance and attire.

Even though the Ironblood Duke had more than ten children, it was easy to identify Alex through a simple process of elimination.

According to Thomas, he had never been in contact with any other members of the Reilly Clan. The only person who knew he was a Third-class Apprentice and was going to Yorkshire to assassinate the Dark Night Knight was the Ironblood Duke.

Thomas hadn’t been lying; he had indeed only been in contact with the Ironblood Duke.

The only reason Alex knew was because the Ironblood Duke had told him.

The look of shock on the Ironblood Duke’s face quickly vanished.

Though he had not yet regained his composure, he had to remain calm at a time like this.

Even if it was an act, he had to appear calm.

Under the crowd’s watchful eyes, the Ironblood Duke glared coldly at Roy and snapped, ”Since you’re tired of living and have delivered yourself to my doorstep to die, I’ll be happy to oblige!”

As he spoke, the Ironblood Duke unleashed his Fighting Qi, which was as red as blood and burned fiercely like a flame.

The Reilly Clan’s heirloom Breathing Technique was a Power Type Perfect Breathing Technique: the Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique!

It was said that the strength of a Knight who cultivated the Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique increased with the number of people they killed.

Roy didn’t know if that was actually true.

After all, he had never cultivated the Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique.

One thing was certain, however: compared to other Perfect Breathing Techniques, the difficulty of advancing to the rank of Silver Great Knight was much lower with the Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique.

Every generation of the Reilly Clan produced at least one Silver Great Knight.

Sometimes, there would even be two.

After unleashing his Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Fighting Qi, the Ironblood Duke didn’t hesitate for a moment, immediately condensing the blood-red energy into Fighting Qi Armor and a Fighting Qi Weapon.

The red Fighting Qi Armor covered his existing Golden Armor.

And in the Ironblood Duke’s hands, a Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword, over a meter long and resembling red crystal, materialized.

It had to be said, the Ironblood Duke truly lived up to his title as a Silver Great Knight.

Once he had formed his Fighting Qi Armor and Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword, the intangible aura he exuded possessed a hint of an effect similar to Dragon Mighty.

To Roy, an aura of this level had no effect on him whatsoever.

But for the others in the square, it wasn’t so simple.

The sheer intensity of the Ironblood Duke’s aura made them unconsciously gulp and take a few steps back, feeling an immense pressure.

At the same time, the thought of never, ever making an enemy of the Ironblood Duke took root in their minds.

After forming his Fighting Qi Armor and Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword, the Ironblood Duke roared furiously. He pushed off with his legs, shooting toward Roy like an arrow loosed from a bow.

’Decent speed!’

Roy watched the charging Ironblood Duke with a calm expression, making a mental evaluation.

Compared to the enemies he had fought before, the Ironblood Duke’s speed was, without a doubt, the fastest.

But compared to Roy himself, the Duke’s top speed was merely decent.

The Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique was a Power Type Perfect Breathing Technique.

In other words, even if he cultivated the Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique to Tier Eight, the main augmentation the Ironblood Duke received was to his Power, not his Speed.

In the blink of an eye, the Ironblood Duke was in front of Roy, bringing his crystal-red Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword down on his head.

Only after the Ironblood Duke began his swing did Roy unhurriedly raise his Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword.

BOOM!

The blood-red Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword and the silvery-white Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword slammed into each other, unleashing a tremendous noise and a terrifying shockwave.

The tremendous sound instantly echoed throughout Iron Blood Castle.

A visible shockwave swept out in all directions like a hurricane, sending the nearest Knights and soldiers flying.

”The Bloodthirsty Tree Spirit Breathing Technique is a Power Breathing Technique. It should have significantly increased your Power.”

”But the Power you’re displaying now... it’s too weak!”

Roy said to the Ironblood Duke, holding up his Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword with a single hand.

Before they had clashed, the Ironblood Duke would have thought Roy was just bluffing.

Now, however, he knew Roy was speaking the truth.

He was currently gripping his Fighting Qi Two-Handed Sword with both hands, attacking with his full, unreserved strength.
