Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 107: Chapter 105: Sea of Consciousness, Tier Nine Purgatory Dragon

Outside the secret chamber.

Miria stood before the secret chamber’s metal door, imagining the scene of Roy beating up the Three-headed Dog.

The secret chamber was well soundproofed.

She hadn’t heard a single sound since coming out.

Although she couldn’t hear what was happening inside, she could roughly imagine how Roy would discipline the ill-tempered Three-headed Dog.

Just as she was wondering how long it would take Roy to finish the job, the metal door to the secret chamber opened from the inside.

As the door opened, Roy appeared before her.

Upon seeing Roy, she didn’t hesitate and immediately asked, ”How’s the Three-headed Dog?”

”It’s fine. It’s obedient now.”

With that, Roy turned his head toward the corner of the chamber and said to the Three-headed Dog cowering there, ”Mao Mao, come out!”

’Mao Mao?’

Miria’s expression turned a little strange.

Before she could give it much thought, the Three-headed Dog, Mao Mao, who was now fully aware that it was no match for Roy, dashed to his side at top speed.

Then, it sat down with impeccable obedience, its six eyes fixed on Roy, awaiting his next command.

Uh...

Seeing this, Miria slowly asked, ”How did you do that?”

”Nothing special. I just controlled my strength and gave it a good beating.”

Roy replied nonchalantly.

To him, taming the Three-headed Dog, Mao Mao, was indeed no big deal.

If the difficulty of taming the Earth Dragon, Xiaobai, was a 10, then taming the Three-headed Dog, Mao Mao, was only a 1.

For one thing, when taming Xiaobai, he had not only used more force but also a lot of his Basic Staff Technique.

But to tame Mao Mao, he had just repeatedly drummed on its heads like he was playing a drum kit.

Just as Miria was about to ask for more details about how Roy tamed Mao Mao, his voice rang out.

”Mao Mao has been beaten into submission. As long as I’m in the castle, it won’t dare cause any trouble.”

”But right now, it only recognizes me as its master because I’m stronger.”

”If you want it to obey your commands as well, you also need to show it that you’re stronger, that you have the power to kill it at any moment.”

”Only then will it acknowledge your status.”

”In other words, if it doesn’t listen to you, just beat it.”

”If you beat it enough times, it’ll come to acknowledge you.”

The Three-headed Dog, Mao Mao, could only understand a few very simple commands for now.

For example, come, sit, lie down, shake, and so on.

It had no idea Roy was telling Miria that she could beat it more in the future. It thought Roy was praising it to Miria, so it opened its mouths, lolled out its tongues, and stared foolishly at Roy.

”Okay, I understand.”

Miria replied quickly.

”There’s no need to lock it in the secret chamber anymore. Being locked up has more or less given it some psychological issues.”

”Let’s take it outside to see the sky and the sun first.”

Roy continued.

”Mm-hm!”

Miria nodded immediately, without any hesitation.

Hearing Miria’s reply, Roy said to Mao Mao beside him, ”Follow us.”

Mao Mao, who was sitting on the floor, immediately stood up.

Roy said no more and walked toward the stairs with Miria.

Mao Mao followed close behind them to the stairs.

Before long, they arrived at the plaza in front of the main building.

Seeing Mao Mao following behind Roy and Miria, the soldiers, maids, and others in the castle all wore surprised expressions.

They knew Miria’s father had acquired a Three-headed Dog cub before the Snow Fox Tragedy.

But they had never seen the Three-headed Dog.

This was because they had all been recruited by Miria after the Snow Fox Tragedy.

The original soldiers and maids, like Miria’s parents, had all been killed on the night of the Snow Fox Tragedy.

After arriving at the plaza, Roy ignored the stares of the soldiers and maids and said to Miria, ”I’ll leave the rest to you. I’m going back to my room to cultivate the Beast Taming Skill. Don’t let anyone disturb me.”

”Okay!”

Miria replied at once.

Roy wasted no time and immediately headed for the guest room on the second floor.

Soon, he was back in his room.

After locking the door and windows from the inside, with a thought, his consciousness entered the Chaos Square.

Taking a deep breath, he sat down in the center of the square, closed his eyes, and began to construct the Magic Model for the Beast Taming Skill.

In an instant, his consciousness entered his Sea of Consciousness, where his Spiritual Power resided.

For a Knight, the Sea of Life, which houses the Life Seed and Fighting Qi, is the foundation of their strength.

But for a Wizard, the Sea of Consciousness, home to Spiritual Power and Mana, is the core of everything.

The location of the Sea of Life was identical to that of the Middle Dantian.

And the location of the Sea of Consciousness was identical to that of the Upper Dantian.

Roy didn’t know if this was a coincidence.

However, after learning that the Sea of Life and the Sea of Consciousness corresponded to the Middle and Upper Dantian, he used his Spiritual Power to perform Introspection on the location of his Lower Dantian.

In the region of the Lower Dantian, he discovered an energy distinct from Fighting Qi, Spiritual Power, and Mana.

He didn’t know what this energy was for the time being, nor how to use it.

However, he could tell one thing: the total amount of energy in the Lower Dantian region was no less than his Fighting Qi.

Once his consciousness entered the Sea of Consciousness in his Upper Dantian, Roy didn’t hesitate, immediately beginning to manipulate the Spiritual Power within it to construct the Magic Model for the Beast Taming Skill.

More than half an hour passed without him realizing it.

Just like with the Will Runes he had yet to fully master through Meditation, he hadn’t succeeded even once in the past half an hour.

Although he had memorized all the details of the Beast Taming Skill’s Magic Model, constructing it in one go with Spiritual Power was no easy feat.

He had been mentally prepared for this from the start.

As far as he knew, a Third-class Apprentice who could master ten Level Zero Tricks before advancing to an Official Wizard was already considered outstanding.

In other words, constructing a Magic Model had never been an easy task.

Otherwise, any random Third-class Apprentice would be able to master dozens, or even hundreds, of Level Zero Tricks.

After another failure, Roy temporarily stopped constructing the Magic Model and began to review and summarize his previous mistakes.

Only after summarizing the reasons for his failures and thinking up countermeasures did he resume constructing the Magic Model.

Energy Circuit error...

Model structure collapse...

Node connection failure...

Roy couldn’t even be bothered to count how many times he had failed.

He had only one thought now: succeed just once before his Spiritual Power ran out.

He didn’t know exactly how much Spiritual Power he had.

Based on the number of Will Runes he had mastered, he estimated his current Spiritual Power was probably comparable to that of a Second-class Apprentice.

The Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method had a total of only 12 Will Runes, and he had already mastered 8 of them.

He hadn’t specifically focused on cultivating the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method, merely using it as a substitute for sleep. But not long after advancing to Silver Great Knight, he had grinded the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method all the way to Tier Nine.

In terms of Level alone, the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method was his highest-leveled skill.

But in terms of combat effectiveness, the Tier Nine Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method couldn’t even compare to his Tier Six Breathing Technique.

But that was normal.

Without having mastered any Magic, the Spiritual Power cultivated through the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method was only useful for Alchemy and unleashing Dragon Mighty.

Time trickled by.

After failing an unknown number of times, Roy finally succeeded in constructing the Magic Model for the Beast Taming Skill.

Suppressing his excitement, he immediately opened his eyes.

Without any hesitation, Roy immediately manipulated the Mana in his Sea of Consciousness.

When Wizards and Wizard Apprentices cultivate a Meditation Technique, they absorb the surrounding Natural Energy into their Sea of Consciousness based on their own Attribute Affinity, converting it into the Mana needed for Casting.

Because Mana is stored in the Sea of Consciousness, and the size of the Sea of Consciousness is determined by Spiritual Power, the upper limit of one’s Mana is determined by the upper limit of their Spiritual Power.

Simply put, the stronger one’s Spiritual Power, the more Mana they have.

When Mana was injected into the Magic Model for the Beast Taming Skill, the model floating in his Sea of Consciousness was instantly activated, shining with a faint white light.

Although he hadn’t selected a target for the spell, Roy still successfully cast the Beast Taming Skill.

Since there was no target, the Beast Taming Skill didn’t produce its intended effect.

However, for Roy, that was enough.

The moment after the Beast Taming Skill was successfully cast, information about its Skill Level appeared in his vision.
