Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 143: Chapter 121: Flaw, Wolf Tracking

After he took off his mask, Margery continued, ”I don’t know why, but I find you more charming now than you were at Rock Lion Castle.”

’If you say so,’ Roy grumbled internally.

He decided not to waste any more time and asked directly, ”Tell me. How were you able to tell by scent?”

Margery didn’t answer right away. Instead, she got up and moved next to Roy, so they were sitting side by side instead of face to face.

She also changed her posture, drawing her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them.

Once she was settled, she said unhurriedly, ”It’s simple. I’ve cultivated a Secret Technique called Wolf Tracking. When I use it, my sense of smell becomes as keen as a wolf’s.”

”I can teach it to you, if you want.”

”The Wesley Clan’s ancestral Breathing Technique is the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique, and your family crest is an Ice Wolf. It would be a good match for Wolf Tracking.”

Roy turned to look at Margery. After a moment of thought, he slowly asked, ”What do you want in return?”

”Nothing in return,” Margery replied.

”Are you sure?” Roy pressed.

”But if you insist on paying me, I won’t object,” Margery said with a smile.

”Wolf Tracking is an enhancement-type Secret Technique. I won’t take advantage of you. I’ll trade two of my own enhancement-type Secret Techniques for it: Fierce Strike and Blood Mark.”

Roy then explained the effects of Fierce Strike and Blood Mark to Margery.

After listening to his explanation, Margery smiled. ”One for two? Now it seems I’m the one taking advantage of you...”

At this, she paused. She raised her right hand to caress Roy’s cheek and brought her tempting red lips close to his ear. ”I’ll sleep here tonight,” she whispered in a deeply seductive voice. ”I won’t stop you from doing whatever you want.”

”Also... I’m not wearing anything underneath.”

When Margery had said she would sleep here tonight, Roy hadn’t felt much of anything.

However, upon hearing her last words, he had to admit he was tempted.

The Laine Royal Family may have fallen on hard times.

But Margery was still a princess with a stunning figure and beautiful face.

As a man who was healthy in both mind and body, Roy didn’t need long to make his decision.

”I feel I should remind you,” Roy said, looking at Margery seriously and speaking quickly. ”Even if I sleep with you, I won’t help you seize power from the Eldest Prince or avenge William II. I definitely won’t help you become the new queen of the Laine Kingdom, either.”

’He couldn’t be bothered to guess what Margery was planning. If she still chose to seduce him after understanding the consequences, then he wouldn’t mind spending a night ’playing cards’ with her.’

Hearing his words, Margery wrapped her arms around his neck. She gave him a sultry look and said with a smile,

”I’m not Catherine or Miria. I don’t need you to take responsibility for me!”

”Besides, getting what you want and walking away isn’t just a man’s privilege.”

”A man can pull up his pants and walk away, and a woman can just as easily put on her skirt and leave.”

Before Roy could reply, Margery gave him a gentle push, knocking him onto his back. Then, with practiced ease, she began to unfasten his armor.

Roy didn’t stop her.

’He’d given her all the warnings he needed to.’

’Since Margery had made her choice, he might as well respect it.’

’In any case, he wasn’t the one who stood to lose.’

Before long, the tent, which could accommodate two people at most, began to shake violently. Every so often, the suppressed sounds of ’card playing’ drifted out.

When all fell quiet again, Roy turned his head to glance at Margery lying beside him.

’He had thought she was really as uninhibited as she acted.’

’But as it turned out, a rookie was still a rookie!’

’No matter how nonchalant she had seemed before, once the ’card game’ truly began, she still showed all the fear and unease of a rookie.’

’Still, rookies had their advantages.’

’Playing ’cards’ with a rookie was certainly more... satisfying.’

’If there was any downside, it was that rookies didn’t have much stamina.’

After a short rest, an unwilling-to-concede Margery challenged Roy once more.

’A true duelist never refuses a challenge!’

The tent, which had only just fallen silent, began to shake once more.

...

「The next morning.」

As if nothing had happened, Margery walked out of Roy’s tent under the watchful eyes of Miranda and Brook and returned to her carriage.

A short while later, a fully dressed Roy also emerged from the tent, appearing before Miranda and Brook.

The moment he was out, Miranda approached him and said, ”We’re all family now. There’s no need for you to keep wearing that mask.”

Hearing this, Roy replied with the utmost seriousness, ”Let me correct you. We are not family. Not now, not ever.”

”Furthermore, I despise you even more now than I did before.”

”If you had come to my tent to seduce me yourself last night, I might have actually respected you more. It would have shown that you’re not only cunning but also willing to be ruthless with yourself.”

”But unfortunately, you didn’t.”

”Using your position as a mother to bewitch or force your own daughter into seducing someone for your own gain... you’re nothing but trash. Utter and complete trash!”

”You should consider yourself lucky that you’re Margery’s mother.”

”Otherwise, I’d snap your neck right here and now.”
