Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 110: Chapter 108: Middle Level Physique, Indulging in Wine and Women

”The clan ancestor who bought the Magic Scroll said that anyone who learns a Level Zero Trick has a chance of becoming a legendary Wizard.”

”Now that you’ve learned the Beast Taming Skill, will you consider becoming a Wizard?”

Miria looked at Roy earnestly and asked quickly.

Upon hearing her question, Roy smiled and said, ”If I have the opportunity, of course I’ll try to become a Wizard. But wanting to become one isn’t easy.”

”To be precise, the difficulty of becoming a Wizard is much higher than a Peak Knight’s advancement to Great Knight.”

”But let’s not get into that. For now, I’m leaving Xiaobai in your care. If there’s nothing else, I’m going to head back to the Ice Wolf Domain.”

Although sleeping with Miria in his arms was a comfortable affair, Roy didn’t intend to stay at Snow Fox Castle any longer.

He had already spent five days at Snow Fox Castle, enjoying a relatively relaxing ”vacation.”

In order to grind his Giant Monster Breathing Technique and Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method to the Tier Seven Limit as quickly as possible, he prepared to return to Ice Wolf Castle and continue his life as a hardcore grinder.

His ”card games” with Miria certainly brought a physical pleasure that was gratifying for both body and soul.

But he refused to become addicted to it.

As a certain anonymous but well-known figure once said, if you can’t control your little brother, then he’s not your little brother—he’s the boss!

”You’re going back now?”

”It’ll be dark in a few hours. Why not head back tomorrow instead?”

Miria gazed at Roy, her eyes full of longing as she spoke in a soft voice.

”There’s no need. I can make it back to Ice Wolf Castle before dark.”

”Let’s leave it at that. If anything comes up, just send a Raven to me.”

Although returning tomorrow wouldn’t have made much difference, Roy still refused Miria.

’A man has to be tough on himself!’

History was filled with famous figures who had proven that indulging in wine and women led to a dead end.

For example, there was that one fellow who, after being ruined by vice, decided to give up drinking.

”Alright.”

”Then be safe.”

Miria gave Roy a reproachful look.

Roy said nothing more. He just nodded and walked straight out of the study.

Once he reached the castle gate, he gave Xiaobai a few instructions.

He told it to obey Miria, stay out of trouble, not eat people, not to kill and eat Mao Mao, and to go hunt for itself when it got hungry.

Although Miria was a Baroness, she was one with very little money.

One look at the size of the castle’s main building and the number of its soldiers was enough to see that.

At a time when other nobles were all recruiting new soldiers and expanding their armies, Miria hadn’t recruited a single soldier and had even refused commoners who tried to join the Castle Guard.

If she hadn’t previously used Contribution Points to trade for military supplies from the Second Son Brotherhood, Snow Fox Castle wouldn’t even be able to scrape together ten warhorses right now.

As for metal-forged Standard Armor, that was even more out of the question.

After giving his instructions to Xiaobai, Roy wasted no time. He activated the Silver-White Fighting Qi in his body and sprinted toward the Ice Wolf Domain.

In just over an hour, he was back at Ice Wolf Castle.

As soon as he returned, Tony immediately found him to ask where Xiaobai had gone.

Roy didn’t hide anything, telling Tony that he had taken Xiaobai to Snow Fox Castle.

Tony didn’t object to this arrangement, merely reminding him to be wary of Count Frost Bear.

Count Frost Bear was no morally upstanding nobleman.

When news spread that the Three-headed Dog, Count Frost Bear’s Captain of the Personal Guard, Garrett, and others had been killed inside Snow Fox Castle, the Snow Fox Tragedy from six years ago once again became a hot topic of conversation.

At the same time, many people became convinced that the ones who had gone on a killing spree at the Sleeping Beauty Tavern were Roy and Miria.

It was only natural for people to have such suspicions.

The timing was too much of a coincidence.

The day after Garrett and his men were killed, Roy, who previously had no connection to the Elvin Clan, appeared at Snow Fox Castle. On top of that, rumors spread that he and Miria were going to be married.

Not only that, but the Three-headed Dog, which had disappeared back then, had also reappeared.

If people didn’t suspect Roy and Miria of being the murderers of Garrett and his men after all that, it would have been truly unbelievable.

Count Frost Bear was also convinced they were the ones who had wreaked havoc in the Sleeping Beauty Tavern.

But he did nothing about it.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to save face, but that he didn’t dare.

He wasn’t particularly concerned with Roy and Miria’s strength.

The one he truly cared about was the Dark Night Knight.

As everyone knew, the Dark Night Knight was an extremely powerful Bronze Great Knight who was fiercely protective of his own people.

And Roy was the Dark Night Knight’s only student.

Offending the Dark Night Knight over so-called face and a few dead subordinates was simply not worth it, no matter how you looked at it.

After finishing his conversation with Tony, Roy first returned to his bedroom to rest for a few minutes.

Then, he entered Chaos Square and began his Cultivation of the Giant Monster Breathing Technique.

...

「Time flew by.」

In the blink of an eye, over a month had passed.

During this period, aside from occasionally visiting Catherine and Miria for a relaxing ”card game,” Roy spent most of his time living what would seem to outsiders as an exceptionally boring life.

He spent ten hours a day on his Breathing Technique, six hours on Secret Techniques, Beast Taming, and Forging, and another six hours on his Meditation Technique.

The remaining two hours were for eating, bathing, and other necessities.

Though his days were monotonous, Roy never tired of the routine.

Over a month of arduous Cultivation had not only leveled his Giant Monster Breathing Technique up to the Tier Seven Limit, but he had also ground his Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method to Tier Seven.

As for his Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method, it had reached Tier Ten.

His seven Secret Techniques, including Ice Flame Slash, Flame Slash, and Fierce Strike, had all been ground to Tier Two, catching up with Dragon’s Battle Roar, Frost Slash, and Blood Mark.

His Beast Taming Skill and Forging hadn’t leveled up, remaining at Tier One and Tier Two, respectively.

Roy had originally planned to raise his Beast Taming Skill proficiency as much as possible to level it up to Tier Two.

But after more than half a month of practice, he abandoned that idea and temporarily paused his Cultivation of the Beast Taming Skill.

For one, the Cultivation efficiency for the Beast Taming Skill was too low.

For another, he discovered that increasing his Skill Level didn’t actually improve the Beast Taming Skill’s effects; it only quickened the speed at which he could construct the Magic Model.

In simpler terms, it only increased his Casting speed.

As it was, he only needed five seconds to cast the Beast Taming Skill.

Chaos Square.

Like an emotionless and tireless cultivation machine, Roy focused intently on practicing the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method.

In another two or three days, he would be able to grind the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method to the Tier Seven Limit, using it as upgrade material to advance his Giant Monster Seed to Tier Eight.

Just as he had expected, after he ground the Constitution Type Giant Monster Breathing Technique to the Tier Seven Limit, it triggered the Awakening of the special effect Middle Level Physique, which boosted his Physique attribute by 50%.

The Awakening of the Middle Level Physique effect made his physical attributes, which already far surpassed those of other Silver Great Knights, become even more absurdly powerful.

Even without using Fighting Qi or a weapon, he was now absolutely confident he could beat a Bronze Great Knight to death with his bare hands in under a minute.
