Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 140: Chapter 120: Professional Ethics and Scheming

As soon as Roy finished speaking, the crowd gathered in front of the castle gate parted in perfect unison, clearing a path.

Although they were very unhappy with his current domineering attitude, not a single person dared to show their dissatisfaction, let alone try to stop him.

The strongest of them all, the Iron Armor Turtle Marquis, had been severely wounded by him in a single move.

The others didn’t even bear mentioning.

If they truly angered him, Iron Armor Turtle Castle would soon be flowing with rivers of blood, its grounds littered with corpses.

After the others moved aside, Roy didn’t hesitate for a moment, entering the castle with the Fighting Qi·Destruction Sword in hand.

He didn’t enter the main keep, stopping in front of it instead. He said to Margery, ”Go bring out your mother and brother, along with the Breathing Technique Inheritance Map.”

”Alright!”

Margery replied immediately.

Then, under Roy’s gaze, she entered the main keep without a backward glance.

In less than ten minutes, Margery emerged with her mother and brother.

Margery’s mother, Miranda, was a beautiful middle-aged woman in her forties.

Although her current attire wasn’t particularly luxurious, she still possessed an indescribable air of nobility.

As for Margery’s younger brother, Brook, he was a bratty kid of about twelve or thirteen who bore a strong resemblance to her.

Margery didn’t just bring out Miranda, Brook, and the Inheritance Map Roy needed; all three of them were also carrying a bundle each.

One didn’t need to guess to know that the bundles were surely filled with valuables.

After emerging from the main keep, Margery immediately handed an exquisite box containing the Breathing Technique Inheritance Map to Roy.

Roy opened the box and briefly glanced over the Inheritance Maps inside.

The box contained a total of twelve Excellent and Perfect Level Bloodline Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps.

After confirming that the Inheritance Maps in the box were all authentic, Roy nodded in satisfaction, put the box away, and said to Margery, ”Go get a carriage and two warhorses.”

”Mhm!”

Margery nodded.

Soon, she returned with the carriage and warhorses.

Her mother, Miranda, and brother, Brook, boarded the carriage.

As for her and Roy, they each took a warhorse.

With the matter of transportation settled, Roy wasted no more time. He gently squeezed his legs against his horse’s belly and led the way toward the castle gate.

Margery didn’t follow immediately. Instead, she had Brook drive the carriage after Roy while she herself brought up the rear.

As they left Iron Armor Turtle Castle, they met with no resistance, departing coolly under everyone’s gaze.

...

「After nightfall.」

Roy and the others stopped in a grassy clearing on the edge of a forest, a small stream flowing nearby.

They had not yet reached Wodun Province, which bordered the Iron Armor Turtle Domain, and were still within its territory.

The warhorses and carriage were indeed much faster than walking, but not so fast that they could leave the Iron Armor Turtle Domain in just two or three hours.

”We’ll rest here for a bit, then continue on.”

Roy said to Margery.

”We’re still traveling?”

Margery looked at Roy, surprised.

”I only promised to escort you safely to the Sal Empire. I never said it would be a leisurely trip.”

Roy replied calmly.

Upon hearing his answer, Margery immediately furrowed her brow.

After a few seconds, she continued, ”Fine. We’ll do as you arrange.”

With that, she rode her warhorse over to the carriage and told Miranda and Brook that they would have to continue traveling later.

Roy paid them no mind, dismounting and walking toward the nearby forest.

Seeing him dismount, Margery, who had been explaining things to Miranda and Brook, had a sudden change of expression and immediately rode her warhorse over to him.

”Where are you going?”

Margery asked quickly.

”To get something to eat!”

”Don’t worry. I’m a Bounty Hunter with a strong sense of professional ethics.”

”Since I’ve accepted your request, I won’t abandon it halfway through.”

After speaking, Roy paid Margery no further mind and continued into the forest.

Soon, he disappeared from Margery’s sight.

’He had never taken on an escort mission before. This was his first. But even so, it didn’t seem like a difficult task. Aside from taking a bit more time, an escort mission wasn’t much different from any other request—at least, that’s how he saw it.’

After Roy disappeared from sight, Margery led the warhorse he had left behind back to the carriage.

Time trickled by.

Margery, Miranda, and Brook sat by the newly lit campfire, glancing toward the forest from time to time as they waited for Roy to return.

’Although the Dark Night Knight did indeed have an excellent professional reputation, she couldn’t help but worry. She began to regret handing over all the Inheritance Maps at once. Better safe than sorry! If Roy really took the Inheritance Maps and ran, it would only be a matter of time before they were captured and taken back.’

Margery wasn’t the only one with this concern; her mother, Miranda, and brother, Brook, were worried too.

However, their worries didn’t last long.

In just five or six minutes, Roy returned.

To be precise, he returned carrying three wild rabbits.

Roy didn’t have much hunting experience.

However, with the special ability Golden Deer’s Ear, hunting had become a very simple matter for him.

The dim night didn’t affect his hunting efficiency in the slightest.

After locking onto the rabbits’ positions with Golden Deer’s Ear, he had hunted down the three of them effortlessly.
