Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Basic Dragon Mighty, Power of Frost

Soon, a beast-like roar echoed within Chaos Square.

He guided his Fighting Qi along a set path, making it resonate with his chest, mouth, and cranial cavities. Combined with a unique vocal technique, this process produced a domineering and terrifying roar, one that could shake a person to their core, much like a dragon’s.

After officially beginning his practice of the Dragon’s Battle Roar, Roy soon discovered the trouble that came from not having the aid of Dragon Blood.

Making the Fighting Qi follow its predetermined path posed no difficulty for him.

But when he tried to make the Fighting Qi resonate with his chest and mouth, he felt a distinct blockage, preventing him from achieving a proper resonance.

According to the normal cultivation method, he needed to smear Dragon Blood on his chest and throat. This would allow the Dragon Blood to gradually seep into his body, enabling his Fighting Qi to form the specific resonance with his chest and mouth.

In addition, the application and absorption of the Dragon Blood would also allow him to obtain a faint Dragon Mighty.

Although he felt the blockage during resonance, Roy didn’t stop his cultivation of the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

When he practiced a Breathing Technique without using a Secret Medicine, there would also be some disharmony at the beginning.

But as long as he cultivated it a few more times, the Chaos Square would solve the problem in a way he didn’t understand.

He didn’t know how the Chaos Square did it.

He only knew that the Chaos Square would proactively help solve the problem.

Time passed, bit by bit.

After cultivating tirelessly for several repetitions, Roy keenly noticed that the blockage during resonance had disappeared.

’It really worked!’

A satisfied smile appeared on Roy’s face.

Once the blockage during resonance was gone, he soon let out a soul-shaking roar, like that of a Giant Dragon.

ROAR!!!

The massive roar immediately resounded throughout the entire Chaos Square!

The next second, information only he could see appeared in his vision.

[Dragon’s Battle Roar Skill Level +1]

[Dragon’s Battle Roar: Tier One (1/1000), Special Effect: Basic Dragon Mighty]

’A special effect right at the entry level?’

Roy looked at the information before him with a surprised expression.

Although the cultivation method mentioned a chance to obtain a faint Dragon Mighty after applying Dragon Blood.

But he never expected to get a special effect the moment he learned the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

Without any hesitation, he immediately read the description for Basic Dragon Mighty.

[Basic Dragon Mighty: You possess a Dragon Mighty equivalent to that of a Juvenile Dragon. When you actively use your Dragon Mighty, it can induce intense fear in beasts and humans with strength far inferior to your own!]

’It’s an actively usable special effect!’

’Score!’

Although Basic Dragon Mighty could only be used to intimidate beasts and people much weaker than him, this did nothing to dampen Roy’s good mood.

Satisfied, he closed the Skill Proficiency Panel and once again began cultivating the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

[Dragon’s Battle Roar Skill Level +1]

[Dragon’s Battle Roar Skill Level +1]

...

Each time he let out a roar like a Giant Dragon’s, the Skill Level of his Dragon’s Battle Roar increased by 1 point.

Although the rate of improvement was far less than that of his Breathing Technique and Meditation Technique, Roy wasn’t disappointed at all.

The Dragon’s Battle Roar was a Secret Technique!

If the Skill Level for Dragon’s Battle Roar increased as rapidly as those of his Breathing and Meditation Techniques, that would be what was truly abnormal.

After practicing the Dragon’s Battle Roar twenty times in one go, Roy stopped his cultivation of the technique.

His Fighting Qi and stamina could still support further cultivation.

But his throat had started to feel uncomfortable, and his voice had become hoarse.

’Best not to overdo it.’

To avoid causing irreparable damage to his throat, he decisively ended his cultivation of the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

After sitting on the ground to rest for a few minutes, he drew the Fine Steel Cross Sword from his waist and began practicing Frost Slash.

「Time flew by.」

As dawn began to envelop the land, Roy stopped all his cultivation and opened the Skill Proficiency Panel.

[Dragon’s Battle Roar: Tier One (20/1000), Special Effect: Basic Dragon Mighty]

[Frost Slash: Tier One (30/1000), Special Effect: Basic Frost Power]

[Blood Mark: Tier One (20/1000)]

Just like with Dragon’s Battle Roar, learning Frost Slash had granted him a special effect: Basic Frost Power.

[Basic Frost Power: Your Frost Energy Affinity and Frost Resistance are increased by 10%. Your Fighting Qi has gained the Frost attribute.]

Roy wasn’t surprised that his Fighting Qi had gained the Frost attribute.

If his Fighting Qi didn’t have the Frost attribute, it would be impossible to execute a Frost Slash imbued with the Power of Frost.

However, he hadn’t expected that the Basic Frost Power special effect would also increase his Frost Energy Affinity and Frost Resistance by 10%.

Although it was a bit unexpected, for him, it was a bona fide pleasant surprise.

After cultivating the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method, he learned that Energy Affinity and Energy Resistance were important factors in evaluating a Wizard Apprentice’s aptitude.

The higher the Energy Affinity and Energy Resistance, the better one’s aptitude, and the more suited they were to learning Magic of the corresponding attribute.

Closing the Skill Proficiency Panel, Roy’s gaze passed through the gray fog enveloping the Chaos Square, giving him a clear, unobstructed view of his bedroom.

After confirming that no one else was in the bedroom, he returned to it from the Chaos Square with a mere thought.

Because he hadn’t used the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method to restore his mental energy, he seemed a bit more drained than usual.

However, he paid it no mind.

With his current Physique, forget one sleepless night—even if he went several days without sleep, it wouldn’t be a major issue.

Back in his bedroom, he didn’t hesitate, immediately picking up the Summoning Bell on the table and shaking it rapidly.

TING-A-LING!

The crisp sound of the bell immediately rang out.

Before long, a maidservant knocked gently on his door.

”Come in!”

Only after hearing his command did the maidservant push open the door, come before him, and bow in greeting.

”Prepare the bath. I wish to bathe. Have Aili come and attend to me.”

Roy said with a calm expression.

”Yes, Young Master Roy!”

the maidservant replied quickly.

「Five or six minutes later.」

When the bathroom was prepared and the tub was filled with warm water, Roy brought Aili inside with him.

The moment the bathroom door closed, Aili began to help him undress without needing to be told.

Before long, intense sounds not suitable for young ears echoed from within the bathroom.

After breakfast, he would need to depart for the Royal Capital.

Once he left, there was no telling when he would return.

After a comfortable bath, which relieved the mental fatigue from his all-night cultivation, Roy arrived at the dining hall. He was dressed in his Silver-White Armor, with the Fine Steel Cross Sword hanging at his waist.

While they were having breakfast, Tony, who had already lectured him the previous night, once again began earnestly reminding him to be careful.

”Mm-hmm.”

”Okay.”

”I know.”

”I’ll be fine.”

”Don’t worry, I definitely won’t be reckless.”

...

Although Tony was being a bit long-winded, he meant well.

Roy responded to Tony with great patience, showing no sign of impatience.

After finishing breakfast and resting for over twenty minutes in the first-floor reception room, Roy walked to the front of the main building under the watchful eyes of Tony and Erin. There, he mounted his white Warhorse, which was laden with luggage.

”I’m off!”

Waving to Tony, Erin, and Aili, Roy tightened his grip on the reins, squeezed the horse’s belly with his legs, and rode away from Ice Wolf Castle on his white Warhorse.

In the year and a half he had spent at Ice Wolf Castle since his transmigration, he had transformed from a powerless second son of the family, too weak to even truss a chicken, into a Bronze Great Knight who cultivated four different Exemplary Breathing Techniques simultaneously.

Now, he was finally leaving Yorkshire, this ”starter village,” to begin a new Chapter in his life as a transmigrator.
