Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Blood Mark, Dragon’s Battle Roar

Sandru sat on the sofa, a complicated expression on his face. He picked up the wine glass before him and drained it in one gulp.

Then, he asked Roy, ”I’m growing more and more curious. Just what Breathing Technique are you cultivating?”

”A secret!”

Roy shrugged, replying casually.

He could have just made up a name to fool Sandru, but he didn’t feel like wasting the brain cells.

”Fine, don’t tell me.”

”Let’s get down to business. When are you planning to leave for the Royal Capital?”

Sandru continued to ask.

”I’ll set out tomorrow.”

Roy replied.

Hearing his answer, Catherine looked at him with an expectant expression and quickly said, ”Since you’re going to the Royal Capital tomorrow, why not accept the mission to assassinate Count Rock Lion tonight?”

”With your current strength, assassinating him would be a simple matter.”

Catherine was right. With his current strength, assassinating Count Rock Lion really wouldn’t take much effort.

However, Roy still had no intention of killing Count Rock Lion just yet.

The reason was simple.

If Count Rock Lion died, Yorkshire would descend into chaos.

Although Count Rock Lion was no model nobleman, there was no denying that his very existence maintained a large degree of stability in Yorkshire.

Without him keeping everyone in check, the Viscounts and Barons of Yorkshire who held generational grudges would have started fighting long ago.

Not only that, but the Counts from the neighboring counties had long been waiting to sink their claws in.

If Yorkshire fell into chaos, the Wesley Clan wouldn’t be able to stay out of it.

”Now is not the time. Let’s talk about it after the war is over.”

Roy said slowly.

”Alright!”

”Then let him live a little longer!”

Catherine sighed helplessly.

Roy shifted his gaze from Catherine back to Sandru and said, ”I’m planning to exchange for some Secret Techniques. Do you have any recommendations?”

”Secret Techniques?”

”Hold on, let me take a look!”

Sandru got up, walked to the bookshelf, opened a hidden compartment, and started rummaging inside.

After a dozen seconds or so, he returned to Roy with a scroll and handed it to him.

”This is a High Level Secret Techniques Exchange Scroll. See if there are any Secret Techniques you want inside.”

Sandru said to Roy.

Roy nodded, opened the Scroll, and quickly scanned its contents.

Fierce Strike, Flame Slash, Frost Slash, Tornado Slash, Earth-Splitting Slash, Earth Trample, Heart of Fury, Blood Mark, Dragon’s Battle Roar!

The Scroll didn’t list many Secret Techniques, only nine.

Although there weren’t many, these nine Secret Techniques were worthy of being called High Level Secret Techniques.

Compared to the Secret Techniques he’d seen before, these nine were clearly much better.

If he had enough Contribution Points, he wouldn’t mind exchanging for all nine of them.

But unfortunately, with his current Contribution Points, he could only exchange for three at most.

’I should have taken on more missions!’

Roy complained to himself.

Seeing the conflicted look on his face, Sandru said with a smile, ”How about you reconsider taking that mission to assassinate Count Rock Lion now?”

”There’s no need. I can’t cultivate all the Secret Techniques at once anyway.”

”Frost Slash, Blood Mark, and Dragon’s Battle Roar.”

”I’ll take these three Secret Techniques.”

Roy closed the Scroll and handed it back to Sandru, speaking slowly.

Sandru didn’t try to tempt him into taking the mission again. He went back to the hidden compartment in the bookshelf and took out three pieces of parchment.

”After exchanging for these three Secret Techniques, you’ll only have 200 Contribution Points left.”

Sandru handed the parchments to Roy.

Roy nodded, took the parchments, and gave them a quick glance.

After confirming Sandru hadn’t given him the wrong ones, he put the three parchments away, stood up, and said, ”I’m off. See you after the war!”

With that, he left the office under the watchful eyes of Sandru and Catherine.

Once he was out of sight, Sandru said with deep emotion, ”An 18-year-old Black Iron Great Knight... As long as he stays alive, it’s only a matter of time before the Wesley Clan becomes a Duke Clan!”

...

Upon returning to Ice Wolf Castle, Roy didn’t hesitate. He immediately entered Chaos Square and sat down in the center.

Then, he took out the parchments that recorded the cultivation methods for Frost Slash, Blood Mark, and Dragon’s Battle Roar, and began to study them seriously.

The Exchange Scroll had only given a simple introduction to the effects of these three Secret Techniques, with no other information.

He quickly finished reading through the cultivation methods for the three Secret Techniques.

Frost Slash: An offensive Secret Technique. A Fighting Qi Slash imbued with the Power of Frost.

Blood Mark: An amplification-type Secret Technique. By burning one’s own blood, it greatly enhances physical attributes and Fighting Qi for a short period.

Dragon’s Battle Roar: An offensive Secret Technique. A sonic attack that imitates the roar of a Giant Dragon, somewhat similar to the Lion’s Roar from the Martial World.

Aside from Blood Mark, which required no additional materials for cultivation, both Frost Slash and Dragon’s Battle Roar needed special materials to assist in their practice.

Frost Slash required a rare material called Frost Vine.

The Frost Vine had to be refined into a special Secret Medicine. Consuming it would grant one’s Fighting Qi a faint Frost attribute.

Besides Frost Slash, once his Fighting Qi possessed the Frost attribute, he could also develop other attacks imbued with the Power of Frost.

What kind of Frost moves he could develop would depend on his own talent.

As for Dragon’s Battle Roar, it required Dragon Blood.

The higher the quality of the Dragon Blood used, the better the cultivation effect and the more powerful the Dragon’s Battle Roar.

According to the records in the cultivation method, using the blood of Five-Colored Dragons or Metal Dragons produced the best results for cultivating Dragon’s Battle Roar.

This was especially true for the blood of adult Five-Colored Dragons and Metal Dragons.

If he couldn’t find the blood of an adult Five-Colored Dragon or Metal Dragon, the blood of a Young Dragon or a Juvenile Dragon would also work.

If it was impossible to find a true Giant Dragon, the blood of Sub-dragon Species like the Two-legged Flying Dragon, Earth Dragon, or Sea Dragon Beast would suffice.

However, using the blood of a Sub-dragon Species would certainly not be as effective as using the blood of a Giant Dragon.

Even if he succeeded in cultivating Dragon’s Battle Roar, its power would be greatly diminished.

After reading the cultivation method for Dragon’s Battle Roar, Roy knew that it definitely wasn’t a Secret Technique invented by the Knights of this continent.

True Giant Dragons didn’t exist on this continent, only Sub-dragon Species like the Two-legged Flying Dragon, Earth Dragon, and Sea Dragon Beast.

After some thought, Roy decided to cultivate Dragon’s Battle Roar first.

Normally, without Frost Vine and Dragon Blood, he could only cultivate Blood Mark right now.

But he didn’t think that was the case.

The cultivation of a Breathing Technique also required a corresponding Secret Medicine.

But inside Chaos Square, the presence or absence of a Secret Medicine didn’t affect the cultivation of a Breathing Technique.

From a certain point of view, Frost Vine and Dragon Blood were also Secret Medicines.

’Since Chaos Square can solve the need for Secret Medicines for Breathing Techniques, then there’s a high probability it can also solve the need for Secret Medicines for cultivating Secret Techniques.’

Having made his decision, Roy got up and went to a pile of miscellaneous items in the corner of the square. He stored the parchments detailing the cultivation methods for Frost Slash, Blood Mark, and Dragon’s Battle Roar inside a box.

Then, he returned to the center of the square and began cultivating Dragon’s Battle Roar.
