Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: A Dark and Windy Night for Murder

Not good!

The moment Roy twisted his wrist, a strong premonition of death flashed through Baron Red Eagle’s mind.

Without hesitation, he pushed off hard with his legs, throwing himself aside and caring little for his image.

Though the movement was clumsy, his intuition had undoubtedly saved his life, allowing him to evade Roy’s Fighting Qi Slash by a hair’s breadth.

Baron Red Eagle had dodged it.

The Clan Knights behind him were not so lucky.

SHHNK!

The meter-long White Fighting Qi Slash struck a Middle Tier Knight behind Baron Red Eagle like a bolt of lightning. It sliced effortlessly through his body, cutting him in two at the waist!

Roy’s White Fighting Qi looked unremarkable.

But in reality, this was Fighting Qi fused from the five Life Seeds of the Ice Wolf Species, Giant Elephant Species, Black Crow Species, Shadow Leopard Species, and Iron Claw Bear Species.

The color of the Fighting Qi was indeed the most ordinary and common white.

But its power far surpassed that of an Ordinary Level Breathing Technique.

It wasn’t just a Middle Tier Knight; even a Peak Knight would be severely injured if struck head-on by Roy’s Fighting Qi Slash.

If the opponent’s Fighting Qi strength was insufficient, a single strike could be fatal.

Roy ignored the Middle Tier Knight who had been sliced in two and lunged toward Baron Red Eagle.

In an instant, he was before Baron Red Eagle, who had just regained his balance. He unleashed a lightning-fast swing with the Fine Steel Cross Sword in his hand.

He didn’t use another Fighting Qi Slash, instead executing a flawless, textbook Horizontal Slash.

Baron Red Eagle saw Roy approach, but he had no time for any other move. He could only hold his Red Eagle Sword vertically before him, frantically unleashing his Red Eagle Fighting Qi. He attempted to block Roy’s Horizontal Slash with his blade, now wreathed in Red Eagle Fighting Qi.

It was a fine idea, but reality was cruel!

Roy gave the Red Eagle Sword no chance to block. The instant his Fine Steel Cross Sword was about to make contact, he switched his attack with lightning speed, changing the Horizontal Slash into a Vertical Slash.

SHHNK!

The Fine Steel Cross Sword, wreathed in White Fighting Qi, struck Baron Red Eagle’s shoulder like a bolt of white lightning, slicing down from his shoulder through his entire body.

Though Baron Red Eagle wore armor and had unleashed his own Fighting Qi, it did nothing to alter his fate.

Like the Middle Tier Knight from before, Baron Red Eagle was also split in two. An expression of indignation and terror frozen on his face, he collapsed to the ground, his life ending in an utterly ignominious way.

After killing Baron Red Eagle, Roy didn’t leave Red Eagle Castle immediately. Instead, he went after the Baron’s Captain of the Personal Guard, Bentley Knight.

Bentley Knight was also a High Tier Knight, and several years younger than Baron Red Eagle.

After becoming an Official Knight, he had come to the Knight Clan. Starting as an overlooked Initial Tier Knight, he had spent over twenty years working his way up, step by step, to the position of Captain of the Personal Guard.

Bentley Knight used every ounce of his skill to fend off Roy’s assault.

Even so, he didn’t last any longer than Baron Red Eagle.

Less than three seconds!

Roy’s Fine Steel Cross Sword slashed across his neck, beheading him in a single strike!

Inertia sent Bentley Knight’s head flying high into the air, while blood showered down from the stump of his neck.

Before his head and headless body could hit the ground, Roy, having accomplished his objective, left Red Eagle Castle, striding away and vanishing from everyone’s sight.

For the people of the Knight Clan, this was a day they would never forget.

Because on this day, they not only lost Baron Red Eagle, but also all the High Tier Knights in their clan.

...

「A few hours later.」

Having departed from Red Eagle Castle and crossed the entire Ice Wolf Domain, Roy arrived outside Giant Dog Castle in the Giant Dog Domain.

The bright moonlight draped Giant Dog Castle in a silvery cloak. The soldiers on night watch stood on the walls, chatting idly.

The night wind brought a chill, making the flames of bonfires and torches dance.

A warm, orange glow emanated from some of the windows in the main keep, and the faint sound of music drifted from the dining hall.

At this moment, Giant Dog Castle exuded an air of peace and tranquility.

’A moonless, windy night... perfect for murder!’

Roy wasted no time. Releasing his Fighting Qi, he walked straight toward Giant Dog Castle.

Soon, the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of Giant Dog Castle vanished without a trace.

The sound of horns signaling an enemy attack and the shouts of soldiers soon echoed throughout the entire castle.

These sounds did not last long, coming to an abrupt halt after just two or three minutes.

In their place were miserable cries and furious curses.

Roy paid no mind to these cries and curses and began his journey back to Redwood City.

Just like Baron Red Eagle, Baron Giant Dog was easily killed.

So as not to show favoritism, after killing Baron Giant Dog, he also killed the Baron’s second son, the High Tier Knight Jael Sheen.

Both the Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan had only two High Tier Knights.

The only difference was that the other High Tier Knight in the Knight Clan was the Captain of the Personal Guard, Bentley Knight.

Whereas the second High Tier Knight in the Sheen Clan was Baron Giant Dog’s second son, Jael Sheen.

The assassination of Baron Giant Dog went just as Roy had expected.

If there was any difference, it was that Baron Giant Dog’s condition was even worse than he had anticipated.

As a High Tier Knight, Baron Giant Dog had only displayed strength slightly greater than that of a Middle Tier Knight.

Clearly, the attack from half a year ago had left Baron Giant Dog with an unhealable internal injury.

...

「A little over two hours later.」

「Redwood City’s South District, the Cuckoo Inn.」

Roy lay in the bathtub in the bathroom, his eyes closed, relaxing his body and mind.

After killing, as long as the conditions were right, he would always take a bath.

On one hand, it was to relax his body and mind.

On the other hand, it was to wash away the psychological scent of blood and his murderous aura.

After soaking in a hot bath for about half an hour, Roy got up and left the bathroom.

After changing into clean clothes, he went to Chaos Square and began his Cultivation of the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method.

He hadn’t mastered any Magic yet, so the Spiritual Power he cultivated could only be used to concoct Potions. However, he still had no intention of stopping his Cultivation of the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method.

After all, the higher his Spiritual Power, the higher his success rate in concocting Potions.

Besides, with high Spiritual Power, learning Magic in the future would be much easier.

「Ice Wolf Castle.」

「The study.」

Tony sat behind a desk, a book as thick as a brick in front of him.

His gaze wasn’t on the book, but out the study window.

CREAK!

Just then, the study door was slowly pushed open, and Erin, draped in a black robe, entered.

”He won’t be back until noon tomorrow at the earliest. You aren’t planning to sit here until then, are you?”

Erin came to stand before Tony and said in a gentle voice.

”You go on to bed. I’ll just read a few more pages and then come.”

Tony replied.

Erin glanced down at the book in front of Tony and continued, ”You were looking at this page when I came in an hour ago.”

”And you’re still looking at it now.”

Caught by Erin, Tony looked embarrassed. He said slowly, ”This is the longest he’s ever been away. I wonder if he’s adjusting well to being out on his own.”

Erin shook her head and sighed helplessly.

”He’s a grown man now. You should have more faith in him.”

Tony fell silent.

After a few seconds, he stood up, walked over to Erin, and said, ”It’s getting late. Let’s go back and rest.”

”Okay!”

Erin nodded and took Tony’s right arm.

...

「The next morning.」

After a full night of cultivating the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method in Chaos Square, Roy returned to his inn room.

After putting on his silver armor, he went down to the inn’s main hall and ordered breakfast.

A server quickly brought his breakfast over.

”The rest is a tip for you.”

Roy took out a Silver Coin and handed it to the server in front of him.

”Thank you, milord.”

The server took the Silver Coin with a beaming smile and gave Roy a slight bow.

Roy said no more and began to enjoy his breakfast.

Just as he was about to finish his breakfast, a conversation between guests at a nearby table caught his attention.

”Did you hear? Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog were killed by the Dark Night Knight last night.”

”Where’d you hear that?”

”It’s all over the streets. You’ll hear it if you just ask around.”

”Only someone like you would fall for a rumor like that. A while ago, people were saying the Dark Night Knight was Count Rock Lion.”

”This time is different. It’s real. The Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan have already sent people to Rock Lion Castle to ask Count Rock Lion for help.”

”I heard the Dark Night Knight isn’t just a Peak Knight, but one of the best among them. Are they trying to get Count Rock Lion to deal with the Dark Night Knight personally?”

”Who knows? But even if Count Rock Lion kills the Dark Night Knight, things won’t be easy for the Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan from now on.”

”Are you saying you want things to go well for them?”

”Of course not! The more miserable those nobles are, the happier I am!”

”Hahaha, me too!”
