Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Fighting Qi Slash, Red Eagle Sword

Unlike the Wesley Clan, which had few members, the Knight Clan was a very typical noble family.

Baron Red Eagle had four wives, seven sons, five daughters, and six grandchildren.

Although he had seven sons, all but the eldest, Edel, were useless—the sort of commonplace wastrels often found in noble families.

If the enemy attacking Red Eagle Castle right now were anyone other than the Dark Night Knight, Baron Red Eagle would not have sent Edel to the secret passage.

Edel’s Cultivation Talent wasn’t particularly high, but he had managed to cultivate to the level of a Middle Tier Knight. He possessed a decent amount of combat strength and could have stayed behind to fight the enemy.

However, the one attacking Red Eagle Castle just so happened to be the Dark Night Knight.

After being severely wounded by the Dark Night Knight six months ago, Baron Red Eagle had immediately sent people to gather intelligence on him, wanting to find out who he really was.

It would have been better if he hadn’t investigated.

Once he learned about the Dark Night Knight, Baron Red Eagle knew he stood little chance of getting revenge.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t considered fighting fire with fire by hiring others to assassinate the Dark Night Knight.

But not a single Bounty Hunter or Assassin in Redwood City was willing to accept his commission.

A man’s reputation precedes him.

The Dark Night Knight had become the most famous Bounty Hunter in Redwood City in just six short months, and he had done it on the back of one Official Knight’s life after another.

Roy himself hadn’t kept a detailed count of how many Official Knights he had killed under his alias, the Dark Night Knight.

However, the other Bounty Hunters and the idle gossips of Redwood City had kept track for him.

From the time the Dark Night Knight first accepted a commission to the present, the number of Official Knights who had died at his hands had reached 31.

Among them were 17 Initial Tier Knights, 9 Middle Tier Knights, and 5 High Tier Knights.

If he hadn’t become increasingly ”picky” later on and drastically reduced the number of commissions he took, the number of Official Knights he’d killed would have at least doubled.

While sending people to investigate the Dark Night Knight, Baron Red Eagle had also made a surprising discovery: Baron Giant Dog had also been attacked by the Dark Night Knight.

Not only that, but just like him, Baron Giant Dog had only barely survived because the other Knights in his castle had sacrificed their lives to save him.

After discovering that Baron Giant Dog had also been gravely wounded by the Dark Night Knight, Baron Red Eagle suspected that Tony had hired the Dark Night Knight to assassinate them.

However, after contacting Sir Adam and learning of Tony’s whereabouts for the past month or two, he dismissed this theory.

Besides, if Tony had really hired the Dark Night Knight, he would have certainly made another move after they were both severely wounded.

Seeing that Edel still stood his ground, unwilling to leave, Baron Red Eagle’s expression darkened. He bellowed, ”Go now! That’s an order!”

Edel still wanted to say something.

However, after seeing the stern expression on Baron Red Eagle’s face, he finally nodded and turned to leave the study.

「Outside Red Eagle Castle.」

Under the watchful eyes of the castle soldiers, Roy, wielding his Fine Steel Cross Sword, unleashed his white, flame-like Fighting Qi.

Once the Fighting Qi covered his entire body, he charged toward Red Eagle Castle without a moment’s hesitation.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...

The soldiers on the castle walls drew their bows and fired, loosing a volley of Arrows that flew swiftly toward Roy.

Roy paid no mind to the incoming rain of arrows, charging straight for the main gate of Red Eagle Castle.

With his current level of Fighting Qi, the Arrows fired by ordinary soldiers couldn’t even break through his defense.

Only Arrows fired by Official Knights had a chance of piercing the Fighting Qi protecting his body.

In the blink of an eye, Roy reached the main gate of Red Eagle Castle.

Fighting Qi Slash!

The Fine Steel Cross Sword, wreathed in White Fighting Qi, swung out like lightning, unleashing a crescent-shaped slash of Fighting Qi!

BOOM!

A massive impact suddenly resounded!

The Fighting Qi Slash slammed viciously into the castle’s main gate, blasting it open with unstoppable, tyrannical force!

The Fighting Qi Slash was not a unique technique developed by Roy; it was a move that all Peak Knights could perform.

Upon advancing to High Tier Knight, one could master the skill of wreathing a weapon in Fighting Qi, thereby increasing its Attack Power.

After advancing to Peak Knight, one could take it a step further and release the Fighting Qi wreathed around the weapon.

People’s Physiques can’t all be lumped together.

The same is true for the power of a Fighting Qi Slash!

Although the Fighting Qi Slash didn’t appear on his Skill Proficiency Panel, the one Roy executed was far more powerful than that of other Peak Knights.

The more Fighting Qi wreathed around the weapon, the stronger the resulting Fighting Qi Slash!

Roy was not yet a Black Iron Great Knight, but the intensity and volume of his Fighting Qi were no weaker than any Black Iron Great Knight’s.

In other words, the Fighting Qi Slash he just unleashed was no different in power from one executed by a Black Iron Great Knight.

If even that couldn’t blast open the gates of Red Eagle Castle, he would be far too pathetic.

Once the gate was blasted open, Roy entered as if walking through an unguarded land, reaping the lives of the surrounding soldiers like the god of death.

SHINK SHINK SHINK SHINK SHINK...

His Fine Steel Cross Sword, wreathed in White Fighting Qi, sliced through the soldiers’ bodies as easily as a knife through a cream cake.

In less than ten seconds, more than twenty soldiers had died by his hand.

Dismembered corpses!

Agonized, desperate wails!

The once clean and tidy plaza was now littered with bodies, a complete and utter mess in the blink of an eye!

Seeing this, the other soldiers retreated without any hesitation.

Although Roy had only killed just over twenty men, it was enough to terrify them.

’A month’s salary is only a dozen or so Silver Coins!’

’Is it really worth dying for?!’

Only an Official Knight can fight an Official Knight!

This was a well-known fact on this continent.

Roy didn’t pursue them. He stood in the blood-drenched plaza and waited patiently.

Before long, Baron Red Eagle, clad in a suit of red armor, appeared in his line of sight, leading a group of Official Knights.

After sizing him up, Baron Red Eagle spoke, his face filled with killing intent, ”Your Excellency, don’t push things too far!”

Roy said nothing. He simply raised his left hand and gave him the middle finger.

”Good! Very good!”

”Since Your Excellency insists on making an enemy of the Knight Clan, don’t blame us for ganging up on you!”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Baron Red Eagle drew the red Thrusting Sword with the golden-yellow guard from his waist.

The Red Eagle Sword!

The Thrusting Sword that Baron Red Eagle had drawn was none other than the Red Eagle Sword, the heirloom of the Knight Clan, passed down through generations.

In terms of Level, the Knight Clan’s Red Eagle Breathing Technique, like the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique, was an Ordinary Level Bloodline Breathing Technique.

But the Red Eagle Breathing Technique was more valuable than the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique.

The reason was very simple.

The Red Eagle Breathing Technique also came with its own matching Red Eagle Swordsmanship.

After drawing the Red Eagle Sword, Baron Red Eagle didn’t hesitate. He immediately unleashed his red Red Eagle Fighting Qi and took the lead, charging toward Roy.

Without needing his order, Bentley Knight and the others also released their Fighting Qi, followed close behind, and swarmed forward.

Although he was alone, Roy paid no mind to the combined attack from Baron Red Eagle and his men.

The Red Eagle Sword thrust toward Roy’s throat, as fast as a bolt of Lightning!

CLANG!

A crisp clang of metal on metal rang out!

With a casual flick of his wrist, Roy’s Fine Steel Cross Sword blocked the Red Eagle Sword.

The next second, he twisted his wrist, and the Fine Steel Cross Sword carved a graceful arc as it swung in a Diagonal Slash toward Baron Red Eagle.

Fighting Qi Slash!

A crescent-shaped slash of White Fighting Qi shot out in an instant!

...
