Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Four-armed Demon Ape, the Dark Night Knight’s Instant Kill

Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog were both High Tier Knights.

At the time, Roy was also a High Tier Knight.

Normally, it should have been impossible for him to severely injure Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog inside their own castles.

Because their castles didn’t just have cavalry, infantry, and Archers, but also other Initial Tier and Middle Tier Knights.

However, Roy had accomplished it with ease.

According to the ranking standards for Knights, he was indeed a High Tier Knight at the time.

But unlike those High Tier Knights who only cultivated one Breathing Technique, he cultivated four different ones simultaneously.

In terms of power, his strength at the time was only slightly inferior to that of a Peak Knight.

As for now, he was undeniably a Peak Knight—and one of the very best among them.

Back in his bedroom, Roy took off his black Hunter’s Clothing and changed into a clean, white Noble Robe.

Then, he headed for the dining hall on the castle’s first floor.

On his way to the dining hall, the maids and servants he passed all bowed to him.

Soon, he arrived at the dining hall.

Beside a long dining table laden with food sat a young woman with fair skin, an oval face, and a cascade of wavy golden hair, dressed in a gorgeous black gown.

This young woman was none other than the current Baroness, Erin Adams.

The original owner of his body and Tony’s birth mother had passed away when they were children.

”Where’s Tony?”

”Is he still in the study handling the domain’s affairs?”

Roy sat down across from Erin and spoke.

As the family’s second son, he was not qualified to sit in the main seat at the head of the table, to Erin’s right.

That was Baron Ice Wolf’s seat.

”A man-eating Four-armed Demon Ape has appeared near Bathtub Town. Tony took Sir Adam and the others and headed there.”

Erin looked at Roy with a cold expression and spoke slowly.

She was like this with everyone except Tony.

Roy paid no mind to Erin’s cold expression as a thought immediately flashed through his mind.

’A man-eating Four-armed Demon Ape?’

’Could it be the one that appeared near Redwood City before?’

’If it really is that one, then Tony and Adam are in danger!’

Four-armed Demon Apes were not common.

Man-eating ones were even rarer.

Roy had only ever heard of one man-eating Four-armed Demon Ape that roamed Yorkshire.

That was no ordinary Four-armed Demon Ape, but a Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape that had killed a High Tier Knight.

A few days ago, when he had secretly gone to Yorkshire Capital City Redwood City, he had seen the bounty poster issued by Count Rock Lion.

Gold Coins!

Anyone who brought the corpse of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape to Count Rock Lion would receive a reward of 200 Gold Coins!

Looking at the number alone, 200 Gold Coins didn’t seem like much.

But one had to realize that the Ice Wolf Domain’s annual income was just over 100 Gold Coins.

Although he didn’t know if the Four-armed Demon Ape Tony and the others had gone to hunt was the one from Count Rock Lion’s bounty, Roy didn’t hesitate for long. He said to Erin, ”I don’t have much of an appetite tonight. I’m going back to my room. Take your time eating.”

Without waiting for Erin’s reply, he left the dining hall and returned to his bedroom on the castle’s second floor.

After closing his bedroom door, he immediately took off his Noble Robe and changed into a black, form-fitting outfit suitable for combat.

Then, he went to the window and, without a second thought, jumped out.

Relying on the physical attributes of a Peak Knight and the enhancement from his Fighting Qi, Roy left the castle silently, without alerting anyone.

After leaving the castle, he first retrieved a white mask with red stripes from the Chaos Square and put it on, then sprinted toward Bathtub Town.

Bathtub Town was only about thirty kilometers from Ice Wolf Castle.

At Roy’s speed, traveling at full tilt, it would only take him a little over ten minutes.

He released his White Fighting Qi, which enveloped his entire body like a Flame.

A Middle Tier Knight could release their Fighting Qi.

But only upon advancing to Peak Knight could one cover their entire body with Fighting Qi.

A Great Knight, a rank above Peak Knight, could even condense their released Fighting Qi into weapons or armor, further strengthening their Attack Power and Defense Power.

A little over ten minutes wasn’t long, but it wasn’t short, either.

Just as Roy was about to reach Bathtub Town, he stopped his high-speed sprint and ducked into the forest beside the road.

Half a minute later, a troop of cavalry that had just finished a battle passed by in front of him.

This...

’Am I a step too late?’

Upon seeing the troop, Roy recognized them at a glance as the castle’s cavalry, the most elite soldiers of Ice Wolf Castle.

He ignored the dejected-looking cavalrymen riding at the front, his gaze falling on a man in the middle of the formation who wore silver-white armor and a red cape.

This man, who bore a strong resemblance to Roy, was none other than the current Baron Ice Wolf, Tony.

Tony’s armor was stained with a lot of blood, and he looked utterly exhausted.

However, upon seeing him still mounted on his black Warhorse instead of being carried back to Ice Wolf Castle, Roy finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Although he wasn’t Tony’s biological brother, he had to admit that Tony was a very good older brother.

’Tony is still alive!’

’Sir Adam is alive too!’

Although they had lost some cavalry and infantry, the situation wasn’t too terrible.

’At least, that’s how it seems for now.’

After Tony and his party passed by, Roy thought for a moment and decided to continue toward Bathtub Town.

At Tony’s and the others’ current pace, it would be at least an hour before they returned to Ice Wolf Castle.

Over an hour was more than enough time for him to go to Bathtub Town, kill the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, and get back to Ice Wolf Castle before Tony and the others.

Roy was now certain that the Four-armed Demon Ape in Bathtub Town was the very same Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape from Count Rock Lion’s bounty.

Otherwise, Tony and Sir Adam wouldn’t be in their current state.

Tony and Sir Adam were both Middle Tier Knights.

Working together, they would have no trouble dealing with an ordinary Four-armed Demon Ape.

Having made his decision, Roy retrieved a suit of black armor and a Fine Steel Cross Sword with a Ruby-inlaid hilt from the Chaos Square.

Six months ago, a mysterious and powerful Bounty Hunter had appeared in Redwood City.

Because he wore black armor and only appeared at night, this Bounty Hunter became known as the ”Dark Night Knight”.

The Dark Night Knight was an alternate identity Roy had deliberately created for himself.

Once fully geared up and transformed into the renowned Dark Night Knight of Redwood City, Roy didn’t hesitate for a second, immediately heading for Bathtub Town.

Without much effort, he found the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape in a forest near Bathtub Town.

Pitch-black fur, a chiseled and powerful physique, and arms thicker than a normal person’s waist.

Roy knew of Four-armed Demon Apes, but he had never seen one alive.

Upon seeing this mutated one, the first thought that came to his mind was that it was an Otherworld version of a gorilla—enlarged, enhanced, and with two pairs of arms.

To an ordinary person, a Four-armed Demon Ape was an absolutely lethal Fierce Beast.

An ordinary adult Four-armed Demon Ape would stand over three meters tall and possess strength comparable to a Middle Tier Knight.

But this Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape was clearly a size larger.

If a normal Four-armed Demon Ape was like a child in its early teens,

then this one was a fully developed, powerful adult.

Besides its larger size, this Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape had another distinguishing feature.

It was one-eyed!

Its right eye had been blinded!

After finding the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, Roy—wearing his white mask and black armor, and holding his Fine Steel Cross Sword—calmly appeared in its line of sight.

Although this Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape had a record of killing a High Tier Knight, for Roy, dealing with it wouldn’t take much effort.

Six months ago, he had possessed power approaching that of a Peak Knight.

Now, not only had he raised his Ice Wolf Breathing Technique to the Tier Five Limit, but he had also obtained a special effect: Basic Speed.

If he still couldn’t take down this Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape even with all that, he would be pathetic.

Upon seeing Roy, the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, having just finished its battle with Tony and his men, let out a deafening roar. It bared its sharp fangs, stood up on its hind legs, and pounded its four thick arms against its chest, producing a dull thudding sound like war drums.

Its body was already larger than that of a typical Four-armed Demon Ape.

Now standing, it looked like a giant from myth and legend.

Roy paid no attention to the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s roar and gave his sword a casual flourish.

”I just happened to finish cultivating my Ice Wolf Breathing Technique to its limit today. You’ll do nicely as a test subject.”

The next second, a burst of Fighting Qi far stronger than that of other Peak Knights erupted from him. Roy shot toward the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape like a cannonball fired from its barrel.

SHIING!

The Ruby-inlaid Fine Steel Cross Sword drew a graceful arc through the air, flashing like Lightning as it sliced across the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s neck.

The Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape—the one that had killed a High Tier Knight, forced Tony and Adam to retreat empty-handed, and prompted Count Rock Lion to offer a 200 Gold Coin bounty—had no time to do anything before the Fine Steel Cross Sword slit its throat. Blood sprayed out like rain, dyeing the surrounding grass red.

Bathed in the rain of blood, Roy remained untouched by a single drop.

The White Fighting Qi covering his body blocked all the splattering blood.

Landing back on the ground, he didn’t even glance at the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape. He casually flicked the blood from his blade and sheathed it with a sharp *SHICK*.

The next moment, the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, which had resembled an ancient giant, toppled backward and crashed heavily onto the grass.

’Done. Even easier than I thought!’

Without any hesitation, Roy stored the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s corpse in the Chaos Square and started heading back to Ice Wolf Castle.
