Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Pouting and Tsundere

Noticing Roy’s gaze fall upon her neck, Catherine, who had originally intended to down the Blue Volcano in one go, set down her glass. She raised her left hand, wiped the spilled drink from her neck, and said:

”You think I don’t look much like a noble lady right now, don’t you?”

”I do.”

”Right now, you don’t give me the impression of a noble lady at all. You’re more like a female drunkard who spends all her time in taverns.”

Roy said slowly.

After coming to this world, he hadn’t come into contact with many noble ladies.

Besides those he knew only by name, like the ones he’d greeted at the coming-of-age banquet, he had only truly interacted with two noble ladies.

One was Erin, and the other was Catherine.

Although he hadn’t met many noble ladies, he only had to look at Erin’s daily life and demeanor to know what they were like in this world.

”If I could choose for myself, I’d rather be a commoner than a noble lady.”

”For a woman born into a noble family, her greatest value is in a political marriage.”

”As long as the family deems a marriage necessary, we have to marry them, even if the other person is a moron.”

”This isn’t the fate I want, and I don’t want to be a pawn my family can just move around.”

Whether from agitation or the alcohol, Catherine’s fair face grew redder and redder.

Roy watched Catherine and thought, ’Commoners have even less of a right to choose!’

Just as he was about to say something, Catherine suddenly stood up, slammed both hands on the table, and leaned over to look at Roy. With a serious expression, she said, ”You’re not a commoner. You’re a noble, too.”

”You’ve had too much to drink,” Roy replied.

”I have not! Even if I drank five glasses of Blue Volcano in a row, I could still return to my bedroom on the fourth floor of the castle without anyone noticing!”

”You must be a noble. The look in your eyes just now gave it away!”

Catherine said quickly.

”Whatever you say.”

Roy had no intention of continuing the topic and replied casually.

”You’re definitely a noble!”

”My intuition is always right. You can’t hide it from me!”

Catherine stared fixedly at Roy with her large, light-green eyes, looking as if she had already guessed who he was.

Roy didn’t speak. He just leaned back in his chair and let Catherine stare at him.

Time passed, bit by bit.

Seeing that Roy remained completely unmoved, Catherine’s gaze softened. She said in a gentle voice, ”I just want to know if you’re a noble. You’re not even willing to tell me that?”

”We’ve been through so much together. I thought we were already friends.”

When the stunningly beautiful Catherine spoke in such a coquettish, sweet tone, it was indeed easy to make one’s heart soften.

However, Roy still had no intention of telling her whether he was a noble or not.

Although there were quite a few noble families in Yorkshire, there weren’t many noble sons his age.

If he admitted to being a noble, Catherine could quickly narrow it down to him based on his age, hair color, eye color, height, and build.

”You must not act coquettishly very often. Your movements and expression are a little stiff.”

Roy said unhurriedly, looking at Catherine.

”You...”

”Fine, don’t tell me! It’s not like I really want to know who you are, I was just asking!”

”Besides, I don’t particularly trust you right now either!”

”This is my drink. If you want one, buy it yourself!”

”Hmph!”

After speaking, Catherine snatched the Blue Volcano from in front of Roy and sat back down.

Although her tone and attitude had changed, Roy found the current Catherine more charming than before.

In other words, a pouting Catherine was more attractive than a coquettish one.

Less than a minute after sitting down, Catherine already regretted it.

’How could I have said those things to him?’

’Am I really drunk?’

’That can’t be right. I haven’t even finished one glass!’

’No, I can’t let him see that I regret it!’

Catherine did her best to remain calm. She picked up the Blue Volcano she had just taken from Roy and took a very ladylike sip.

At this moment, she overlooked something very important: her current ladylike posture was in stark contrast to her previous boisterousness.

Anyone who wasn’t blind and had a normal IQ could see how unnatural she was acting.

Roy didn’t call Catherine out on it, patiently waiting for Sandru’s arrival.

Judging from the information he had so far, Sandru was most likely the person in charge of the Second Son Brotherhood in Yorkshire.

Although he hadn’t met Sandru yet, if things went as expected, Sandru would be a Peak Knight at the very least.

If the entry requirement for the Second Son Brotherhood truly was advancing to a High Tier Knight before the age of twenty-two, then there was a good chance Sandru was even a Great Knight.

Once Catherine started acting like a lady, the atmosphere in the room instantly became incredibly quiet.

Five or six minutes passed just like that, and a knock sounded at the door again.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

Hearing the knock, Catherine immediately put down the glass she had been nursing for five or six minutes—still more than half full—donned her mask, and said, ”Come in!”

Just as she finished speaking, the door was pushed open, and a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties, with a plain appearance and a somewhat frail build, appeared before Roy and Catherine.

’This is Sandru?’

Roy’s expression was one of surprise.

He didn’t know yet if this frail middle-aged man was Sandru, but he had met him before.

To be precise, he had met him several times and had even accepted a commission from him.

Speaking of which, this brought to mind the ”Flame Heart” necklace Sonia wore.

The client who had commissioned him to hunt that High Tier Knight was none other than the middle-aged man before him.

It was just that when he commissioned him, the middle-aged man had said his name was Richard.

”What took you so long? We’ve been waiting for ages!”

Catherine took off the mask she had just put on and said, annoyed.

After hearing Catherine’s words, Roy knew this middle-aged man was Sandru.

As he sized up Sandru, Sandru was also sizing him up.

Although they had met before, Sandru didn’t recognize Roy.

Or rather, he didn’t recognize him as the Dark Night Knight.

”The guest was rather difficult, so it took a little more time.”

Sandru said as he turned and closed the door.

Then, he pulled out a chair, sat down across from Roy and Catherine, and said to Roy:

”And you are, sir?”

Before Roy could answer, Catherine spoke up, ”He’s that Dark Night Knight who loves wearing a mask, afraid someone might see his real face.”

’The Dark Night Knight?’

Sandru looked at Roy with surprise.

After a few seconds, he continued, ”So you are the Dark Night Knight. Please forgive me for not recognizing you.”

”When Catherine told me a few days ago that she would recommend a very powerful Peak Knight to join the organization, I was a bit skeptical.”

”It seems I underestimated Catherine.”

Just as Sandru finished speaking, Catherine’s voice rang out.

”You didn’t underestimate me. I overestimated someone. He doesn’t want to join the organization anymore.”

’What?’

Sandru stared at Roy and Catherine, completely bewildered.

’Is it because I was a few minutes late?’

’Are young people these days all this impatient?’

Although he didn’t speak, Catherine immediately guessed what he was thinking and continued:

”It has nothing to do with you being late. He’s unwilling to reveal his true identity and will only join the organization as the Dark Night Knight.”

”I don’t trust you guys yet!”

”Those were his exact words!”

After saying this, Catherine shot Roy a displeased glare.

’So that’s what this is about!’

’And here I thought it was something serious!’

After learning that Roy’s reason for not wanting to join the Second Son Brotherhood was his desire to keep his identity hidden, Sandru said with a smile:

”The organization has never required members to join using their real identities.”

”As long as your strength and potential meet the standards, nothing else is a problem.”

”The organization doesn’t like to force its members, let alone potential members who haven’t even joined yet.”
