Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Will Rune, Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method

After putting away the materials for the Basic Healing Potion and Basic Vitality Potion, Roy retrieved the Memory Crystal Ball from a pile of junk.

The knowledge of Basic Potion Making had already been transmitted into his mind in one go.

However, the twelve Will Runes left by the Magic Potion Prince hadn’t entered his brain along with the knowledge of Basic Potion Making.

After taking out the Memory Crystal Ball, Roy went to the center of the square and sat down. He released his white, flame-like Fighting Qi, letting it envelop the Memory Crystal Ball.

The next moment, the twelve Will Runes from within the Memory Crystal Ball appeared in his ”sight.”

On the surface, these twelve Will Runes didn’t seem complex; they could even be considered somewhat simple.

In reality, however, the complexity of the Will Runes far surpassed an ordinary person’s imagination.

To use a modern analogy, the twelve Will Runes were like twelve pictures, each composed of numerous QR codes.

First, one had to memorize every detail of a Will Rune perfectly.

Then, one had to visualize the Will Rune in their mind.

This was the entire process of using Will Runes for the Cultivation of Spiritual Power.

This Cultivation method was also known as Meditation.

According to the Magic Potion Prince, once someone could perfectly memorize and reproduce four Will Runes in their mind, they could start attempting to create Basic Potions.

If one could memorize and reproduce all twelve Will Runes, their Spiritual Power would be sufficient for the needs of creating any Basic Potion.

As for successfully creating a Basic Potion, it depended not only on whether one’s total Spiritual Power and control were up to standard, but also on how proficient their crafting technique was.

If all these conditions were met, then as long as one wasn’t exceptionally unlucky, they could generally succeed in creating a Basic Potion.

Once the Will Runes from the Memory Crystal Ball appeared in his ”sight,” Roy began his first Meditation, focusing his gaze on the first Will Rune.

「Half an hour later.」

[Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method (Incomplete): Tier One (13/1000)]

’An incomplete Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method?’

Roy furrowed his brow slightly.

He didn’t know what the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method was, but he knew exactly what ”incomplete” meant.

Clearly, the twelve Will Runes in the Memory Crystal Ball were just a small part of the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method.

’Incomplete it may be, but it’s better than nothing!’

Roy quickly pushed the matter to the back of his mind, looking with satisfaction at the 13 Skill Level points he had just gained.

He didn’t know what other people’s first Meditation sessions were like.

But he was quite satisfied with his own efficiency.

’Thirteen points in half an hour means twenty-six points per hour. Assuming I meditate for ten hours a day, it would only take four days to break through to Tier Two of the incomplete Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method.’

After a moment of thought, Roy decided he would stay up all night meditating on the Will Runes.

Time trickled by.

After meditating for over six hours in the Chaos Space, Roy concluded his first Meditation session.

[Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method (Incomplete): Tier One (178/1000)]

Roy wasn’t sure by how much his Spiritual Power had increased.

However, he discovered that despite cultivating the Meditation Technique all night, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of fatigue from the lack of sleep. In fact, he felt full of energy.

Upon this realization, he quickly made a decision.

’I’ll practice the Breathing Technique during the day and the Meditation Technique at night!’

Closing the Skill Proficiency Panel, Roy stood up and stretched his limbs. He took off his Hunter’s Clothing, changed into a Noble Robe, and left the Chaos Square.

...

「Half a month flew by in the blink of an eye.」

For the next half-month, Roy stuck to his training plan like a hardcore grinder: practicing the Breathing Technique by day and the Meditation Technique by night.

A life of Cultivation was tedious.

But watching the Skill Levels of his Giant Elephant Breathing Technique and Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method constantly rise due to his hard work gave him an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

In the Chaos Square, Roy was practicing the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique, just as he always did.

For some reason—perhaps because he was also practicing the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method—his efficiency with the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique had also improved.

[Giant Elephant Breathing Technique Skill Level +329]

[Giant Elephant Breathing Technique: Tier Five (5836/10000)]

After he finished practicing the Breathing Technique for the day, the Skill Proficiency Panel immediately displayed the Skill Level he had gained.

Roy smiled with satisfaction as he glanced at the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique, which had now surpassed 5,000 Skill Level points.

At his current rate of Cultivation, he could practice the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique to the Tier Five Limit in another half-month and gain a new special effect.

If he wasn’t mistaken, the Strength Type Giant Elephant Breathing Technique would grant him the ”Basic Power” special effect.

Then, he would become a Peak Knight who possessed two special effects and had mastered two Ordinary Level Breathing Techniques to their limits.

After checking his progress on the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique, Roy took a look at the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method.

[Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method (Incomplete): Tier Four (4582/5000)]

If the efficiency of his Giant Elephant Breathing Technique Cultivation had merely improved, then the efficiency of his Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method was practically off the charts, as if he were using a cheat.

Only half a month had passed since he first started meditating.

Yet, in that short span of time, he had practiced the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method to the verge of breaking through to Tier Five.

Once the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method broke through to Tier Five, he could begin attempting to create Basic Potions.

’It feels so good to get stronger every day!’

After reveling in the feeling, Roy went to the pile of junk in the corner of the square and changed into his Noble Robe.

Then, with a mere thought, he left the Chaos Square and returned to his bedroom.

There was still more than an hour until nightfall.

Usually, he would have continued his Cultivation in the Chaos Square right up until dinner.

But not today.

Because today was his coming-of-age ceremony.

To celebrate, Tony and Erin had planned a grand birthday banquet for him.

Besides inviting the people of the Ice Wolf Domain, they had also sent invitations to a number of nobles on good terms with the Wesley Clan.

For instance, Erin’s father, Baron Giant Monster Charles!

Roy had thought Charles wouldn’t send anyone, or would at most send one of Erin’s younger brothers.

But as it turned out, Charles had not only come in person, but he had also brought two of his sons with him.

Today was the liveliest Ice Wolf Castle had been since the Old Baron passed away.

In the bathroom adjoining his bedroom, Roy lay back in the brass bathtub, enjoying a relaxing massage from Aili.

As the guest of honor, he had little interest in the impending coming-of-age banquet.

’In my opinion, this time would be better spent cultivating for a few more hours in the Chaos Square.’

He might not be interested, but Tony, Erin, and Aili were all full of anticipation for the banquet.

’The joys and sorrows of others are their own; I just find them noisy.’

The thought surfaced in Roy’s mind unbidden.
