Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Ice Wolf King, Breathing Technique Upgrade

Ice Wolf Castle.

Roy sat in the high-backed chair in his bedroom, studying the Inheritance Maps for the Bronze Bear Breathing Technique and the Giant Horned Rhinoceros Breathing Method.

After looking over the Inheritance Maps for these two Breathing Techniques in detail several times, he began to seriously ponder a question.

’Should I start cultivating these two Excellent Level Breathing Techniques right away, or should I max out the Black Crow and Shadow Leopard Breathing Techniques first?’

’Although the Black Crow and Shadow Leopard Breathing Techniques are only Ordinary Level, I can still gain special effects if I cultivate them to their limits.’

’More importantly, I’ve already reached a certain level in both of them, so I wouldn’t have to start from scratch.’

’Especially the Black Crow Breathing Technique. It’s already at Tier Five, only a little over 6,000 Cultivation Level points away from the limit.’

’At my current Cultivation efficiency, it would only take a week to get the Black Crow Breathing Technique to the Tier Five Limit.’

’Just like the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique, the Black Crow Breathing Technique is also a Speed Type Breathing Technique.’

’In other words, after I max out the Black Crow Breathing Technique to the Tier Five Limit, I’ll also gain the Basic Speed special effect.’

The main reason he considered continuing with the Black Crow Breathing Technique was to confirm a theory of his.

For instance, would special effects of the same type merge into one?

Beyond that, he also wanted to know if Breathing Techniques of the same type, once cultivated to their limits, would merge and strengthen each other, transforming into a new Breathing Technique or enhancing the original.

After a moment of thought, Roy quickly made his decision.

’As the saying goes, true knowledge comes from practice. Once I get the Black Crow Breathing Technique to the Tier Five Limit, I’ll have my answer.’

Having made his decision, Roy didn’t hesitate. He immediately entered Chaos Square and began his Cultivation of the Black Crow Breathing Technique.

「Rock Lion Castle.」

In the study on the fifth floor.

Count Rock Lion sat in the high-backed chair behind his desk, emanating a palpable killing intent. His expression was as foul as it could possibly be.

Just like last time, the Official Knights on night watch had not only failed to stop Roy from leaving, but more than ten of them had been killed by him.

Including Webb and the two High Tier Knights at the gate, the number of Official Knights from the Beluns Clan who had died at the hands of the Dark Night Knight had now reached 36.

Count Rock Lion was currently unaware that Robinson and his four men had betrayed him, much less that they had also been killed by Roy.

Otherwise, he would be even angrier right now.

Although it was frustrating, Count Rock Lion had to admit that he was currently powerless against the Dark Night Knight.

The only silver lining was that the Dark Night Knight was not yet a Great Knight.

It was perfectly normal for Count Rock Lion to think this way.

Because aside from Roy himself, no one knew that he had already advanced to become a Black Iron Great Knight.

...

「Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, a week had passed.」

Chaos Square.

Dressed all in black, Roy stood in the very center of Chaos Square, concentrating fully on his Cultivation of the Black Crow Breathing Technique.

Over the past week, aside from the Purgatory Dragon Meditation Method, he had poured all his energy into the Cultivation of the Black Crow Breathing Technique.

Half an hour later, an upgrade notification for the Black Crow Breathing Technique appeared in his vision.

[Black Crow Breathing Technique has been upgraded!]

[Black Crow Breathing Technique: Tier Five (Limit), Special Effect: Basic Speed (Can fuse with Ice Wolf Breathing Technique to upgrade)]

’Fuse with Ice Wolf Breathing Technique to upgrade?’

Upon seeing this note, Roy didn’t hesitate. He immediately opened the Skill Proficiency Panel and his gaze fell upon the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique.

[Ice Wolf Breathing Technique: Tier Five (Limit), Special Effect: Basic Speed (Can fuse with Black Crow Breathing Technique to upgrade)]

’It really can be fused for an upgrade!’

An irrepressible, satisfied smile appeared on Roy’s face.

He took a few deep breaths to calm his excitement, then quickly began to think.

After less than ten seconds of thought, he made a decision.

’Upgrade the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique!’

’The Ice Wolf Breathing Technique wasn’t just the first Breathing Technique I started cultivating, it was also the first one I maxed out.’

’If I’m going to fuse them for an upgrade, it only makes sense to use the Black Crow Breathing Technique as the material to upgrade the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique!’

As if sensing his thoughts, the Skill Proficiency Panel immediately displayed a prompt to fuse and upgrade the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique.

[Upgrade the Ice Wolf Breathing Technique?]

Without any hesitation, Roy immediately selected ”Yes”!

The moment he made his choice, the Ice Wolf Seed in his Sea of Life began a strange transformation unlike any before.

The Ice Wolf Seed, which had been orbiting the Iron Claw Bear Seed like a satellite, lunged toward the Black Crow Seed like a predatory ice wolf and shattered it on impact.

After shattering the Black Crow Seed, the Ice Wolf Seed began to devour its fragments like a black hole.

In just a few short seconds, the fragments of the Black Crow Seed were completely devoured by the Ice Wolf Seed.

After devouring the fragments of the Black Crow Seed, the Ice Wolf Seed grew to the same size as the Iron Claw Bear Seed.

At the same time, the faint roars of an Ice Wolf could be heard coming from within the Ice Wolf Seed.

As the Ice Wolf’s roars echoed, the roar of an Iron Claw Bear answered from within the Iron Claw Bear Seed.

The two roars did not last long.

After less than ten seconds, the roars of the Ice Wolf and the Iron Claw Bear faded away.

The Iron Claw Bear Seed, which had firmly occupied the center of the Sea of Life, shifted to the left side.

The Ice Wolf Seed, in turn, took up the right side of the Sea of Life.

Now that the Iron Claw Bear Seed no longer held absolute dominance, the Giant Seed and the Shadow Leopard Seed stopped orbiting it like satellites and became neutral parties within the Sea of Life.

[Ice Wolf King Breathing Method: Tier Six (1/20,000), Special Effect: Middle Level Speed]

[Middle Level Speed: Your Agility Attribute is permanently increased by 50%.]

Closing the Skill Proficiency Panel, Roy released his Fighting Qi, immediately enveloping his entire body in the white, flame-like energy.

The color of his Fighting Qi was still the most common white, showing no change.

Although he was one Life Seed short, Roy quickly discovered that the total amount and intensity of his Fighting Qi had not decreased. In fact, they had increased by about 10%.

As for his physical attributes, there was no need to test them.

He only needed to look at the description of the Middle Level Speed special effect to know how much of a boost he had received.

Retracting the Fighting Qi covering his body, Roy gazed at the gray fog that shrouded Chaos Square.

After confirming that no one else was in his bedroom, he contentedly left Chaos Square, returned to his room, and sat down in the high-backed chair.

The Ice Wolf Breathing Technique had upgraded into the Ice Wolf King Breathing Method, proving that his earlier theories were correct.

Breathing Techniques of the same level and type, once cultivated to their limits, could be fused and upgraded with the help of the Skill Proficiency Panel to break their original limits.

As for whether Breathing Techniques of the same type but different levels could be fused and upgraded, Roy couldn’t be sure yet.

’If they can, it would make things much more convenient. If not, then I’ll first need to upgrade the Giant Elephant Breathing Technique and the Shadow Leopard Breathing Technique to the Excellent Level, and then use them as upgrade materials for the Iron Claw Bear Breathing Technique and the Ice Wolf King Breathing Method.’

After resting in the high-backed chair for a few minutes, Roy got up, opened the door, and called Aili into the bedroom.

Before long, sounds not suitable for children could be heard from inside the bedroom.
