Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Rumors and Gossip, Eternal Clean Technique

Early the next morning.

Roy slowly woke up in his bedroom.

He didn’t get up right away. Instead, he turned his head to look at Aili, who was lying beside him, still fast asleep, her finely-sculpted, fair shoulders exposed.

After seeing Tony last night, he had returned to his bedroom to continue reading.

Before bed, he had summoned Aili, who had her hair in pigtails, to his room for a round of stimulating and intense ”bedtime exercise.”

Aili had become his predecessor’s personal maid three years ago.

But his predecessor had never ”devoured” Aili.

Like Roy, his predecessor had been a man of principle.

He wouldn’t touch a minor!

Roy had transmigrated to this world a year ago.

But it wasn’t until a month ago, after Aili turned eighteen and officially became an adult, that he finally ”devoured” her, a girl two months older than his predecessor.

Having absorbed his predecessor’s memories, Roy knew that the original Roy had the same idea—he had planned to ”devour” Aili after she came of age.

However, his predecessor could never have imagined that he would die suddenly from a heart attack one night a year ago.

Even though this was a backward feudal kingdom and not a modern society, his predecessor still adhered to the principle of not touching minors.

It wasn’t just his predecessor; Tony shared the same principle.

They were indeed sons of nobility.

But compared to other young nobles, their moral standards were much higher.

Furthermore, the men of the Wesley Clan had little interest in having multiple wives and concubines.

After the birth mother of his predecessor and Tony passed away, the Old Baron never remarried, having only one wife from beginning to end.

And after Tony married Erin, he had absolutely no intention of taking another wife.

The nobles of this world were generally polygamous.

Take Erin, for example.

She had four younger brothers and two younger sisters.

But only one of her younger brothers shared the same mother and father.

Glancing at the still-sleeping Aili, Roy gently moved the arm and leg she had draped over him.

His movements were very light.

But they still woke the soundly sleeping Aili.

Blinking sleepily at Roy for a few seconds, Aili finally became fully awake and said at once, ”Good morning, Young Master Roy.”

Without waiting for Roy’s response, she threw off the covers, got out of bed, and began quickly picking up her scattered clothes from the floor to put them on.

In less than a minute, she was fully dressed.

Then, holding Roy’s clothes in her hands, she came before him to help him get dressed.

Once Roy was fully dressed, Aili gave him a slight bow and left the bedroom.

「A few minutes later.」

She returned to the bedroom carrying a brass basin filled with warm water and toiletries.

When he had first transmigrated to this world, Roy wasn’t used to being served like this.

But within a few days, he had adapted to this life perfectly.

For one, it truly felt good to be waited on.

Especially being served by a beautiful young woman like Aili.

Aili’s looks and figure were in no way inferior to those of pretty influencers who used heavy beauty filters.

She could even hold her own against B- or C-list actresses.

For another, he didn’t want anyone to notice that anything was amiss.

After he finished washing up with Aili’s assistance, Roy said to her, ”Thank you for your hard work.”

”It’s my duty,” Aili replied quickly.

She didn’t particularly resent being sent to Ice Wolf Castle to be a personal maid.

Though she was young, she knew that the Clover Trading Company needed the support of Baron Ice Wolf.

Besides, Roy’s looks were also very much to her liking.

Roy pinched Aili’s plump, fair cheek, then left the bedroom and headed for the dining hall on the first floor.

Soon, he arrived at the dining hall.

’Where is everyone?’

A steaming hot breakfast was already laid out on the long dining table.

But neither Tony nor Erin was present.

”Where are the master and mistress?”

Roy asked a dining hall maid.

”The master’s breakfast has been sent to his room. The mistress has not eaten yet.”

The maid, dressed in a classic black and white uniform, replied quickly.

Roy asked no more questions. He went to his seat, sat down, and began to eat his breakfast.

After breakfast, he went to Tony’s bedroom and found him lying in bed, dressed in his sleepwear.

As soon as he entered Tony’s bedroom, he was hit by the strong scent of medicinal herbs.

Before he could speak, Tony said with a smile, ”It’s nothing serious. That beast from last night just hit me in the chest and broke a few ribs. I’ll be fine after some rest.”

That’s what he said, but Roy could tell at a glance that Tony’s injuries were not that simple.

Tony was a Middle Tier Knight.

If it were just a few broken ribs, he wouldn’t be unable to even get out of bed and go to the dining hall for a meal.

Although he knew Tony’s injuries were more serious than he let on, Roy didn’t press the matter. He slowly said, ”If you need my help with the domain’s affairs, just let me know.”

”If I need your help, I certainly won’t hesitate to ask,” Tony said, looking at Roy with a gratified expression.

”You should get some more rest. I’ll leave you to it,” Roy continued.

”Alright,” Tony replied.

After Roy left the bedroom, Erin, who had been sitting silently by the bed, looked at Tony with a worried expression. Frowning, she said, ”I’ve already sent a letter to my father by Raven, but the Giant Monster Domain isn’t in Yorkshire. Even if Father sends someone immediately, it will take them a week to get here.”

”Besides, there’s no guarantee my father will send anyone.”

Tony patted Erin’s right hand and said with a smile, ”It’s fine. Even if word of my injury gets out, Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog won’t dare to cause trouble for us right away.”

”Besides, Sir Adam is also a Middle Tier Knight. There won’t be any problems.”

Hearing Tony’s words, Erin’s frown deepened. She said slowly, ”I’ve heard that Sir Adam has recently been in contact with...”

Before she could finish, Tony cut her off.

”That’s all just rumor and gossip. Sir Adam has served the Wesley Clan for over twenty years. I trust his loyalty.”

’I just hope Sir Adam is truly loyal,’ Erin thought to herself.

Returning to his bedroom, Roy went to the window and looked down at the castle’s square. His gaze fell upon Sir Adam, who was conducting daily training for the castle soldiers.

He hadn’t heard Tony and Erin’s conversation.

But he too had recently heard those ”rumors and gossip” about Sir Adam.

Not only that, but he knew much more than Tony and Erin did.

Unlike Tony and Erin, who rarely left the Ice Wolf Domain, he went to Redwood City, the capital of Yorkshire, almost every week.

Although he didn’t go specifically to gather intelligence, he still made a point of asking about Baron Red Eagle and Baron Giant Dog while operating under an alias in Redwood City.

The Ice Wolf Domain, the Red Eagle Domain, and the Giant Dog Domain were all located in the northernmost part of Yorkshire, collectively known as the Northern Three Domains of Yorkshire.

The Ice Wolf Domain was situated in the middle of the three.

The Red Eagle Domain and the Giant Dog Domain flanked it on either side.

Though they were neighbors, ever since the Wesley Clan became the lords of the Ice Wolf Domain, successive Baron Red Eagles and Baron Giant Dogs had constantly schemed against it.

Or rather, they had never given up the idea of annexing the Ice Wolf Domain.

Expanding one’s family territory was a lesson taught to every noble from childhood, and it was what every Lord desired most.

After observing Sir Adam from the window for a moment, Roy had a thought, and his entire being vanished in an instant, transporting him from his bedroom to the gray, mist-shrouded Chaos Square.

The corpse of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape lay in the center of the square, the wound on its neck no longer bleeding.

After killing it, Roy had immediately brought the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s corpse into the Chaos Square.

Normally, the blood of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape should have stained the surrounding jade-like floor tiles red.

However, the area where the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape lay was spotless. There wasn’t a trace of blood on the tiles, as if someone had deliberately cleaned it all away.

Roy paid no mind to this strange phenomenon.

Not long after transmigrating to this world, he had discovered that the Chaos Square possessed an ”Eternal Clean Technique.”

The Eternal Clean Technique was the name he had given to the Chaos Square’s automatic cleaning ability; he wasn’t entirely sure if the Chaos Square truly possessed such a technique.

No matter how dirty he made the Chaos Square, whenever he left and returned, any trace of filth or trash would vanish completely.

This was true even if he left for only a second before coming back.
