Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Legendary Knight, The Bizarre Crystal Ball

Rock Lion Castle.

The study.

”Have you found that Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape yet?”

Count Rock Lion, a man in his early forties with meticulously groomed short brown hair and a beard, clad in a magnificent Noble Robe, looked at Knight Robinson standing before him and asked gravely.

Knight Robinson was the captain of Count Rock Lion’s Personal Guard and his most trusted subordinate. He was a Peak Knight who practiced the Mad Bull Breathing Technique.

The Mad Bull Breathing Technique was an Ordinary Level Universal Breathing Technique.

Although it couldn’t be cultivated to the level of a Great Knight, many Civilian Knights practiced the Mad Bull Breathing Technique because it had no bloodline requirements and its Secret Medicine was the common Red Bull Horn.

”We haven’t found it yet.”

”However, based on its escape trail, it seems to have headed for the Northern Three Domains. I have already dispatched men to the Northern Three Domains to search for it.”

Knight Robinson replied respectfully and without a moment’s hesitation.

Count Rock Lion was not only the man to whom he had sworn loyalty, but also a genuine Great Knight.

To be precise, a Black Iron Great Knight.

Like Official Knights, Great Knights were also divided into four Levels.

Black Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Gold!

Above the Golden Great Knights was the apex of the Knight’s path: the Legendary Knight.

An Ordinary Level Breathing Technique could only be cultivated to the level of a Peak Knight at most.

An Excellent Level Breathing Technique could be cultivated to the level of a Bronze Great Knight.

As for the higher Silver and Golden Great Knights, one needed to cultivate a Perfect Level Breathing Technique to have a chance of reaching those ranks.

And as for becoming a Legendary Knight, one had to build upon a Perfect Level Breathing Method to create a Legendary Breathing Technique perfectly suited to oneself. Only then could one break through the limits of a Great Knight, push open the gates to the Legendary realm, and be promoted to Legendary Knight, the apex of all Knights.

The method to become a Legendary Knight was no secret.

Even a Civilian Knight without a family inheritance could learn of the path to promotion.

But those who could actually become Legendary Knights were few and far between.

Twelve!

Since the beginning of recorded history, this continent had only ever produced twelve Legendary Knights!

”We must find that beast as quickly as possible!”

”Send more men to the Northern Three Domains. If it truly has gone there, we must capture it before it leaves Yorkshire!”

Count Rock Lion looked at Knight Robinson with a stern expression.

”Yes, my lord!”

Knight Robinson replied swiftly.

After speaking, he left the study under Count Rock Lion’s gaze.

After Knight Robinson left, Count Rock Lion walked to the window and gazed up at the azure sky.

’A Wizard’s legacy!’

’The clue on that Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape to a Wizard’s legacy can only be mine!’

Count Rock Lion stared at the sky with a resolute expression, thinking to himself.

To others, that Four-armed Demon Ape was just a rare mutated species.

But only he knew that things weren’t so simple.

That Four-armed Demon Ape was not just a mutated species; it also carried a clue to a Wizard’s legacy.

He wasn’t entirely sure what kind of legacy or clue it was.

However, that didn’t diminish his desire to obtain the clue to the Wizard’s legacy from the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape.

...

After glancing at the corpse of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, Roy went to a pile of junk in a corner of the square. He opened a box and took out an exquisite and sharp set of Hunting Knives, priced at a steep 5 Gold Coins.

Lamoge’s Hunter Knife Set!

Lamoge was a Master Blacksmith in the Laine Kingdom, and this Hunter Knife Set was his work.

That was precisely why this set of Hunting Knives cost as much as 5 Gold Coins.

A skinning knife, a sticking knife, a boning knife, a cleaver, a gut hook...

He had specifically purchased this Hunter Knife Set in Redwood City because he sometimes needed to process his kills here in Chaos Square.

Just as he was about to use the set to butcher the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s corpse, he suddenly remembered something and returned to the pile of junk.

First, he opened a larger box and took out a gray outer robe.

Then, he quickly removed the white Noble Robe he was wearing and changed into the gray one.

Only after doing all this did he return to the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s corpse with the Hunter Knife Set.

Roy had no intention of handing over the entire corpse of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape to Count Rock Lion in exchange for the bounty.

Just giving the Four-armed Demon Ape’s hide to Count Rock Lion would be enough to claim the reward.

As for the rest, like the Four-armed Demon Ape’s bones, he had no intention of giving them to Count Rock Lion.

At this moment, Roy had no idea what Count Rock Lion truly wanted; he still thought it was just an ordinary hunting bounty.

The bones of a Four-armed Demon Ape were not only the Secret Medicine for the Demon Ape Breathing Technique, but could also be used for Forging a Bone Sword and Bone Armor.

Roy didn’t practice the Demon Ape Breathing Technique.

Even if he did, he wouldn’t use the bones of a Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape as a Secret Medicine.

Cultivating a Breathing Technique in Chaos Square didn’t require any Secret Medicine.

To maximize his profit, he planned to have the Four-armed Demon Ape’s bones forged into a Bone Sword and Bone Armor.

He didn’t know Forging himself, but he could commission another Master Blacksmith to do it for him.

After returning to the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s corpse, Roy didn’t hesitate. He immediately took out the skinning knife and began the first step: skinning it.

He had butchered other kills in Chaos Square before.

However, this was the first time he had butchered prey roughly the size of an elephant.

Compared to the enormous corpse of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape, the skinning knife in his hand seemed rather minuscule.

But this didn’t affect his movements in the slightest.

After more than ten minutes, he finally managed to skin the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape completely, leaving the hide intact.

’Not bad!’

Roy praised his own skinning skills.

Then, he began the next steps: gutting the carcass, deboning it, and carving away the meat.

Time passed, bit by bit.

By the time he had removed the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s arm bones, leg bones, ribs, and so on, more than two hours had passed.

He casually tossed the separated chunks of meat and viscera to the side.

As for the bones he would later need for Forging the Bone Sword and Bone Armor, he arranged them neatly to his right.

Glancing at his hands and clothes, stained red with blood, Roy turned his head to look at the gray fog that completely enveloped the square.

In the area he looked toward, the dense gray fog thinned slightly, revealing his bedroom.

After confirming no one else was in the bedroom, he didn’t change his clothes. With a single thought, he instantly left Chaos Square and returned to his room.

He only stayed in the bedroom for a second before reconnecting with Chaos Square and returning.

’Why is some of it still here?’

Roy frowned immediately upon seeing that the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s stomach was still in its original spot.

Based on his previous experiences, after he left Chaos Square, its automatic cleaning function would immediately activate, clearing away all the trash and restoring the square to its pristine state.

The chunks of the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s meat had all disappeared.

All the other scattered internal organs had vanished as well, except for the stomach, which had been strangely left behind.

The neatly arranged bones and hide hadn’t disappeared; they had just been cleaned of all the residual blood and filth.

Although he didn’t know why the Mutated Four-armed Demon Ape’s stomach was left behind, Roy didn’t dwell on it and immediately walked over to it.

Looking at the bulging stomach, he took a deep breath, picked up a Hunting Knife, and, fighting back his disgust, sliced it open.

As the stomach was cut open, undigested food and human remains spilled out from the gash, turning the freshly cleaned ground into a complete mess.

’This fucking stinks!’

Roy suppressed the urge to immediately leave Chaos Square and return to his bedroom. He set aside the Hunting Knife, picked up the stomach, and dumped all of its contents out, turning the jade-like floor into a complete mess.

Without looking at what had spilled out, he tossed the stomach aside and left Chaos Square without any hesitation.

After staying in his bedroom for five or six seconds to take a few breaths of fresh air, he returned once more to Chaos Square.

The stomach and the remains on the ground had all disappeared, and the air was no longer foul. All that was left was a fist-sized Crystal Ball, sitting alone on the ground.

Seeing this, Roy finally let out a sigh of relief.

He had been worried that something might have gone wrong with Chaos Square’s automatic cleaning function.

It seemed his worries had been for nothing.

Roy picked up the now-clean Crystal Ball and examined it in his hand.

’Was this the reason the stomach didn’t disappear?’

’This thing doesn’t look special at all!’

Roy examined the Crystal Ball in his hand, a puzzled expression on his face.

Just as he was wondering what was so strange about this unremarkable Crystal Ball, a block of text suddenly appeared in his mind.

...
