Chapter 2011: Improving Assault Camp

Ye Zhongming stood outside the warehouse watching the scenery, not worried at all about the fight inside.

In fact, it was just as he expected. After about ten-plus minutes, the Assault Camp members walked out one by one.

It seemed they were in a somewhat terrible state. Many were supporting each other; otherwise, they couldnʼt walk on their own. But there was also a portion who had only more sweat and occasional bruises on their faces and bodies, but were in good condition.

Ou Chong and Shi Yong walked together to Ye Zhongming and said simultaneously, grinning: ”Order Leader, mission completed!”

Ye Zhongming nodded.

One hundred people against nearly one thousand, a difference of eight to nine times in numbers, yet able to achieve victory. It seemed miraculous, but in fact, it wasnʼt strange at all.

First, the Assault Camp members had a slight sneak-attack advantage. They hadnʼt entered before, just stayed outside the warehouse. Upon hearing the order, they rushed in together, catching the people inside off guard.

However, for these people, only those near the warehouse entrance were unprepared; those further back had ample time to prepare for battle.

Second was the gap in equipment.

The Assault Camp entered wearing full sets of equipment. In the nearly ten days since Ye Zhongming returned, besides his own cultivation, he had been manufacturing equipment. This allowed him to familiarize and continue researching Taros Red Dwarf technology and also upgrade the Assault Campʼs equipment.
Due to material and proficiency issues, the number of equipment Ye Zhongming manufactured that could reach Red Condensation level wasnʼt too high, but there were still two or three pieces daily. Over nearly ten days, there were still more than 20 pieces. He set aside a portion as rewards for the upcoming Bronze Camp major exam and distributed the remaining seven or eight pieces to the Assault Campʼs backbone members and those who performed well in recent missions.

Donʼt forget, besides Red Condensation level, Ye Zhongming had even more Ke Steel Grade pieces. These were attempts to manufacture Red Condensation level that failed to meet requirements. Given his manufacturing speed, he had accumulated about 200 pieces in recent days. Half were reserved as major exam rewards, and the other half was also distributed to the Assault Camp.

As for the failed works, except for a very few unusable ones, the rest could reach the basic level. These replaced the original equipment on the Assault Camp members, which wasnʼt even as good as basic level.

That meant the current Assault Camp had very good full-body weapons and equipment. The worst was basic level equipment. Each person had at least one Ke Steel Grade piece. Backbone members even wore Red Condensation level!

Although they didnʼt use weapons, just the difference in other parts was enough to provide a huge advantage.

Finally, the biggest difference between the two sides was... strength.

If it were two months ago, these people, even with good equipment, would definitely not be a match for these reserve team members, who outnumbered them several times. After all, these people only had character problems, either arrogant or extreme, or overconfident, but they still had strength, previously higher than the Assault Camp warriors.

But now it was different. In these two months, the Assault Camp warriors first followed Ye Zhongming to learn abilities like Layer Eye, then familiarized themselves with one another, formed battle formations, even attacked a transport team, and got blood on their hands. Their strength and temperament greatly improved. Even achieving good results against the entire Bronze Camp made them psychologically stronger.

But the biggest progress happened during these days after Ye Zhongmingʼs return.

Every night, after normal daytime training, they would go to Ye Zhongmingʼs room to study. Initially, the Assault Camp warriors didnʼt know what they would learn until Ye Zhongming, based on their individual situations and characteristics, pulled out different techniques, skills, etc., and taught them.

When did Assault Camp warriors ever have such treatment? They absorbed everything Ye Zhongming brought them.

They never had such a great feeling before, feeling their bodies and what they cultivated were so fitting. In just a few days, their combat strength advanced rapidly.

In their hearts, they already believed Ye Zhongming was the best teacher.

What they didnʼt know was that when Ye Zhongming was at the Library Palace, he had discussed each Assault Camp memberʼs situation with true experts and knowledgeable Librarians. Those big shots, both in strength and insight, were higher than Ye Zhongming; they personally selected suitable techniques, suitable skills, and even had suggestions for suitable equipment and weapons.

Under such ʼvipʼ treatment, if these Assault Camp members didnʼt improve or improved only slightly, how could they answer to those giants of the Library Palace?

When Ye Zhongming first returned, he asked about the Assault Campʼs strength growth, and was told the average increase was about 100.

Increasing this much in less than a month was actually quite good.

But after receiving Ye Zhongmingʼs special training, in about ten days, a few with good talent actually increased their Furelai by over a thousand points. The rest with smaller increases also gained several hundred. The average exceeded five hundred.

This was the growth value in about ten days! If revealed, it would definitely scare many people. Except when breaking through certain bottlenecks, even geniuses usually couldnʼt maintain such growth speed.

Of course, Ye Zhongming knew the Assault Camp warriorsʼ situation was very similar to his own: they would all increase strength rapidly during this stage, then slow down after a period.

However, an average Furelai increase of five hundred had already surpassed these reserve team members. After training, everyone knew better how to utilise their strengths, activating their maximum potential and ability.

Combining the factors above, todayʼs victory was achieved.

”All return, todayʼs training is canceled. Shi Yong and Ou Chong, stay.” Ye Zhongming let the others return to rest. He took Shi Yong and Ou Chong back into the warehouse.

The sight that met them was a scene of stumbling reserve team members.

Neither side used weapons, and they knew restraint, not causing deaths or serious injuries. But to defeat the opponent, some heavy-handed moves were still necessary. Especially those few Ye Zhongming had named by name; they were all tough opponents. Defeating them without using real skill was certainly impossible. So fractures and bone cracks were not few. Even with their constitutions, they would take several days to recover after treatment.

”I know you are unhappy, think you werenʼt wearing equipment and were sneak attacked. But... when you carry out assassinations, do you consider this issue? Your numbers were so much greater than theirs. Did you consider that? So, a loss is a loss. From now on, obey well, train properly. Starting tomorrow, I will assign tasks and training content to you. Afterwards, assessments will be conducted periodically. Those with good results will be promoted to the Assault Camp as formal members, enjoying all the same treatment as former members. If, after three assessments, there are still people who havenʼt left the reserve team, then get out of the Bronze Camp.”

Ye Zhongming stood at the entrance speaking calmly, ”From today, both the Assault Camp and the Assault Camp reserve team will be divided into two parts: the Assassin Group and the Warrior Group. On the Assault Camp side, for now, Shi Yong will lead the Assassin Group, and Ou Chong will lead the Warrior Group. On the reserve team side here, Fu Mei will lead the Assassin Group, with Chu Sa as deputy. Wo Aigeʼer will lead the Warrior Group, with Zheng Qu as deputy.”
