Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1990: True Libary Palace

Ye Zhongming frowned but did not say anything.

”I know you donʼt believe it, and I appreciate your disbelief, because having confidence is a good thing after all,” the old Dean said with a smile.

At that moment, the person in charge of the Equipment District walked in, carrying two drinks, the same kind Ye Zhongming had bought earlier.

”Do they cost money?” Ye Zhongming asked.

That person grinned awkwardly, but the old Dean laughed heartily and said. This cup is free.

”I know you donʼt believe me when I say it will take one hundred years. Geniuses always trust themselves a bit more. But I must still say...” The old Dean picked up his drink and took a sip. ”This timeframe is without factoring in some unexpected elements. If all are factored in, one hundred and fifty years or even two hundred years are possible.”

”This is under the premise that you will definitely succeed. But no matter how confident you are, will you truly succeed? Not to mention anything else, with your current strength, how will you challenge the major races? Donʼt even mention those super races; just the ones youʼve offended, if they send out a few people casually, it would be enough to crush you.”

The old Deanʼs expression turned serious as he spoke.

”The fact that you are all still alive now is thanks to the rules that prevented them from taking action. And these very rules that protect your lives are the ones you want to break.”

The old Dean looked at Ye Zhongming. ”So, everything you do initially must be done in secret. Otherwise, once exposed, they will kill all of you under the pretext of not following the rules.”
”Donʼt think that Jie Suʼs status can protect you until you finish growing. Not to mention that his status can only scare those who are insignificant; even if he were the clan leader of the Su Clan, he couldnʼt withstand everything.”

At this point, the old Dean suddenly said, ”Let me tell you something. This Novice battlefield involves far more and is more complicated than you imagine. If it werenʼt for the Slave Race causing trouble, the Su Clan... might no longer exist.”

Ye Zhongming showed a surprised expression. The Su Clan, one of the three giants, would not exist?

However, the old man didnʼt seem to want to explain this further and continued, ”So, you need helpers.”

”The Library Palace?” Ye Zhongming said softly.

With things said to this extent, what couldnʼt Ye Zhongming understand? What he didnʼt understand was why the Library Palace wanted to help him.

Logically, the Library Palace shouldnʼt interfere in worldly affairs. Rules to this place strictly bound them, and their numbers were only three thousand, fewer than the Bronze Camp. How could they help Ye Zhongming?

Rely on this old Dean as a top-tier expert? Perhaps, it would have some effect. But when it came to their ultimate goal, individual bravery was no longer the decisive factor.

Ye Zhongming was sure the old Dean was a top-tier expert, but he didnʼt think he was stronger than the current leaders of the super races.

”Yes, the Library Palace.” The old Deanʼs reply was full of conviction.

Ye Zhongming fell silent because he didnʼt know how to proceed.

Agree, or refuse? Neither seemed very good.

The old Dean didnʼt mind this silence. He continued, ”I know you might feel in your heart that the Library Palace cannot offer you much significant help. But hear me out. If you still refuse afterward, then just pretend nothing happened today.”

Ye Zhongming nodded. Since the old man said so, he had to listen. Moreover, he was very curious about what the Library Palace had that made this old man so confident.

”The Library Palace has books.”

Ye Zhongming was taken aback, then couldnʼt control an awkward smile.

”The most books.”

”The Library Palace has teachers, the best teachers.”

”If willing, the Library Palace could be the best school. An all-subject, all-capable school.”

The awkwardness disappeared from Ye Zhongmingʼs face. Now he looked at the old Dean very seriously and sat up straighter.

Thinking carefully, what the old Dean said was indeed true. The Library Palace didnʼt just have countless books; it also had librarians who read every day! The knowledge they mastered was enough to make them excellent teachers.

Thinking further, not to mention other things, just being able to send people here to study meant that perhaps after a few years, they would become experts.

Seeing Ye Zhongming deep in thought, the old Dean knew the young man was taking his words seriously. He deliberately waited a moment before continuing, ”The Library Palace has three thousand librarians. One thousand of them are new entrants in the last twenty years. Their strength is relatively low, but they are certainly not weaker than White Robe. As for the other two thousand, any one of them could easily defeat your Gold Order Leader.”

Upon hearing this, the muscles on Ye Zhongmingʼs face twitched.

Cheng Liujin was undoubtedly an expert. In the Star-Eye Clan, probably only three or four people were steadily stronger than him. The old Dean meant that there were two thousand people here stronger than Cheng Liujin?!

”Forgive my bluntness, the two leaders of your Star-Eye Clan can barely be considered strong. But among these two thousand librarians, they would only rank within the last two hundred.”

Alright, now even the two Star-Eye leaders were brought into the comparison.

But Ye Zhongming still mentally assessed it. What would the Furelai of the two Star-Eye leaders be estimated at? Fifty thousand? Or higher? Then these librarians were indeed quite formidable.

”Let me tell you one more secret.” For some reason, Ye Zhongming always felt that when the old Dean said this, he carried a trace of resentment.

”The number of librarians who died naturally during those twenty years of gradual replacement was only one hundred and fifty.”

At first, Ye Zhongming didnʼt understand, but he soon realized, and his eyes involuntarily widened.

Could it be that the old Dean had secretly hidden eight hundred and fifty librarians in these twenty years?!

Ye Zhongming had just heard this old man say that among the two thousand librarians, the weakest were comparable to the two Star-Eye leaders. Then, these hidden eight hundred and fifty, werenʼt the weakest among them also equivalent to the two Star-Eye leaders?

What exactly was the Library Palace planning?! Were they no longer content to remain here?!

Also, Ye Zhongming now knew that he had suddenly heard such a secret. If he didnʼt cooperate, then... would this amiable, kind white-bearded old grandfather turn into a vicious demon?

Probably yes.

Because if Ye Zhongming died, there would still be the next yearʼs Novice champion, and the champion the year after. The Library Palace, having prepared for at least twenty years, probably wouldnʼt mind waiting a couple more years.

It seemed cooperation was inevitable, Ye Zhongming sighed inwardly.

”Finally, myself, and two other old fellows, dare not say how powerful we are, but among the cosmic races, we should be ranked among the top ten experts.”

”Kid, are conditions like these enough to cooperate with you?”

Ye Zhongming was also straightforward. Hearing the old Dean say this, he immediately nodded and said, enough, very enough, itʼs me climbing high.

However, after saying this, Ye Zhongming looked at the old man and asked another question.

”But the reason? What is your motivation for doing all this?”
