Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1974: Another level nine potion

Since Xia Lei had said so, the others couldnʼt say much, but they certainly had doubts in their hearts.

”Uncle Li, Young Master Yun, Xiao Peng.” Xia Leiʼs gaze fell on the three of them. ”You are the first war zone that has fought beyond the country and also achieved a decisive victory. There will basically be no decent resistance there anymore. Little Tigerʼs team will remain in your area. Utilize the mobility of the War Beast Corps and Little Tigerʼs cavalry, and utilize the characteristic of Xiao Pengʼs team being good at naval warfare, to complete the attack on Southeast Asia as soon as possible. Itʼs best to complete the occupation within one month.”

Upon hearing this, the others were excited, but only Li Daqian shook his head and said with some worry, ”Victory is certain, but isnʼt the timeline a bit tight? Although the main forces there were crushed, you also know that in Southeast Asia, the river networks are dense, there are many rainforests, and the terrain is complex. Our enemies are not only the resisting Evolved but also all kinds of weird, mutated lifeforms.”

As he spoke, Li Daqian looked at Young Master Yun and Xiao Peng. ”You donʼt know until you fight. Only when we fought there did we realize that there were so many mutated life forms we hadnʼt seen before. When we first entered that area, we suffered many losses.”

Young Master Yun and Xiao Peng indicated this was true. In Southeast Asia, there were simply too many strange things; you could encounter anything. What left a deep impression on them was, for example, a type of mutated insect hiding in the grass, only Level Two, with the insect kings and queens being merely Level Three.

But these small insects were simply impossible to guard against. Whatever color the grass was, they were that color. Their bodies were extremely soft; however, the grass moved in the wind, and they moved the same way.

Their numbers were also enormous, and they knew how to set traps. When an Evolved stepped into their territory, they wouldnʼt attack immediately, but would only launch an attack when a sufficient number had entered.

Their level wasnʼt high, and their bodies were very soft, like blades of grass, but their teeth were sharp. Basically, equipment below the Gold grade could be bitten through. The wounds werenʼt large or deep, and the injuries were even very light, but they would inject a toxin with a hallucinogenic effect into the Evolvedʼs body. Evolved at Level Four and below would be affected immediately, attacking the people around them as enemies. Those above Level Five had a little resistance, and only Level Seven Evolved could be completely immune.

These insects used this characteristic to specifically make Evolved kill each other, after which they would suck blood and eat flesh in the grass.

Although these insects were easily killed, when they died, these toxins would spray out as poisonous mist, taking effect again.
It could be said that this kind of mutated lifeform was extremely frustrating. You couldnʼt kill them all, yet they seemed to be everywhere.

It was only because Cloud Peakʼs soldiers had good equipment, high evolution levels, complete logistics, ample antidote supplies, and an emphasis on logistics—each team had a considerable number of support and medical jobs—that the losses caused by these insects were minimized.

And this was just one of the problems; there were many other unexpected troubles.

For such a region, occupying it within one month was unrealistic.

”The slowest cannot exceed one and a half months. A Level Nine lifeform will go to help you. In two months, we will have a major operation that requires mobilizing more than half of the teams to participate. So at the latest, within one and a half months, the battle in Southeast Asia must end.” After thinking, Xia Lei set the time at one and a half months. She looked at Li Daqian and the others and said, ”You donʼt need to occupy it so ʼthoroughlyʼ—just clear out the resisting Evolved. Afterwards, Xiao Pengʼs team will remain in Southeast Asia, responsible for subsequent matters. Cloud Peak will also dispatch non-main teams there for defense.”

Everyone noticed that Xia Lei mentioned the major operation two months later.

Xiao Peng opened his mouth wanting to object, but was interrupted by Xia Lei waving her hand.

”I know you donʼt want to stay there and want to come back to participate in the operation, but someone has to stay, right? The dense waterways and long coastline there are most suitable for your team.”

Looking at Xiao Pengʼs expression, Xia Lei smiled and said, ”Donʼt worry, this kind of major operation will probably happen every period of time. So donʼt worry about having no battles to fight; everyone will take turns.”

”Sister Lei, what operation?”

Little Tiger sneakily moved his chair, wanting to get closer to Xia Lei, which made everyone laugh again.

”Iʼll tell you shortly.” Xia Lei didnʼt give a clear answer. Then, looking around at everyone, she said, ”Based on each teamʼs war zone location and the progress of the battles, each teamʼs position is different, and the distance to the location of this major operation also varies. So after the strategic maps are distributed, they will be clearly marked. According to the distance, all teams designated to participate must complete their respective strategic tasks within one to one and a half months, and then arrive at the designated location at the two-month mark.”

”Itʼs not that the headquarters is pushing you, but the situation is.”

Xia Lei paused, letting everyone digest the information, then said, ”Thereʼs one more thing. After accumulating and purchasing over these months—and of course, also through robbing—we accumulated some Level Nine magic crystals. We were lucky; yesterday, we spun a bottle of Level Nine evolution potion.”

Everyoneʼs eyes lit up. Level Nine! In the past, this was the ultimate goal for almost everyone. It was only because of the appearance of the universeʼs races that they knew there were people beyond people and skies beyond skies, but this level was still what everyone strived for.

”Letʼs choose the candidate to take it.” Xia Lei leaned back and said, ”I declare first, I am giving up. There are too many things to do, and the evolution time is too long. I donʼt have the time.”

Everyone laughed. If one were to say who was most qualified, Xia Lei was definitely one of them. Her performance during every crisis Cloud Peak encountered had been excellent. She usually controlled Cloud Peak and never had any problems.

”Also, support-class jobs should also give up this time.” Xia Lei looked apologetically at Park Xiuying, Candy, and others. ”We need combat-class jobs to be replenished.”

Everyone was stunned, not quite understanding the meaning of these words. Replenish? Replenish what?

”The two of us certainly wonʼt compete for this. Giving it to us would be useless anyway.” Le Dayuan said while smiling. His and Liu Zhenghongʼs situation was, in a way, very similar to Xia Leiʼs. They contributed greatly to Cloud Peak. If they asked for it, no one would compete with them.

Actually, everyone else wanted it, but many people considered it and knew that no matter from which aspect, it wouldnʼt be their turn, so they all made a point to speak up and give up.

Finally, the people who were qualified and suitable for the main role were only Little Tiger and Xia Bai.

Xiao Hu glanced at Xia Bai and said, ”Give it to Sister Xia Bai.”

If it were before, Xia Bai would certainly have taken it for granted. But this time she said, ”Give it to you. Iʼll take the next one.”

Xiao Hu still wanted to say something, but Xia Lei said, ”Thatʼs it. Xia Bai, together with the Red Guard, is enough to deal with two Level Nines. So you evolve first. After succeeding, remember to get more Level Nine magic crystals.”

After speaking and ignoring Little Tiger, Xia Lei stood up.

”What I am about to say next is the reason I summoned everyone back. Itʼs a secret, absolutely no leaking this.”

Xia Lei looked at everyone and said slowly, ”Zhongming sent back a message.”
