Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1996: Assassination

The two men walked side by side outward with their people.

Ye Zhongming was undoubtedly satisfied.

Although Jie Su had not directly agreed, his words undoubtedly indicated approval for Ye Zhongming to obtain some of the Su Clanʼs arrays.

He just couldnʼt privately hand them over to Ye Zhongming like that.

There were rules everywhere, and the Su Clan was no exception. As a member of the Su Clan, regardless of how good his relationship with Ye Zhongming was or how much they shared in common, he had to abide by the rules.

Otherwise, the consequences would be severe.

If Jie Su directly told Ye Zhongming the secrets of the arrays, both of them would inevitably face the wrath of the Su Clan, and death was certain.

The method Jie Su mentioned was the best way to communicate. When the time came, Ye Zhongming could directly bring this matter to the Su Clanʼs core leadership. If successful, that would be best; Ye Zhongming would get his wish, and the Su Clan would certainly receive generous returns. If unsuccessful, it wouldnʼt affect the relationship between Ye Zhongming and Jie Su, and seeking other areas of cooperation with the Su Clan might become very easy.

”Regarding Yiseweiʼs matter, Iʼve heard some news. Although I canʼt judge its truthfulness for now, I donʼt think itʼs groundless. Go back and talk to White Robe, ask for his opinion. After that, we can discuss countermeasures.”

As Jie Su walked out, he told Ye Zhongming about a rumor he had heard in the past few days.
”The Huoʼer Star has the intention to form a marriage alliance with the Sheke Star. The target is Yisewei.”

Hearing Jie Su say this, Ye Zhongming frowned, and a sense of anger arose in his heart.

Whether it was him or Jie Su, in their hearts, they already considered Yisewei and White Robe a pair. Not to mention how Yisewei won everyoneʼs respect by willingly taking risks for White Robe, actively lowering her strength to venture into the Novice battlefield. Just her personality and her care for friends, these two points easily garnered goodwill from others. Take Ye Zhongming, for example; just by fighting side by side on the Novice battlefield, he already considered Yisewei a friend and a trusted comrade.

Now, someone wanted to break up what he, Jie Su, and others believed would inevitably become a married couple. Anger was an instinct.

”Yisewei is being groomed as the successor, right? A marriage alliance with Huoʼer Star? How would that work?” Ye Zhongming thought for a moment and felt this matter wasnʼt very feasible.

Marriage alliances were about matching status and mutual benefit. Yisewei was the future clan leader of the Sheke Star people. If no other siblings were born, she was certain to inherit the position. If such a person was really allowed to marry into another race, it could only be by having the other party come over as a live-in son-in-law.

And the object wanting to marry her would certainly have to be a prince of the Huoʼer Star people, also one of the successors. Which prince would willingly give up his throne in advance to live under someone elseʼs roof in another race?

Even as a political mission, it would certainly face fierce opposition, right?

”You see, people are willing. I heard itʼs the one with the least chance of inheritance. Probably thinks he canʼt compete with the others and wants to find another path. Probably thinks being half a clan leader in the Sheke Star is better than staying with the Huoʼer Star people.” Jie Su shrugged.

Ye Zhongming laughed coldly.

If White Robe went over and married Yisewei, given the latterʼs infatuation with White Robe, as long as White Robe himself was capable enough, not to mention having half the say, it was highly possible he could even exercise the clan leaderʼs authority.

But a prince with no emotional connection coming through a political marriage wants to control half of the Sheke Star people? Really a pipe dream.

Yisewei might completely listen to White Robe, but towards others, she was a qualified princess—calm, cold, and with a not-so-good temper.

”Originally, I planned to use the Novice reward to go to the Sheke Star and meet Yiseweiʼs father. Even if I couldnʼt persuade him to accept White Robe, building rapport, letting him see our potential, and buying more time for White Robe would be good. But now I have to go to your Su Clan. What should we do about this matter?”

The two men slowed their walking speed because this matter concerned their brotherʼs happiness and had to be taken seriously.

”Talk properly with White Robe. As long as that guy clearly states he must have Yisewei and no one else, then we... might have to do something.”

Jie Su narrowed his eyes.

Just like how Yisewei treated White Robe, Jie Suʼs treatment of friends was naturally beyond reproach. But facing enemies, he would be like other strong experts—cold and heartless.

”Yes, we absolutely cannot let this happen. You also verify the truth of the matter. If itʼs true and time is urgent, weʼll kill that marriage alliance target.”

Jie Su nodded, solemnly treating this matter.

If others heard this, they would certainly laugh at their overestimation. A small nobody from the Star-Eye Clan and a semi-invisible person with a low inheritance rank in the Su Clan want to kill a prince of the most powerful race? Boasting should be somewhat credible.

But the two men spoke calmly as if it was something definite. As long as they wanted, they could kill a prince of a super race.

As they approached the door, the waiter who had asked about their payment method earlier came over, stood to the side, smiled as he saw them off, and proactively opened the door for them.

The elegant and gentle lighting was replaced by the somewhat strong sunlight outside, causing an inevitable momentary visual discomfort.

A sweep of blade light rolled in from outside amidst this discomfort!

The Su Clan guard walking at the front couldnʼt dodge in time and was directly cut into pieces. Blood and flesh chunks, carried by inertial force, swept into the restaurant.

Simultaneously, the waiter, who just moments ago had a smile and acted extremely professional, suddenly burst open the uniform he was wearing. Along with it, a layer of metal armor underneath burst. Countless metal fragments hidden among the clothing pieces shot towards Jie Su, Ye Zhongming, and their group.

On the other side, the ground bulged, and a piercing cold air shot straight towards their feet. Wherever it passed, everything turned icy. A Gold Masked Warrior, caught off guard, had his feet directly frozen to the ground. Facing the incoming blade light, he could no longer dodge and could only rely on his own abilities and equipment to defend.

Unfortunately, he underestimated this well-prepared strike. The weapon he had just drawn was instantly broken, and his armor, along with his body, was cut into several pieces.

At this moment, another Gold Masked Warrior closest to the waiter let out a scream. The moment he discovered the attack, he didnʼt choose to dodge but directly turned his body sideways, using his flesh and blood to block those fragments.

Behind him was Ye Zhongming.

After a series of thudding sounds, his body was riddled with holes. After letting out an unwilling cry, he fell to the ground.

The group, which had merely been eating, was publicly assaulted in this city known as the Neutral City!
