Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1975: News from above

Bang!

It was not a sound, but everyone could feel it, as if the entire room had made such a sound.

It was the uncontrolled, instantaneous surge of bodily energy fluctuations from everyoneʼs sudden excitement, joy, surprise, and shock—a silent explosion in the space.

Everyone felt a bit dizzy from the shockwave, but what was more important was the news itself.

How long had Ye Zhongming been in the skies? Several months! Cloud Peak had already conquered half the country. Many people had sacrificed, and many had evolved. Influencer Sister and Yellow Ball had both reached level nine.

It couldnʼt be said that everything was different, but at the very least, it felt to everyone like a very long time had passed.

In the country, no, on Earth, every Cloud Peak member believed Ye Zhongming was number one, without equal, whether among evolved or mutated lifeforms.

But going to the skies was completely different.

From the initial news of the apocalypseʼs arrival to the later spokespeople system, everyone had come to realize that outside Earth, there existed very powerful life forms.

How powerful these lifeforms were exactly, no one was sure, but it was certain they were stronger than Ye Zhongming.
Many people did not say it out loud, but in their hearts, after learning that Ye Zhongming could not even bring his equipment to the heavens, they were worried, even having ominous premonitions.

Earthlings, who had not yet reached the interstellar era, were far too fragile in the face of external civilizations.

So much time had passed without any news from above, which was not in character for the boss. Even if nothing unexpected had happened, it might be because he lacked the power to send even a simple message down.

This meant the boss up there... was not doing well.

This negative feeling would grow stronger over time. If there was still no news after a while, no one could guarantee what might happen inside Cloud Peak Manor.

Now, the news had finally arrived. Without a doubt, it was a shot in the arm for everyone.

”Sister Lei, quickly tell us, what did the boss say?”

”Sister Lei, how is the boss doing in the skies?”

”Xiao Lei, did Zhongming say what these cosmic races is all about? What is the Slave Race?”

”Boss Lady, did the boss turn everything upside down up there?”

”Ah! Xia Lei, could you speak faster? Everyone is dying of anxiety!”

After a brief silence, everyone suddenly erupted, all talking at once, asking questions. It wasnʼt just young people like Little Tiger, Young Master Yun, and Candy who were like this; even people like Le Dayuan were very anxious.

Xia Lei smiled and asked everyone to quiet down.

”I will explain bit by bit. Thereʼs a lot of information, but without a doubt, itʼs all good news.”

With these words, everyone quieted down, looking at Xia Lei with full expectation.

”You might have known some of this before: Zhongming was a proxy for the Taros Red Dwarves. But for some reason, when he went to the skies, he didnʼt go to that race but joined a race called the Star-Eye Clan.”

Xia Lei began to recount the information she had received.

That day, the sudden pillar of light in the room almost made Xia Lei activate the alarm that could mobilize the entire Cloud Peak.

Fortunately, a soft voice came from within immediately after.

From that moment on, she learned about the Star-Eye Clan, learned where Ye Zhongming was, learned that her man was well, and had even become the spokesperson for the Star-Eye Clan.

”And I have now become the Star-Eye Clanʼs spokesperson on Earth.”

Everyone had gradually learned about Ye Zhongming being a proxy before. It wasnʼt strange that Ye Zhongming revealed this to everyone, given the equipment that was clearly not from Earth and the tasks that clearly didnʼt align with Cloud Peakʼs goals.

Everyone knew the spokesperson system would undoubtedly bring many benefits. After the boss left, if Cloud Peak had no spokesperson while other factions did, it could cause a lot of trouble.

Based on what they knew, many top evolved in various regions were actually spokespeople, receiving special treatment from those races in the heavens.

In Cloud Peakʼs campaign to unify Earth, these were undoubtedly unpredictable factors.

The Cloud Peak members werenʼt afraid, but being able to neutralize these factors was naturally a good thing.

”Communicating or transmitting items from outer space to Earth is extremely costly, so the information I received is very concise.”

”First, Zhongming is doing well. He completed the Novice challenge and obtained first place—first in the entire universe!”

”Second, he has now gone to receive a reward for winning first place. Also, because the spokesperson system requires communication in the name of the race, he cannot speak with us directly.”

”Third, Zhongming transmitted down a batch of equipment. The level... how to put it... Some were made by himself, some belong to the cosmic races, some are compatible with Earthʼs equipment system, and some are of completely different styles. But at the very least, they are all purple grade.”

”How many are there?”

Little Tiger was practically drooling. Purple equipment! Even core members like them didnʼt have many pieces.

Xia Lei said with a smile, ”Everyone in this room will definitely be able to have a full set of purple equipment.”

Whoa~~~

Although these core members were well-informed, they were still stunned by this number.

A complete set of purple equipment for everyone? How many pieces would that be?!

This wasnʼt blue, green, or even gold equipment; this was purple equipment.

Amid their shock, everyone once again felt deep admiration for Ye Zhongmingʼs capabilities.

Look at him, then look at ourselves. How can the gap between people be so big?

We thought we were living comfortably here, leading a group of strong soldiers and fierce generals in an unprecedented great unification effort, occupying vast territories in a few months, and already felt quite accomplished. But compared to him? In a few months, he acquired a quantity of purple equipment—no, equipment that is at least purple grade—that would make one despair just hearing the number.

Selling this amount of equipment could probably buy the entire country!

The gap is just too big.

”Fourth, youʼve all asked me before why we havenʼt moved against the Glory Army and the Resistance Zone. Now Iʼll tell you the reason: because in the heavens, Mu Hanyi and Ji Ruiguang stood by Zhongmingʼs side in a place called the Novice Battlefield, risking their lives to help Zhongming secure first place. You could say they saved Zhongmingʼs life.”

Xia Lei looked at the people below. ”So, in the heavens, we, the Resistance Zone, and the Glory Army are temporarily in an alliance. As long as this alliance holds, we cannot move against them. By now, Ji Ruiguang and Mu Hanyi should have already issued orders to the Resistance Zone and the Glory Army not to conflict with us.”

So thatʼs how it was. Everyone sighed with emotion; indeed, there are no permanent enemies.

However, the following sentence immediately led everyone to dismiss that thought. Cloud Peak, or rather humanity, still had permanent enemies.

”Fifth, Ji Ruiguang told Zhongming a piece of information: the true headquarters of the Soul Merchant on Earth and the locations of several of its important strongholds.”

Xia Leiʼs gaze gradually turned cold. ”So, the next step is to completely wipe these disgusting, repeatedly resurgent guys off the face of the Earth!”
