Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1343.5- Xia Baiʼs unusual evolution (2)

Ye Zhongming was stunned when he looked at Xia Bai, who was eating quickly.

He would never forget what he saw when he went upstairs.

Yesterday, Ye Zhongming sensed an energy fluctuation that caused the entire space to shake. He charged to the second floor because Xia Bai was evolving there.

Speaking of which, Ye Zhongming had never heard of a seven-star evolve taking a month to evolve to an eight-star.

Ye Zhongmingn thought her evolution had failed.

But that had a higher chance of happening when one evolved to one-star. There were a few out of tens of thousands. After the modification, that percentage went to zero.

Eight-star evolution took different lengths of time for different people. But Ye Zhongming had never heard of anyone who took so long.

Liu Zhenghong would come over every few days, which became a daily visit. But she only shook her head and said nothing. Ye Zhongming was anxious, and she left by saying that she was still alive.

Ye Zhongming couldn’t do anything. He could only continue with his plan while waiting anxiously.

Fortunately, she woke up on the 47th day.
Ye Zhongming charged to the second floor of his villa, which was in ruins.

Thick darkness energy had ripped the area above it into shreds. Xia Bai stood at the center of the mess, and behind her was a giant black hole. Cries of monsters spread from inside.

On her back was a pair of black wings.

It was gigantic.

Ye Zhongming estimated that they would be over six meters when expanded.

The wings shone black, and there was a thick bone at the tip that gave off a metallic feeling. Its defense would be outstanding, and the wings were powerful.

The wings had a semi-circular shape, and there weren’t any hard bones on this side. They were made of sharp black feathers. At the same time, they shone, but it was the cold, sharp light this time!

Xia Bai’s own body changed. The extent to which Ye Zhongming couldn’t recognise her.

She was much taller. She was of similar height to Ye Zhongming, who was an above-average female.

The equipment on her was gone. They didn’t know if they exploded. The purple mask on her face was gone, and she was naked.

Ye Zhongming didn’t have time to care about the few purple pieces of equipment Cloud Peak had. He just looked at her for a long time.

Although she didnʼt wear anything, there were black patterns and weird runes.

Ye Zhongming didn’t recognise them. He believed others didn’t, too.

Those runes seemed alive. They gave off a dangerous power as Xia Bai breathed steadily.

The black hair floated behind her. Along with her beautiful face that had patterns, Xia Bai was also terrifying.

Also, the white and black mix on her skin made her look ancient and mysterious.

Her eyes were black, like when Ye Zhongming activated his bloodline. But there were also bits of white that flashed across.

When Xia Bai saw Ye Zhongming, she didn’t react and just floated there quietly.

A while later, she reached out, and those shrapnels gathered towards her hand. A few seconds later, a black scythe appeared.

It was huge. It might be over three-meters long, giving off a cold aura. When Xia Bai grabbed it, it felt as if they had merged into one.

Those shrapnels continued to combine into a pair of boots, which were a similar ‘series’ to the scythe.

Her wings slowly closed to wrap her body before disappearing into a battle dress.

Black hair, black dress, black boots, black blade… She was covered in black.

The giant black hole shrunk, and that power disappeared after entering her body. The entire second floor turned back to normal.

At this point, Ye Zhongming saw that the power was very orderly. The area above the second floor was gone, and only the area below it was preserved.

Xia Bai landed. There was no mask, and her face was revealed. Only people close to her could see that her face looked slightly similar to before.

Her black eyes turned back to normal, but her pupils were bigger than others and slightly darker.

Her gaze finally started to ripple when she saw Ye Zhongming.

Even the energy remnants of the evolution made Ye Zhongming feel in danger.

Just by intuition, he was unsure if Xia Bai or he was stronger.

She held the black scythe and walked slowly over.

His body tensed up. This was an instinct, a battle instinct.

But he didn’t move. Xia Bai’s coldness and that pure black energy made him very uncomfortable. But before he understood it, he decided not to do anything.

Very quickly, she was before him.

They were of similar height such that they were looking into each other’s eyes.

Xia Bai stuck the scythe into the ground and then released it.

She wrapped her hands around him and hugged him.

Before he could taste anything, she released him. She then knelt before him and lowered her head. Her hair hung onto the ground.

………………………………………………………………

After Xia Bai was done eating, Ye Zhongming talked to her. Xia Bai didn’t know why her body changed. Just before she evolved, she found Liu Zhenghong’s assistant to let him do stabilising tests on her.

“Sorry.” Xia Bai knew that her actions were dangerous, but she didn’t think that such a thing would happen. Not only would it waste Cloud Peak’s eight-star potion, but they would also lose a strong fighter.

This was not what she wanted.

Ye Zhongming opened his mouth but said nothing. He only told her seriously not to make decisions on her own in the future.

He stood up and went to the gene lab. He found Liu Zhenghong, who had avoided him after Xia Bai had woken up.

Sister Hong was scolding… Or rather, beating that assistant.

“Little Ye, it is my fault.” Sister Hong was honest.

Ye Zhongming didn’t say anything and looked at the assistant.

“It is not my fault. Captain Xia Bai asked, and I have to help.” That assistant was terrified and explained, “I saw the little tricks you gave to people who were going to evolve. Since your method worked, our relatively mature gene techniques should also be okay. Even if they are bad, they wouldn’t be able to handle the evolution power and would be cleared. But if they were useful, they would be very useful. So I agreed to Captain Xia Bai and felt like it would work. After noticing that she didn’t wake up, I was nervous. The longer she took, the more I didn’t dare to tell Sister Hong and you… Sorry, I didn’t mean it.”

Ye Zhongming turned to Liu Zhenghong.

“He… Wanted to prove himself.”

The lab quietened down. That person knelt and shivered. He waited for the judgement of fate.
