Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 1322: Start of the city battle

The instruments in their hands had complicated diagrams, and some were moving.

Little Yu looked nervously, and his breathing was controlled.

He was a member of a faction in Ying City. Cloud Peak hired him to work at their preparation lab a while ago.

After entering, Little Yu found out that it was because he had experience in mechanical engineering and automation.

As for how Cloud Peak found out, it was because he had registered in Cloud Peak.

To the various factions of Ying City, entering Cloud Peak was their final goal.

Especially when Cloud Peak registered these people’s jobs that they had done before the apocalypse, everyone was known by Cloud Peak.

But not many people could be hired. After all, loyalty was the most important thing.

When they started registering, the Ying City factions were very excited and felt they had a huge chance. However, as time went on, only some people got accepted. These were people with special jobs and experience in weapon creation or gene studies who had fought alongside Cloud Peak.

Thus, everyone was discouraged and didn’t place hopes on the jobs in their last life. They focused on evolution. Cloud Peak expanded several times, so the number of people hired this way was higher than through other avenues.
But who knew that Cloud Peak would suddenly find him and ask him to join. It was also to join the newly built preparation lab.

Everyone knew that lab workers were treated the best in Cloud Peak.

Little Yu still remembered the scenes when he had left his battle squad.

Cloud Peak had a rule. If they recruited you, the battle squad you were in would receive a lot of compensation. Along with the fact that they now had someone they knew in Cloud Peak, the battle squad leader agreed and was even happy to see it happen.

This was his first test. He had to pump himself up multiple times when he received the mission.

“Underground is safe; 25 meters ahead are seven mutated lifeforms. Based on the energy levels, they are between levels four and five.”

He controlled the instrument and analysed the data. He then told the person in charge of the battle squad beside him.

Don’t underestimate this small role. This was why they dared to attack a third-string city.

This instrument is called an evolution sensor. It was recently produced by Liu Zhenghong and Le Dayuan together. Machinery and biology created this thing.

Simply put, it combined life detectors and combat strength indexes. However, this device was more complex than these two.

This involved some things that even Little Yu, a researcher, did not understand. Although he participated in the research, Le Dayuan and Liu Zhenghong provided the core theories.

But this device wasn’t mature and couldn’t clearly indicate information people would understand instantly. You needed some analysis by professionals who could easily calculate the data.

This had something to do with the development time and progress. With Cloud Peak’s current ability and timing of the battle, they could only reach such a stage. When they had time in the future, they could slowly improve it.

Since it wasn’t perfect, there would be flaws. Like some evolved with special abilities couldn’t be picked up. For example, the evolution level estimation wouldn’t be too accurate, and it would be in a rough range. For example, their strength evaluation would just be a gauge, and you couldn’t tell their real battle strength.

The evolution detector had many flaws, but as a support tool, it was very helpful.

The skies above still had the Exquisite Floating Ball, so Cloud Peak understood the situation well. Each person in charge had a tablet that showed the situation around them. But they needed to rely on this device to scout what was within buildings and in the darkness.

Only then did Ye Zhongming dare to fight.

It was also easy to understand why they chose to fight in the alleys.

Ye Zhongming, Cloud Peak, Posthumous People, and the other battle squads only had over a hundred thousand people. Even with the crystal cannons, could they battle two million mutated lifeforms at once?

They would be reckless if they tried.

Mutated lifeforms weren’t only zombies but other things. They roamed in unimaginable ways. On the ground, underground, in the skies, in the water…

Moreover, these mutated lifeforms were in many different zones of this city.

Remember that many mutated lifeforms existed in the suburbs and wilderness.

If they rushed in hurriedly or drew the lifeforms out, they would be in for a relentless fight. Not only would they need to face the enemies from Xingzhou City, but they would also be surrounded from all sides.

So when Ye Zhongming placed his eyes on the city, he planned to fight in the alleys.

The appearance of this device gave him confidence.

After getting Little Yu’s reminder, the battle squad captain waved, “Strong Attack Group 2, attack!”

A 20-person group charged while keeping close to the shadows. Very quickly, they entered the building that was 25 meters away. A few dozen seconds later, there were some fighting sounds and then large amounts of smoke. The walls inside had collapsed.

A while later, people from the group ran out. One of them was being carried back to the squad. Someone took over and checked his injuries, “Can be saved.” he then poured a basic healing potion into his mouth and placed him on the ground.

Someone dealt with injured members, mutated lifeform crystals, and corpses; they didn’t need to care.

After clearing the obstacles ahead, this team continued. A minute later, a person with a white cloth around his arm used the stretcher to carry the injured warrior away. A few others entered that building to obtain the crystal and materials.

These scenes appeared in many places. Cloud Peak entered Xingzhou City silently and started this historic battle.

………………………………………………

“Boss zone one is smooth; they have reached the specified location. What is the next step?”

“Captain, the third zone has faced the level seven lifeform Mist Controlling Ghost. There are many casualties. Tong Hu has led some people over, but their progress has slowed.”

“Exquisite Floating Ball spread back some information. A group of five thousand zombies sensed the battle and are shifting from an outside region into the battle region. How should we deal with it?”

“Captain Guang Yao, the level eight golden hero, is on the roof of the nest, but it hasn’t moved. What should we do about it?”

“There is movement underground; an unknown lifeform group is getting close.”

Guang Yao was surrounded by many messengers in the temporary command post. They reported the situation to him and spread his message.

He listened calmly and then gave those orders calmly. His body didn’t leave the sand map before him momentarily.

He moved the flags representing troops to indicate the situation in the city.

The alley battle was not a traditional alley battle but was modified. This was something special to the apocalypse.

Guang Yao needed to ensure the plan was smooth, so he had to know the exact situation.

When he heard that the level eight golden hero had moved, he turned and looked at the quiet Ye Zhongming.

Ye Zhongming nodded and gave an order from his head. Red Hair rode the undead dragonfish and jumped into the sky, flying toward the city.

Cloud Peak’s first top combat strength moved.

This also meant that the battle would continue. Either they won or lost.

There was no way back.

“How long to contact for the underground lifeforms?”

Guang Yao asked one of the messengers.

“Based on its speed, three minutes.”

Guang Yao nodded and looked toward Ye Zhongming.

“Boss, I request to send the rat army.”

“Okay.”

With Ye Zhongming’s permission, Guang Yao’s face flushed red slightly. It wasn’t nervousness, but he was excited.

Cloud Peak’s first gene army was beginning its first battle.

They said that because the rat army was different from the other mutated lifeforms that Liu Zhenghong created. They had their own minds and individual natures, so they could reproduce and evolve.

Only a thousand of this rat army trained in the Secret Realm remained, but they were very strong. Their combat strength increased. As they could live underground, they had become an important source of strength for Cloud Peak.

With them and another huge group of mutated rats following, this was another reason why Ye Zhongming dared to fight this.

Before heading out, Ye Zhongming called the Rat King and told him to send subordinates. Rat King didn’t dare to disobey and sent over 200 thousand.

Right, there was such a special army beneath their feet.

Just numbers alone, Cloud Peak had not only 100 thousand warriors but 200 thousand rats.

But these rats weren’t strong. Fighting above ground was their weakness, so they wouldn’t be too useful. As they were timid, it might even backfire.

Underground was their main battlefield.

After ensuring that there weren’t any worries below, you would be able to better plan the ground troops.

Two hundred thousand mutated rats and Xingzhou City’s underground lifeforms began their battle.
