Algorithm system

Musk’s Algorithm Crisis 1Lin Yuan readily handed over the intellectual property rights of the AI Management Algorithm to Saint Ma.

Naturally, Saint Ma immediately transferred its official ownership to OpenAI, a company under his personal flag.

For a time, various tech influencers, both domestic and international, were completely thrilled.

”A milestone innovation in AI applications...”

”It is still the Eagle Country tech community that leads the technological trend...”

”As expected of Saint Ma...”

Public opinion once again demonstrated its ”fickleness,” like a lump of modeling clay.

Logic and rationality are not necessary; the public’s understanding of public sentiment is mainly about storytelling.

Saint Ma once again became the man standing at the pinnacle of technology, as if he were the savior of humanity, pointing the way for the practical application of AI.

Some even forcefully linked this incident to the return of manufacturing to Eagle Country. Their view was simple: who said the return of manufacturing must only involve the low-to-mid-end manufacturing that had flowed out? Eagle Country could once again elevate its advantage in high-end manufacturing, achieving an overwhelming victory in quality over quantity.

Lin Yuan had long been indifferent to the performance of public opinion, having witnessed it several times before. He increasingly believed that public opinion was like a tide, a ruthless tide that could both carry a boat and overturn it. He gradually abandoned the idea of befriending the tide in his heart, as he did not feel he had the ability or interest. He began to agree with some of Saint Ma’s views—that public opinion should be harnessed.

Take this AI Management Algorithm, for example.

Before Lin Yuan officially transferred the intellectual property rights of the algorithm to Saint Ma, Saint Ma did not dare to openly announce that this algorithm was developed by OpenAI.

So, even though rumors circulated countless times, Saint Ma simply did not respond directly. Several times, when facing direct questions from reporters, Saint Ma deliberately brushed them off.

In the public’s view, this algorithm originated from Tesla Takeout, which was an enterprise invested in by Tesla, and both Tesla and OpenAI are companies under Saint Ma. Compared to OpenAI, Tesla Takeout was a level lower, so this algorithm was clearly developed by OpenAI.

Facing Saint Ma’s vague statements whenever he discussed the algorithm, public opinion had speculated about the reasons behind it many times. But those ordinary people, after much guessing, came to an astonishing conclusion: Saint Ma was afraid that the impact this algorithm would bring to the world would be too great, so he had never admitted it.

Lin Yuan was utterly bewildered by such arguments.

Because anyone with a bit of political common sense would have already noticed one thing: OpenAI’s stock had shown an upward trend several times, only to be forced back down each time after Saint Ma avoided discussing the algorithm.

If there is a lot of false information in the Western world, then the only most real and undeniable truth is their stock market.

Because when a person verbally supports something, he may not truly support it in his heart. But when he pays money for it, he is most likely genuinely supportive.

Just like when Chrysanthemum Factory launched the Mate60, a proud device, although there were still many negative voices internationally, strangely, Apple’s stock quietly plummeted at a very coincidental time.

It didn’t fall early or late, but precisely a few days after the Mate60 was launched, just enough time for some institutions to disassemble and study its internal CPU process. Apple’s stock suddenly dropped by 7-8 points.

Fools always like to draw conclusions based on feeling, while smart people are always accustomed to looking at data.

Apple’s stock plummeting without reason actually indicated that the Mate60 had achieved a certain success at that time.

Similarly, when Saint Ma deliberately avoided discussing the relationship between OpenAI and the AI Management Algorithm during interviews, OpenAI’s stock would always fall. And each time, the timing was extremely consistent.

Why is this?

Because investment institutions deduced from common sense that this algorithm was created by OpenAI, but as long as Saint Ma didn’t admit it, there was still uncertainty.

Although investment institutions did not understand the inside story, they had complete risk control. When facing a ’leek-cutting’ maniac like Saint Ma, if he didn’t personally admit it, then there was probably some reason he couldn’t admit it. In that case, these institutions would not place their bets.

Therefore, from the trend of OpenAI’s stock price, it was already evident that there was more to the AI Management Algorithm than met the eye.

The bloodthirsty wolves in investment banks had already noticed that this stock price trend did not conform to Saint Ma’s usual style. If OpenAI, under Saint Ma, had complete control over this algorithm, Saint Ma would not have played it so passively.

Because when Saint Ma was speculating on dogecoin and bitcoin, his methods were extremely cold-blooded and efficient. He was nothing like the hesitant and indecisive person he appeared to be now.

As a result, investment bank managers were cautious about this wave of OpenAI’s market performance, so much so that when Saint Ma announced that OpenAI was indeed responsible for the development of this algorithm, the public opinion circles reacted more enthusiastically than the investment circles.

This is a very abnormal phenomenon. Because generally speaking, the investment circles complete their layout in advance, and then public opinion reacts later. In fact, public opinion is often deliberately guided by the investment circles.

But this time, while the public opinion circles were already singing Saint Ma’s praises, the investment circles were still cautiously testing OpenAI’s stock.

Until Saint Ma open-sourced the AI Management Algorithm.

Once open-sourced, everyone could see the code. This was finally the dust settling—proving that OpenAI indeed possessed the AI Management Algorithm.

It wasn’t until the moment of open-sourcing that OpenAI’s stock price finally began to surge.

This world seems to be information-rich, but in reality, there are still different worlds.

When the investment circles were frantically following this trend of OpenAI, the reaction of the public opinion circles was quite amusing—a group of people were there praising Saint Ma for open-sourcing again.

This is the disconnect between two worlds.

The investment circles, through the open-sourcing, confirmed OpenAI’s control over the AI Management Algorithm, so they wanted to get a piece of the pie by following up and buying OpenAI’s stock.

But in the eyes of the fools in the public opinion circles, this became Saint Ma’s open-source grand event.

The people in the public sphere, whether they were onlookers or influencers, simply did not realize the turmoil behind this algorithm incident.

And even the investment institutions that got a piece of the pie in the investment circles were bewildered by Saint Ma’s abnormal behavior this time. Because Saint Ma’s strategy this time was clearly rushed; his open-source action even had a hint of self-sacrifice to prove himself.

The general view in the investment circles was that Saint Ma was worried that OpenAI’s myth would be shattered. Because tech unicorn companies fear nothing more than the shattering of their myths. OpenAI had previously reached a market value of hundreds of billions of dollars, relying on ChatGPT to tell stories, but it had never had a very strong product that could stably land and generate profit.

This AI Management Algorithm was an opportunity for OpenAI, but also a challenge.

If this algorithm was ultimately proven not to be developed by OpenAI, then OpenAI would be finished. Because Tesla and OpenAI are companies under Saint Ma, and if Tesla Takeout wasn’t using an algorithm developed by OpenAI, then where did this algorithm come from?

If it was developed by Tesla, then at most OpenAI would be finished, and everyone could still praise Tesla. But everyone knew that companies under Saint Ma had a division of labor, and general algorithm development had always focused on OpenAI. Therefore, it would inevitably raise suspicions.

And if it was finally proven that this algorithm was not developed by Tesla either, then both Tesla and OpenAI would be in danger.

In a word, things built upon a myth will also shatter when the myth shatters.
