Algorithm system

Lin Yuan’s Whisper“Senior Brother, do you miss me?”

After leaving the tea room and bidding farewell to Director Wang, Zhang Yan immediately clung to Lin Yuan.

“I miss you.”

“Do you miss me every moment?”

Lin Yuan replied mechanically, “Yes, 24 hours, is that enough?”

“You’re just humoring me… Xia Ye and Song Xiaoxiao seem to have become popular recently, right?”

Lin Yuan sighed, “I’m having a headache over that. People nowadays just like to randomly film things and put them online. Let’s not talk about this.”

“Alright. Then you’ll have dinner with me alone tonight. Xia Ye has already monopolized you for an entire Spring Festival, don’t tell me she won’t agree.”

Lin Yuan thought for a moment and then agreed.

“Are we… going to have other plans after dinner? I’m a bit exhausted lately.”

Zhang Yan looked at Lin Yuan with disdain, “I just want you to walk with me.”

“Haha… that’s good then.”

“What are your plans after this Good Group matter is over?”

“I don’t know. Once this Good Group matter is settled, I’ll have done a good deed, at least the takeout market can be healthier in the future. If possible, I want to instigate your master to have the public regulate the algorithms of takeout platforms.

The takeout industry is not suitable for long-term work. We cannot let the algorithms of takeout platforms privately encourage people to engage in this industry long-term; this industry should be for short-term household income subsidies.”

Zhang Yan asked in confusion, “But in that case, what about those who rely on the takeout industry for a living? Won’t they lose stable jobs?”

“Long-term stable employees in the takeout industry are actually less than 10%. To encourage delivery riderss to deliver food like they’re working a regular job, platforms have tied the per-order price to the number of orders. The more orders per month, the higher the per-order price.

But isn’t that just turning takeout into a long-term job?

However, takeout should not, in fact, be a long-term job.

Because this line of work doesn’t accumulate any industry experience, and you even have to pay for your own social security. In short, it’s not a long-term solution.

But the unfortunate truth is that most jobs in this world don’t accumulate much industry experience.

So, after I now negate the takeout industry, I can’t think of any effective alternative solutions.

After all, delivering packages and working as a waiter are also jobs with no growth.”

Lin Yuan muttered to himself, “Forget it, let’s just think about what to eat for dinner. This problem is beyond my capabilities.”

“I often hear my grandparents say that sometimes the longer they live, the less they understand. Before, they thought about how to make sure every household had meat to eat, but now they find that after having meat, there are even more problems.”

“Haha~~” Lin Yuan laughed heartily, “Then let’s just have aliens land on Earth, that would solve everything.”

“What would you do if aliens really came?”

“Become a traitor to Earth, of course.”

“You wouldn’t lead humanity in resistance?”

“I don’t think humanity has hope.”

“Senior Brother, you’re talking nonsense again.”

“With a little madwoman like you by my side, I’m used to talking nonsense. I just suddenly feel that I’ve lost my goal in life.”

Lin Yuan was speaking the truth. Although he possessed a system, the system was already covered in dust, and he truly didn’t know what he could do with it. Researching superconducting tokamaks? Or achieving controllable nuclear fusion?

“I just feel that, up until now, all of humanity’s efforts have been about making the cake bigger. But the cake now, compared to the Middle Ages, is infinitely larger. So tell me, why are there still so many social contradictions?

Is controllable nuclear fusion for people today equivalent to the Industrial Revolution for people in the agricultural age?

Material abundance is sufficient, then what?

Endless food, countless robots serving everyone?

And then we humans will become as lazy as wriggling maggots, waiting for time to destroy us?”

Zhang Yan walked carefully on the curb, tiptoeing, “That’s so profound.” Although she didn’t know how to respond, she was happy to listen to Lin Yuan ramble.

“I think I understand Musk a bit now. Maybe I really am his long-lost brother.”

“Huh? Why are you bringing that up again?”

“I actually sent him an email. I told him: I’m not short on money now, but I’m very bored.”

“How did he reply to you?”

“He said: bro, come here and build rockets with me.”

“So are you going?”

“I want to take you and Xia Ye to see all the mountains and rivers first, but I think I will go find Old Ma one day. I suddenly understand the mindset of those who buy Teslas now. Some of them truly recognize Old Ma.

You say those rich people make so much money, no matter how much they show off, they’re just rambling in this small world called Earth. When they die of old age, they are actually not much different from ordinary people; they also leave nothing behind.”

“Senior Brother, if you want to be like Musk, you have to work hard. You first need to become a successful entrepreneur, so you have enough money to burn. Building rockets is very expensive. You also need good political and business connections, otherwise your rocket won’t get approval.”

Hearing the words “approval,” Lin Yuan couldn’t help but laugh, “You’re right, no approval, no going to space, haha.

Now that you mention it, I actually have a goal. Then I really need to make a lot of money. The money I have now is enough for daily life, but starting a business is out of the question.”

“Senior Brother, how much will you gain from this Good Group matter?”

“Including short selling, I think several million should be no problem.”

“Then do you want to give me something?”

“How about a few hundred million?”

“Pervert.”

“Then what do you want?”

“Haven’t thought about it… Oh, right, your first rocket will be called: Yan Yuan. Yan Yuan, meaning to talk about distant places and look forward to the future.”

“Okay, I’ll fulfill your wish.”

“Really?” Zhang Yan said excitedly.

“What’s the big deal? I don’t even have a single hair of a rocket yet. No, I haven’t even learned a single word of rocket-related professional courses. Should I transfer my major to aerospace engineering?”

“Will your two masters agree?”

...

Lin Yuan and Zhang Yan chatted for a long time, so long that they didn’t even find a place to sit down for dinner. Instead, they bought multi-grain pancakes and egg-filled pancakes by the roadside, then took turns eating, walking, and chatting.

Lin Yuan felt that this was probably the life he wanted most.

“Senior Brother.” Zhang Yan suddenly looked at him affectionately.

“Hmm?”

“You love me the most, don’t you?”

“Why add ‘the most’?”

“Because only I would accompany you with such nonsense.”

Lin Yuan suddenly realized that Xia Ye really wouldn’t listen to his rambling like this. Xia Ye liked to share popular DY videos she found with him and talk about her various encounters during the day.

Lin Yuan sighed, “One is a grain of rice, the other is a white moonlight. Both are pretty good, actually.”

“So I’m your white moonlight?”

“But I think both white moonlights and grains of rice are pretty good.” This was Lin Yuan’s honest thought; listening to Xia Ye’s daily chatter was also quite satisfying.

“I don’t care, I’m the white moonlight anyway.” Zhang Yan said happily, “It’s enough that I’m your white moonlight.”

“I once thought Xia Ye was my white moonlight, but it turns out you are my white moonlight. So in the future… will my white moonlight be… a rocket? Because only a rocket can truly catch up to the white moonlight.”

“You science guys are such spoilsports.” Zhang Yan pouted, “You say something like that at such an emotional moment.”

Meanwhile, Xia Ye was sweating profusely in the brightly lit dance studio in the evening.

“Xia Ye, stop practicing, go home.”

Xia Ye ignored Song Xiaoxiao’s persuasion and only stopped when the music ended.

“Lin Yuan and Zhang Yan went shopping, so I have nothing to do if I go back.”

Hearing the resentment in Xia Ye’s voice, Song Xiaoxiao stepped forward and hugged her, “Still can’t let it go?”

“Not really,” Xia Ye suddenly seemed a bit lost, “I feel like this past year since graduation has been like a decade. Xiao Xiao, I understand so many things you said now. Actually, Lin Yuan didn’t do anything wrong.

But… but I’m still a bit unwilling.”

Song Xiaoxiao said nothing more, just held Xia Ye tighter.
