Algorithm system

Algorithm Storm 1There’s a saying in business: the one who kills you might well be an amateur.

This saying has proven true in many places.

While the car manufacturers were fighting tooth and nail, Coarse Grain Factory quietly released a major move. It turned out that a car really could be built in three years.

Whether people are willing to admit it or not, the sales volume has shown that cars bearing the Coarse Grain Factory logo have established a foothold.

And it’s the same in the food delivery industry.

Good Group and Lanbiao Factory guarded against each other for many years, and also disgusted each other for many years. The result was that they weren’t killed by the opponents they thought they had, but by Tesla and Coarse Grain Factory, who crossed industries.

Lei Zi’s Coarse Grain Factory already has a large amount of overseas capital behind it. Lei Zi’s long-term goal in entering the food delivery industry is to keep pace with Tesla and ensure that Coarse Grain Factory does not fall behind in the future AI algorithm field.

Lin Yuan guessed that his short-term goal was most likely to short Good Group.

Even if Lei Zi didn’t have this idea, the capital behind Lei Zi wouldn’t let go of such an opportunity.

Of course, Lin Yuan didn’t even need to think; Musk must have already started shorting Good Group.

It’s even possible that the two parties’ capital have secretly communicated and are simultaneously shorting Good Group and Alibaba. Although Lanbiao Factory is not listed, it is ultimately part of the Alibaba system. If Lanbiao Factory’s business is damaged, it will naturally affect Alibaba’s stock price.

However, Good Group was clearly affected more.

Lin Yuan also gradually got used to this kind of operation in the business world. Adding insult to injury and kicking someone when they’re down are two things that happen every day in the real world.

When Lin Yuan completed the first draft of the food safety control AI algorithm, Tesla Food Delivery version 1.0 was officially launched.

All merchants and their employees who joined voluntarily signed a personal privacy disclosure agreement, allowing Tesla Food Delivery to capture surveillance footage of their work areas.

This allows every food delivery order in the order list on the Tesla Food Delivery APP to be traced back to the cooking process footage of that order.

Users can see the entire process of their ordered food, from raw materials to finished product.

As a result, merchants claiming to use fresh meat no longer dared to use frozen meat. Otherwise, the surveillance AI algorithm would impose severe penalties and require rectification.

Shops claiming freshly squeezed juice no longer dared to mix in powdered juice concentrate;

The consistency of preserved egg and lean pork congee no longer relied on thickening additives;

Even employees not wearing masks during the cooking process would be caught by the AI algorithm and reminded, and after multiple ineffective reminders, they would be warned.

For a time, sharing the cooking process of one’s food delivery became a new trend on social platforms.

Everyone sarcastically mused: What the hell have I been eating all these years?

[”So this is what fresh tea tastes like; turns out what I ate before was mostly frozen meat; damn, I finally ate authentic seafood.”]

[”The guy who made this milk tea for me is a bit handsome, can Tesla Food Delivery introduce a designated ordering function?”]

When Lin Yuan’s second draft of the AI algorithm went online, he even integrated industrial-grade dedicated multi-spectral deep detection array cameras, which can scan and sample the multi-spectral data of liquids to determine the approximate content of various components in the liquid.

This can be used to distinguish between freshly squeezed juice and powdered juice concentrate, as their spectral information is different.

Similarly, liquids made from fresh milk and powdered milk, under big data comparison, can also reveal differences.

Lin Yuan had essentially installed an industrial-grade spectral monitoring system above every merchant.

Lin Yuan did this based on the principle: only supervision can guarantee rules.

Without full-process control, true, universal food safety can only rely on unscheduled spot checks and the personal conduct of practitioners. But Lin Yuan obviously doesn’t believe that the human species will maintain self-awareness over a long period of time.

Therefore, any rules and regulations are not as reliable as AI algorithm-driven monitoring.

The AI algorithm will provide each registered merchant with a daily monitoring report at closing time every day. The report will detail the work performance evaluation of each employee. Reasons for employee deductions will be listed, and corresponding surveillance footage will be attached.

Even the surveillance footage will have additional red circle annotations.

Of course, merchants can appeal, as the AI algorithm may not be accurate enough in its early stages.

After an appeal is initiated, Tesla Food Delivery’s manual review will follow up and re-verify. For merchants who accumulate a certain number of groundless appeals, Tesla Food Delivery will lower their rating.

This rating will combine the merchant’s overall operational score to form a comprehensive ”Food Safety Score.” This score will then be visible to all customers.

The AI algorithm will score employee violations, and this scoring is accumulated daily. Every violation by an employee on that day will be scored. If the score accumulates to a certain amount, it will not wait until the daily closing report to issue a reminder.

The AI algorithm will immediately notify the merchant’s management personnel, requiring them to make immediate rectifications, and suspend the employee’s work for several days depending on the severity of the violation.

If the nature of the violation is serious, such as intentionally spitting into a drink, which is absolutely unacceptable behavior, then immediate dismissal will occur.

Since the AI algorithm inherited human body recognition, the human body recognition AI algorithm Lin Yuan inherited not only includes facial recognition but also body shape recognition. As a result, dismissed employees are effectively unable to work again in any Tesla Food Delivery franchised store.

Because even if the employee wears a mask, the AI algorithm’s human body recognition will determine their identity.

Of course, for personnel whose violations are not serious, such as simply not cleaning ingredients thoroughly, at most, they will be required to undergo retraining before returning to work.

Such an AI algorithm is actually very cruel.

This became apparent not long after the AI algorithm went online, and Tesla Food Delivery received a large amount of criticism.

The biggest controversy was not domestic, but international.

Overseas netizens felt that Musk was simply insane.

Because under this real-time, strict monitoring AI algorithm, humans have virtually become slaves to AI. Every human action will be scored by AI, meaning AI determines human work results, and AI becomes the judge.

For a time, cries of

Musk is a devil

echoed across the international internet.

On the domestic internet, Lin Yuan was also made into various memes. He was largely seen as a representative figure of evil capitalists. He was like someone hiding behind the scenes, manipulating individuals enslaved by AI through fine threads derived from AI algorithms.

Lin Yuan was considered someone who greatly advanced the efficiency of capitalist exploitation, because his AI algorithm was clearly about to make everyone lose the opportunity to slack off at work.

This was much harsher than companies that even timed bathroom breaks. Because those companies still had people to administer punishment.

But the AI algorithm would silently record everything, and then form statistical data from an individual’s actions. Your every action would be precise to the second, and would be accompanied by footage.

This left workers with no recourse for arbitration, because employers held video evidence: ”Look, on a certain day, at a certain hour, minute, and second, you were scrolling on Douyin.”

This fear sent shivers down the spines of ordinary office workers outside the food delivery industry.

Why

office workers outside the food delivery industry

? Because those within the food delivery industry were very happy.

Due to the application of this AI algorithm fully guaranteeing food safety, there are many wealthy people in Dragon Country, and plenty of people willing to pay for food safety.

As a result, the food delivery industry rapidly pushed towards the mid-to-high end.

This led to a significant increase in salaries for delivery riderss and merchant employees.

Although being supervised all day while working was unpleasant, Lin Yuan’s AI algorithm was very humane. The AI algorithm set work intervals, ensuring that staff would not work tirelessly all day.

Most importantly, Lin Yuan strongly pushed performance evaluations through the AI algorithm.

If an employee with an excellent AI algorithm assessment result did not receive the corresponding salary from their employer, they could initiate a subrogation inquiry with Tesla Food Delivery.

Tesla Food Delivery would demand a reasonable salary from the merchant on their behalf, and if the merchant refused, they would quickly be labeled a ”sweatshop.”

So, a bizarre scene emerged—workers dominated by the AI algorithm shouted: ”I’d rather be ruled by the AI algorithm than by humans!” While others not dominated by the AI algorithm looked worried, fearing that misfortune would befall them.
