I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 399: Chapter 51: Ferguson’s Ambitions (C. Ronaldo, Rooney, Bell)

This also added some uncontrollable factors to Chen Zhong when he got the ball.

After dodging Banega, Chen Zhong was not completely safe. His physique destined him not to be able to connect the next move quickly like some short players or raise his speed to the extreme in the shortest time!

As he rushed towards the ball that was lobbed over, Valencia players also hurried over from the side.

This caused some Real Madrid fans to feel regretful, even nostalgic for Robinho. In Chen Zhong’s first season playing for Real Madrid, Robinho often got the ball in this position and then like a sharp dagger, pierced straight into the opponent’s heart. If Robinho were here, he might have already broken into Valencia’s penalty area.

Of course, some fans began to lament Kaka’s absence. If Kaka were here, Chen Zhong would have no need to hold the ball himself. He could pass it directly to Kaka and then move forward, just waiting for his teammate’s pass.

”A smart choice!”

”Facing the approach of Valencia players.”

”Chen Zhong did not choose to hastily pass the ball!”

”He kept the ball securely at his feet.”

”Waiting for his teammates’ runs!”

”C. Ronaldo and Callejon are making runs on both sides.”

”Negredo is also positioning himself!”

In Real Madrid’s midfield setup, when Chen Zhong moves forward, Baptista would retreat to fill the gap left by Chen Zhong’s advance.

So at this moment, Chen Zhong’s position is actually an attacking midfielder.

In the past, Chen Zhong was actually very hard-pressed to fulfill the role of an attacking midfielder, but now he has excellent long and short passing skills and a heavy cannon, along with outstanding vision and positioning, which allow him to play an ”alternative” attacking midfielder.

Everyone thought Chen Zhong was waiting for his teammates in place, even seasoned commentators thought so. However, in reality, Chen Zhong waited until the moment Valencia players got close, then swiftly nudged the ball forward and his body pressed against the Valencia player.

Kaka has very strong abilities to shake off defenders in place, because he has very fast start-up speed. Players with good explosive speed would also use rhythm changes to shake off opponents around them.

Chen Zhong is clearly not the type of player like Kaka.

Therefore, he chose the moment when Valencia players quickly approached him while realizing he hadn’t passed the ball, slowly reducing speed as if to brake, then nudged the ball, and his entire body leaned forward to ”brush” against the Valencia player.

This is also a change in rhythm.

Valencia’s two center-backs instantly realized danger. At the moment their teammate fell, they too were quickly drawn and moved by Chen Zhong.

And at the moment they moved, Chen Zhong took a shot!

”No pass!”

”One nudge!”

”Wow! What a strong body!”

”Valencia’s reaction is very quick!”

”Three-player press!”

”Chen Zhong takes a shot!”

Seeing Chen Zhong’s raised foot ready to shoot, Valencia players quickly realized the danger. Watching videos, they had repeatedly seen Chen Zhong’s heavy cannon shots, so two center-backs quickly raised their feet to intercept the ball.

However, Chen Zhong was not intending to blast the goal but instead a fake shot turned real pass, threading the ball to the slanting Cristiano Ronaldo!

C. Ronaldo dashed like an arrow, shot into Valencia’s penalty area!

Valencia’s full-back wanted to engage in body confrontation with C. Ronaldo, but C. Ronaldo’s physique was like a bug on the flank.

A winger with speed and physical strength, and with exquisite shooting skills and immense fighting spirit, at this moment, demonstrated his terror.

The ball transformed into a white shadow, past the side of the goalkeeper, crashing into the net.

0:1

Real Madrid took the lead first!

This scene was as fast as lightning, those who thought losing Kaka left Chen Zhong like a bird with one wing, were taken aback.

Ah!

Turns out Chen Zhong is not only capable of having ”skilled” cooperation with Kaka, he actually has chemistry with C. Ronaldo too!

In the stands, Real Madrid fans let out joyful sounds, while Valencia fans used boos to try and overshadow the joyful atmosphere!

After completing the goal, C. Ronaldo pointed to Chen Zhong, then ran towards the corner flag, spreading his arms open, looking back at Chen Zhong, as if saying: ”Come on! Brother, I scored, aren’t you coming to give me a hug?”

Chen Zhong laughed and ran towards C. Ronaldo, wrapping his arms around C. Ronaldo’s waist, and with one hand ”pulling up the green onion from dry land” lifted C. Ronaldo high!

At this moment, C. Ronaldo smiled like a child!

But his smile slowly began to fade, because when Chen Zhong lifted him high, he could clearly hear the voices originally calling his name slowly turning to ”Chen!”

And in front of the television, watching this match, Lord Ferguson was solemnly watching this scene. Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left, Ferguson felt like he lost his soul. He thought he and C. Ronaldo were no longer destined, but watching what C. Ronaldo endured at Real Madrid, he suddenly felt everything was still hopeful.

The ”child” I raised, I understand his ambition better than anyone.

Just like me!

Everyone thought I might already be reaching the age of retirement!

But!

I believe I can still work a few more years, I can still build another Manchester United dynasty.

Ferguson has already submitted his ”new” plan. He has his eye on Gareth Bale from Tottenham, that kid with absolute speed, will surely become another powerful wing for Manchester United along with the ever-contending Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ferguson started imagining, when he brings C. Ronaldo and Bale to Manchester United, then pairs them with Rooney in the middle, how many Champions League titles Manchester United could still win!

”No one knows Cristiano better than I do...”

”He will not willingly allow anyone to be more important than him.”

...

On the sideline, Pellegrini finally put his mind at ease. He is not good at playing against headwinds, but when leading a goal in a favorable situation, he plays well, and he’s very good at it!

Emery on the side showed a wry smile!

How to describe that goal just now!

He had calculated everything to the extreme, the only thing he couldn’t see through was Chen Zhong.

Many consider Messi as the ”great enemy”, Chen Zhong perhaps doesn’t have the same exhilarating drive like Messi, but you can never guess what his eyes have seen, what his next move is for!

They are both capable of disrupting the entire match rhythm with their individual abilities!

Real Madrid scoring first put Valencia in a passive position. They urgently wanted to quickly equalize the score, while Real Madrid, leading by one goal, was playing very composedly!

In the 9th minute, Mata faced Real Madrid’s pressing and chose to pass back, in the 12th minute, Silva took the ball on the right side of the penalty area, attempted to beat players, but was directly tackled to the ground together with the ball by Chen Zhong who charged in from the side.

This scene made Valencia fans in the stands furious, and seeing this, Mata’s mouth slightly tilted up, chuckling, hey hey, he tackled him not me, yay!

In the 15th minute, Banega made a pass, Silva’s shot from the edge of the penalty area was blocked by Pepe.

In the 17th minute, after Valencia launched successive attacks, they slightly slowed down their pace. Real Madrid started a counterattack, Cristiano Ronaldo broke into the penalty area and crossed, Negredo jumped high, a strong header was saved by the goalkeeper.

Real Madrid earned a corner opportunity, the ball accurately found Chen Zhong, Chen Zhong, under siege, did not choose to shoot, but headed the ball to Pepe, who stopped it with his chest and tried to shoot but was caught by the goalkeeper!

This scenario made C. Ronaldo on the side look anxious!

That expression seemed to say, if the ball was given to me it would have gone in, brother!
