I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 385: Chapter 44: A Single Remark Stirs Up a Thousand Waves

After the match, the reporters surrounded Chen Zhong, hoping he would accept an interview.

Faced with the reporters’ cameras, Chen Zhong did not flinch at all, instead stood boldly in place. His posture made the reporters couldn’t help but say to themselves: ”Handsome.”

”Chen, what do you think of Barcelona’s recent sixth championship win?”

”Do you think the title of ’Six-time Champion’ would be Barcelona’s most successful achievement?”

”Most successful achievement?” Chen Zhong turned his head to look at the reporter who said this, smiled, and then replied, ”No, I don’t think so.”

”I don’t think Barcelona’s most successful achievement is winning six championships.”

”It’s successfully making some fans believe that Barcelona and Real Madrid are teams on the same level.”

After saying this with a smile, Chen Zhong turned and left, leaving the reporters in disarray and exceptionally excited.

Chen Zhong didn’t care, he knew what these reporters would write after the interview ended, but he didn’t mind, he represented Real Madrid after all.

Meanwhile, online, many viewers of the live broadcast were asking soul-searching questions.

[Isn’t Barcelona and Real Madrid on the same level though?]

[Is Chen Zhong crazy, aren’t Barcelona and Real Madrid both La Liga giants?]

[Oh come on, are you crazy upstairs! When did Barcelona start comparing themselves to Real Madrid?]

[Is Chen floating just because he got a Golden Boy Award? Does he think the Ballon d’Or is inherited?]

...

This was what some relatively rational netizens said at the beginning, and then, some ”championship fans”, who became fans of the team because of the championship, started to refute this statement.

They didn’t care about history at all, directly saying things like ”You’re just jealous of Messi’s Ballon d’Or.” ”You’re just envious of Barcelona’s Six-time Champion.” ”Which team won Spain’s first Triple Crown?”

Such comments emerged one after another.

Even England’s media began to speak up for Cristiano Ronaldo.

They published articles like ”Chen is still a child.” ”Cristiano Ronaldo has more leadership qualities.” to express their dissatisfaction with the Real Madrid Team captain.

On the contrary, Raul and Guti, who have already joined Milan, publicly supported Chen Zhong.

Facing the camera, Raul said, ”I deeply love Real Madrid.”

”Back then, I personally drove Chen to the first team, I understand his capabilities better than anyone.”

”He is a highly potential person. I am not surprised by his words because he is Real Madrid’s captain, and within his body runs the purest blood.”

Guti also said, ”If Messi had said a season ago he would lead the team to win the Triple Crown.”

”If Guardiola said he led the team to win the Six-time Champion, you would have thought they were crazy. I still remember how you doubted them back then.”

”And at the start of the season, after Raul and I left, you also said a lot, but now Real Madrid is doing well.”

”Cristiano was out injured for two months, but the team wasn’t affected. We all know who’s credit it is, Chen stepped up, filled the goal gap, and with goal after goal helped the team surpass Barcelona in the league standings, finish first in the Champions League group stage, and progress triumphantly in the King’s Cup.”

”He has the ability to achieve everything he says.”

Not just players, even some coaches have publicly spoken out, for example, Real Madrid’s former head coach Schuster. It might have been when Raul and Guti were cleared out, or maybe when he was fired, he finally understood one thing: Chen Zhong, Raul, and Guti weren’t in cahoots, and Chen Zhong didn’t conspire with Raul.

Facing the camera, the ”downcast” lion spoke, ”If last season, nothing happened between me and Chen.”

”Hmm...I’ve seen his performance at Milan, if he was in the team then, I wouldn’t have said such things before the match with Barcelona.”

”He may not be the best player in the world right now, but when he’s with the team, on the field, I can clearly feel that the team is tougher, more determined, more united.”

At this point, Schuster paused, looked up at the camera, and said, ”This is a lesson I want to apologize to Chen if I get the chance.”

”I’ve also realized how remarkable what he did was back then.”

Schuster, in his second season coaching Real Madrid, was overwhelmed by the ”success” of his first season, setting multiple records and defending the league title, even beating Barcelona twice.

In the second season, Rijkaard was dismissed, Ronaldinho was expelled, the little-known Guardiola took charge, making Schuster feel it was time to create a Real Madrid of his own.

Eventually, his ”dream” shattered after removing Chen Zhong, and he finally understood, the dressing room didn’t overthrow him because Chen Zhong was still maintaining peace, and when Chen Zhong stopped ”supporting” him.

He, Schuster, was nobody.

He personally sent his ”talisman” to Milan.

What Schuster referred to as the remarkable thing, was how Chen Zhong was quietly suspected, yet restrained himself for dressing room harmony, something that an ”old hand” would have blown up over.

This led Schuster to misjudge Chen Zhong’s importance to the team.

After Schuster’s speech, the reporters’ eyes lit up, they began seeking coaches who had interacted with Chen, starting from youth team coaches, everyone praised Chen Zhong.

The English media immediately contacted Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian coach who built the ”Milan Dynasty” and now coaches Chelsea.

In his last season coaching Milan, the team borrowed Chen Zhong for half a season at a low price during the winter transfer window, and in a seemingly barren season.

Milan’s turning point began with the heavy use of Chen Zhong.

They unexpectedly surpassed Inter Milan to win the Italian league title and fought their way from the UEFA Europa League to the finals, where they successfully won the UEFA Europa League title.

Sadly, in the new season, the successive departures of Kaka, Chen Zhong, and other players led to conflicts between Ancelotti and Milan’s management, eventually parting ways.

Ancelotti became the new ”captain” of Chelsea.

This season, Chelsea’s goal tally is quite impressive, many believe they might create a record for goals scored in a single Chelsea season.

Facing the reporter’s interview, Ancelotti joked, ”If I had known I would leave Milan, I would’ve recommended myself to Real Madrid.”

”After all, Real Madrid has Chen Zhong, Kaka, Pirlo.”

”Those are players I’m familiar with.”

”Oh, and Chen.”

”He’s a player I really like. In my view, he’s on par with Lampard, capable of leading the team to miracles, even if he fails, but considering his age, he will eventually succeed.”

Ancelotti’s eyes sparkled as he faced the camera, his gaze full of memories.

His words were noted by Florentino, etched in his mind.

Although he’s in talks with Mourinho, if Ancelotti could come to Real Madrid, it’d seem like a good option, given his happy collaboration with Chen, whereas Mourinho...
