I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 389: Chapter 46: Saving Private Kaka

Francisco, without a doubt, is now the one watching over the training ground. He felt Chen Zhong’s gaze and, after hesitating for a moment, blew the whistle in his mouth and said, ”Guys!”

”Today’s training is over!”

”Everyone go back and rest early!”

This was at least one or two hours earlier than the scheduled end time for training.

And the surrounding players already knew the reason, which was that Chen Zhong had noticed Kaka’s discomfort and wanted to take Kaka for a health check.

Casillas rubbed his chin and said nothing, while Ramos’ eyes flickered, and other players gathered in twos and threes.

Among them, Higuain’s gaze was the hottest. Looking at Chen Zhong’s ”dominant” manner, he couldn’t help but think, ”That’s how a real man should be.”

One day, when I have the power!

I won’t be the overtime dog anymore!

Chen Zhong looked at Francisco, and couldn’t help but smile. After all, leaving directly during training and pulling someone to end training early was a completely different matter when spread around.

Moreover, looking at the way other players were, if Chen Zhong left with Kaka, it was highly likely they would all follow along.

Speaking of which, Cristiano Ronaldo was a given, and mischievous Marcelo, Negredo, Granero, and others would also follow, and once they left, the remaining players naturally wouldn’t stay here either.

In other words, who doesn’t like ”skipping class,” who doesn’t love ”slacking off” at work!

Everyone formed a ”stream of people” following Chen Zhong forward, with Francisco also mingling among them, each offering their own suggestions, hoping to recommend a familiar doctor to Kaka for a check-up.

But Chen Zhong frowned and said, ”Why should the check-up cost money?”

”Alvaro! Call Hulun and have him arrange for Oscar to receive us!”

”Damn.” Negredo reluctantly pulled out his phone and said, ”Why don’t you call him yourself, he clearly likes you more.”

Julen Lopetegui, when Negredo and Mata were loaned out, they made a pact to see this coach on their last meeting. At that time, Chen Zhong found his name removed in the corridor, and was furious.

It turned out to be a misunderstanding, and he was transferred to the first team.

Back then, he, Negredo, and Mata were joking in the office that if Lopetegui became Real Madrid’s coach, they must all be brought back.

Now Negredo has returned to Real Madrid, while Mata is still with Valencia, whom they’ll face in a few days. It seems he has found his ”path” there and won’t be coming back.

As for Oscar mentioned by Chen Zhong — referring to Oscar Garro who was responsible for physical and medical management during Chen Zhong’s youth team period, he was also Lopetegui’s most trusted aide. If Lopetegui became the first team’s head coach, Oscar Garro would certainly rise too.

Benzema, Pirlo, Albiol, and other new signings exchanged glances, quickly understanding from the phone how solid Chen Zhong’s position was at Real Madrid.

Francisco blew the whistle to dismiss training for Chen’s sake, while the youth team’s head coach and medical team responded immediately, making them realize what ”King Without a Crown” really means.

”Oh~”

At the gate of Castilla, Lopetegui and Oscar Garro stood there awaiting Chen Zhong’s ”grand arrival,” exclaiming as they saw the mass of people behind him.

A few exchanged greetings, and then Lopetegui pulled Chen Zhong into a corner and whispered, ”What’s going on? Why are there so many people?”

”Anyone who didn’t know might think we’re the first team’s medical center here!”

”No need to check everyone, just Kaka is fine.”

”Kaka?”

Lopetegui’s gaze fell on Kaka, who also returned a smile. If it were just Kaka, there wouldn’t be any problem. If it were the whole team, that’d be a big issue.

After all, not going to the first team’s ”medical” and directly coming to Castilla’s medical team to check the entire first team.

What does this mean?

Would Disalvo tolerate this?

”Oscar!” Lopetegui called out loudly and then pointed at Kaka, ”Take him for a check-up.”

”As for the others...”

”Do you want to see how Chen Zhong was during his youth team days...”

...

Just as Chen Zhong led the players toward the Sports City, Castilla’s ”premises,” Real Madrid’s executives and coaches received the news.

Pellegrini only felt a headache.

As a ”puppet coach,” his power lay in tactical arrangements.

Other things, like transfers! Personnel changes! They had nothing to do with him, and even Disalvo’s voice held more weight than his. However, if the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up.

On the other side, Florentino once again convened a meeting with the higher-ups, discussing Chen Zhong leading the players to Castilla and the early training dismissal.

”From this, we can see that Pellegrini has lost control of the team. Our decision to replace him as head coach is correct.”

Florentino: Hmm (smiling face)

”But we must also strictly control Chen Zhong’s pressuring that led to ending training early. We can’t let him recklessly break the rules.”

Florentino: Hmm? (staring intently)

The atmosphere in the meeting room cooled a bit, but under Florentino’s smile, it soon eased. As a mature leader, he wouldn’t make his ”subordinates” afraid to speak.

”Everyone knows what happened.”

”Kaka felt unwell during training, and Chen, concerned about his teammate and the team, communicated with Kaka and felt further checks were needed.”

”To avoid any bad press from external sources, he communicated with Francisco early to end training and then went to Castilla’s treatment center for the player’s check-up.”

”Now we need to wait for the check-up results.”

”If it’s Chen’s misjudgment, it’s just because he cares too much about his teammate and the team. If Kaka indeed has other injuries, Disalvo...”

The meeting room fell silent, especially the first to speak, who was sweating profusely.

In his mouth, Chen Zhong was all sorts of ”selfish,” while from Florentino’s, it was turning big issues into small ones, and small ones into non-issues. Chen Zhong was still wholeheartedly for the public good.

Yes, that’s right!

No matter what Chen Zhong did, anyone with issues must be someone else.

All actions are for the good of the team.

Ending training? That was communicated.

Going to Castilla for a check-up? That was to avoid the ever-present reporters.

That was to ensure that the team’s performance wouldn’t be affected by those baseless reporters.

If Kaka really had a problem, Disalvo bore full responsibility. If Kaka didn’t, then Chen Zhong was merely concerned for his teammate...

Disalvo: Is anyone going to speak for me? Anyone!!!!!!

The meeting room was silent, everyone waiting for the check-up results, and in the meantime, discussions about who might succeed Disalvo if he left came up.

Disalvo was a remnant from the Calderon period, who was retained because a lot of money was spent at the time, and Florentino wanted to see if he had any skills.

But now, if Chen Zhong had issues with him, he really couldn’t be retained at all.

Florentino: If my precious ends up misdiagnosed, what will I do~

Zinedine Zidane, acting as a consultant, hesitated for a moment, but finally stood up because he realized that regardless of any misdiagnosis, Disalvo would likely stay only until the end of this season.

”I have a recommendation.”

”He’s...”
