I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 361: Chapter 34: Barcelona, Five Goals Achieved (Part 2)

”I swear, I will score 10, maybe even 20 goals against Barcelona.”

In the interview scene, bursts of laughter erupted from the audience, some even shouting out Manchester United and Ferguson’s names, implying that last season, Manchester United lost to Barcelona, handing over the Champions League title.

C. Ronaldo didn’t respond to this. He simply said, ”I am not who I was.”

”Okay! To put it another way, I don’t know if I can achieve that goal.”

”However, I believe my comeback will be beneficial to the team, even though this team doesn’t rely on me right now.”

When Cristiano Ronaldo said these words, people inevitably thought of the just eighteen-year-old man, who was praised by Guardiola as the ”best” defensive midfielder, the ”tactical enlightenment” player, and the player ”loved but unattainable” according to Guardiola.

This also inevitably brought more attention from Barcelona’s fans to Chen Zhong, while also raising more expectations for Bojan...

After all, if viewed from the youth training standards, Chen Zhong and Bojan belong to the same generation.

While C. Ronaldo attended the interview, Barcelona also issued a response.

Participating in the interview was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the unruly Swede dressed fashionably, eyes seemingly couldn’t contain anyone else in the lens, opening with, ”I am the best player in the world.”

Yes, at this time, Zlatan Ibrahimovic always thought he was the best player in the world.

When talking about Real Madrid, he arrogantly stated, ”Real Madrid isn’t even the hottest team.”

”The team I’m in is the hottest.”

”I will help the team win and win the championship, that’s the reason I came here.”

Ibrahimovic’s words lit up the journalists’ eyes, constantly trying to extract some useful information from his mouth. When mentioning Chen Zhong, Ibrahimovic even more arrogantly declared, ”He’s just a kid. Last season we faced each other. Honestly, for a kid, he’s already doing well enough.”

Ibrahimovic’s controversial statements caused an uproar, and shortly after his interview, Guardiola and Messi appeared in front of the camera.

Messi quietly sat beside Guardiola, looking like a shy child, while Guardiola, eyes gleaming, said, ”If you ask me who is the best forward player, I would say Messi. If you ask me who is the best midfielder, I would say Chen. Of course, if there is an evaluation for the best defensive player, without a doubt, I would still say Chen’s name.”

”Regarding who is the favorite and who isn’t, it’s not something that needs discussion.”

”Because for me, who is the favorite is simply not a matter that needs debate.”

”Since both of our clubs are truly great teams, there is no so-called favorite. Our squads are good, the players’ level is high, we respect the opponent, and will go all out.”

After Guardiola finished speaking, Messi also opened his mouth, ”I don’t care about those remarks, I just want to play well.”

”As for Chen, actually last season I was always looking forward to facing him again. Our only encounter wasn’t a good start.”

”I stood beside the players’ tunnel, waiting for his appearance, then shook hands with him.”

”Last season I anticipated going up against him, but he didn’t play and left Real Madrid.”

When Messi spoke, he would occasionally twitch the corners of his mouth and touch his nose. Every time he mentioned Chen Zhong, his eyes would light up, filled with a competitive spirit in his bright, sparkling eyes.

After Guardiola and Messi’s interview, Pellegrini and Chen Zhong were also arranged to be interviewed in response.

The hype for this match was unprecedented, because at Camp Nou, they were about to welcome the top stars in the world.

Despite the different philosophies of the two clubs, they share a common point—possessing the best stars.

Although a player’s worth cannot be entirely measured by their price tag, it’s an important criterion.

In the past summer, the two Spanish clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid, invested 430 million Euros in the transfer market.

It’s a staggering figure, enough to make other European football giants affected by the economic crisis envious.

As the defending champions of La Liga and the Champions League, Barcelona invested 116 million Euros, which was operated on the basis of maintaining the team’s main framework. Real Madrid was even crazier, spending 314 million Euros, almost rebuilding the entire team.

Besides Barcelona and Real Madrid, Sevilla was the next biggest spender with an amount of 27.5 million Euros.

However, not all players from both clubs are ”imported products.” Just like Barcelona has many youth academy players, Real Madrid also has many players from Castilla, the Real Madrid youth academy.

For instance, Negredo, Granero, Callejon, Casillas...

Of course, the most brilliant among them is Chen Zhong.

It’s also worth mentioning that Real Madrid’s squad has an average age not even above 23, a very terrifying statistic.

In this match, both teams’ starting lineups received special attention, as they wanted to know if this match not only symbolized competition among youth trainings as well.
