Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

After Lan Yiyi dropped that line, she pulled Chen Rui out to continue discussing the story.

Li Younan was left somewhat speechless.

...

They settled the afternoon meal at the ranch.

In the guest room, the kitchen cooked hearty prairie-flavored food, naturally including milk tea and roasted lamb.

However, today’s main dish was rice, because Lan Yiyi knew that Li Younan and Chen Rui were both from Sichuan and preferred rice over noodles.

There were also two stir-fried dishes, but overall, the meal was quite simple, which actually made it feel more natural and less formal.

At the dining table, the two girls continued their discussion over the plot.

Chen Rui somehow acquired a laptop and started to jot down some important points as they talked.

Li Younan, quietly admiring the two girls’ decisiveness, listened.

The story seemed to be gradually taking shape, even though only a few hours had passed.

This subtly confirmed a truth: creative endeavors aren’t necessarily better when they’re slow; often, the results are superior when inspiration strikes quickly.

The two girls were in such a state, sparks of inspiration constantly flew, and the story unfolded rapidly yet was full of exciting moments.

However, to turn this story into a fully shootable screenplay, it would still require some time for careful polishing.

Li Younan grew a bit curious; surely, they weren’t planning on writing and directing straight away?

He glanced out the window towards the fields, calmly concluding that this place would be quite suitable for filming the scene where Empress Xing got kidnapped.

Their discussion shifted from plot points to specific filming details.

”We still need a male lead, the male lead has to be handsome.”

”You’re not using Zhao Gou?”

”You’re right, Zhao Gou is so useless, can’t even protect his own wife. Anyway, it’s a fun story, Empress Xing is destined to be a queen, the male lead has to be a... handsome guy!”

”Not easy to find someone like that on short notice...”

”No problem, isn’t he right here?” Lan Yiyi quickly pointed at Li Younan.

The atmosphere paused for a brief moment.

Chen Rui blinked, whereas Li Younan ignored the two of them.

Then the conversation continued.

”And I think if the short series is too brief, it definitely won’t cover everything.”

”No worries, just split it by seasons like the current trend.”

Li Younan chimed in again: ”The first season could be about just getting kidnapped and organizing former forces to fight back...”

”Finding a way to gather a cavalry troop of two to three hundred people.”

”Hua Mulan, originally from the Northern Wei, incredibly familiar with the northern lands, mastered the cavalry nomadic peoples’ tactics, something Jin Dynasty couldn’t foresee. Once breaking through the encirclement, instead of heading south, they would do the opposite, storming into Jin Dynasty’s heartland, treating their people the same way Jin Dynasty treated Southern Song...”

”Conducting guerrilla warfare, gradually expanding their strength... shocking the Jin Dynasty constantly along the way.”

”You can write the framework like this, although when it comes to emotional aspects and character designs, you two are more adept.”

Chen Rui admiringly said, ”For that kind of military-political direction, guys indeed handle it better; let’s design it this way, but how would that handsome guy play a role...”

Li Younan amusingly listened as the two continued discussing, introducing some necessary roles into the story.

Soon, they encountered their first tricky problem: for the final boss designed in the first season, there wasn’t a suitable person to play the role.

As the two chatted idly, Li Younan picked up his phone because someone sent him a message.

He looked at it; it was from the burly, rough-faced Batur.

”Bro, we’ve arrived in Xilinhot! Where are you?”
