Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Li Younan hit two arrows in succession, both while moving, hitting with an extremely difficult posture.

At this moment, there were quite a few people busy at the racecourse, and most of them didn’t notice this scene, but some coincidentally caught a glimpse and exclaimed, ”Nice!”

Lan Yiyi and the others, who were closer, felt it most directly.

Among these three, Chen Rui was the one who felt the most indifferent.

After all, she didn’t know much about Li Younan before, and more importantly, she didn’t know much about horseback archery. Naturally, she thought Li Younan was cool, but she couldn’t discern the level of skill in his actions.

In contrast, Lan Yiyi often dabbled in horseback archery herself. Her shooting was based on luck, and once on horseback, she lost all accuracy.

Li Younan, the breeze gently blew his hair, Lan Yiyi watched him in silence.

It seemed like he didn’t plan to shoot anymore, controlling the horse to gradually halt, holding the bow in his hand, with a contemplative expression.

Overall, the two arrows earlier mostly met his expectations, but there were still some dissatisfactions.

The bow he used had too low a poundage, and in horseback archery, the distance between the person and the target isn’t very far, so in terms of aiming, it’s not that difficult. The challenge lies in maintaining a good balance and simultaneously shooting arrows in succession.

And this bow in his hand had low poundage, which was, of course, for ease of shooting.

If it were too stiff, it wouldn’t be easy to draw. In horseback archery, you also don’t need to shoot far, so such a bow lacks precision at a slightly further distance.

Because the bow’s poundage is too low, at a longer distance, you can only lob the arrows, unable to shoot exactly where you point.

Although for Li Younan, he only needs to get accustomed to it to quickly grasp the temperament of this bow, he still prefers a stiffer bow that shoots straight and powerfully, which is more satisfying.

Li Younan couldn’t help but think of how in ancient times, the Mongol Empire relied on horse-mounted archers like this to conquer vast lands.

Riding on horseback, even if their shots weren’t far, they could easily treat infantry as living targets due to their strong mobility advantage.

After experiencing the charm of horseback archery, Li Younan could feel this more intensely.

After Li Younan finished experiencing horseback archery, Lan Yiyi had two more horses brought over, letting Chen Rui continue to ride the red horse, taking them for a walk around the area.

After the earlier experience, Chen Rui wasn’t as afraid.

As Lan Yiyi said, that red horse was the most gentle-natured one here.

Chen Rui gradually became less tense riding it, and after a while, she even got a bit bolder, happily swinging her legs.

No matter how much Chen Rui wriggled on horseback, the horse remained calm and relaxed.

The three horses weren’t in a hurry either, walking side by side at a slow pace.

Overall, the scenery around was quite pleasant. As far as the eye could see, it was a vast canvas recolored by the seasons—the once-rolling green waves replaced by a golden yellow, with thin layers of snow in some places, and heavy clouds hanging low in the distance.

At first, Lan Yiyi was very earnest, explaining to Li Younan and Chen Rui some things about Xilinhot, such as important breeding bases there, and which horse racing festivals were famous, as well as the Nadamu Festival.

As one of Inner Mongolia’s most distinctive grand events, when it came to the Nadamu Festival, Lan Yiyi became quite eloquent, explaining the manly three arts: wrestling, horse riding, and archery.

She also mentioned the Nadamu Festival in Xilinhot being held in mid-July, with people from their racecourse participating every year.

Li Younan and Chen Rui listened intently, occasionally throwing in two or three questions for Lan Yiyi to answer.

The questions were naturally quite curious, such as whether participants in the Nadamu Festival could wear sponsor-branded clothing, or if a tourist won the Nadamu championship, would Princess Hua Zheng keep them as a prince consort.

Overall, the Nadamu Festival is a rich event, not only featuring competitive activities but also rich cultural performances, such as the morin khuur and throat singing that were familiar to Li Younan and the others.

Most of the questions were from Chen Rui, and before long, the conversation veered off topic, somehow shifting to acting.

Lan Yiyi vividly narrated some dark secrets of the entertainment industry to Chen Rui and Li Younan, along with some well-sourced truths she knew.

Even Li Younan was a bit surprised by what he heard, while Chen Rui was visibly shocked, often furrowing her brows or leaving her mouth slightly agape, unable to fully digest the information.

Seeing their astonished faces, Lan Yiyi was quite delighted.

After walking for a long time, they reached a river. Li Younan turned his horse around, preparing to go back, and commented to Lan Yiyi, ”You talk about the entertainment industry like a complete outsider, it’s almost like bashing it?”

Lan Yiyi thought about it: ”Does the entertainment industry need me to bash it?”

Li Younan considered this and found it true.

Chen Rui curiously asked, ”Then why did you still enter it?”

This was also what Li Younan was curious about. Given Lan Yiyi’s good family background, she wasn’t short of money, and she liked horse riding, which was associated with freedom. Li Younan recalled when he first met Lan Yiyi, she was still being scolded by a director, what did she gain from it...
