Chaotic Sword God

Jian Chen did not disturb the Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal disciples. Instead, he gathered the nine Immortal Emperors and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, sternly asking them for everything they knew about the Hole of Reincarnation.

Seeing how stern Jian Chen was, the Immortal Emperors and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt did not ask any questions despite being quite curious. They all told him everything they knew about the Hole of Reincarnation.

However, their knowledge was nothing new to Jian Chen. Basically none of it were secrets in the Immortals’ World.

“Have you ever heard rumours about the Hole of Reincarnation affecting the emotions of people?” Jian Chen asked.

“Affecting the emotions of people?” When they heard that, they looked at one another before shaking their heads.

“Sect master, there are many rumours regarding the Hole of Reincarnation in the Immortals’ World, but we have never heard about it affecting the emotions of people…”

“Let alone affecting emotions, there are no rumours that even touch on emotions. Of course, if you insist on it, there’s everyone’s greed towards the Hole of Reincarnation. After all, with Daowei Chengqing as an example, many people hunger for the treasures in the Hole of Reincarnation…”

......

…

Jian Chen did not learn anything useful from the nine Immortal Emperors and the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt. After leaving the Primeval Divine Hall, Jian Chen sat in his room. He continued to ponder about the sorrow that arose strangely.

It had happened twice already. The strange sorrow seemed to weigh on Jian Chen’s mind permanently now. Unless he got to the bottom of it, he would struggle to find peace.

After some thought, Jian Chen called for the artifact spirit of the Observance Heaven City again. Through the artifact spirit, he met the master of the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets again without any obstruction.

As a Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt, the pavilion master possessed tremendous status. Even if the ancestors of peak organisations wanted to meet with him, it would be quite difficult, yet Jian Chen could basically visit him whenever he wanted. Such treatment only demonstrated how much the pavilion master cared for Jian Chen.

This time, Jian Chen cut right to the chase. He directly told the pavilion master about the emotions he experienced.

Jian Chen trusted the pavilion master very much, so he did not hide too many things. Of course, he did not disclose the strange phenomenon with the Hundred Superimposition Sword.

“You said the presence from the Hole of Reincarnation affects your emotions and leaves you in a state of uncontrollable sorrow?” When the pavilion master learnt about what had happened to Jian Chen, he was stunned. He was extremely shocked.

Even the way he looked at Jian Chen changed. There were hints of doubt as if he was trying to tell if Jian Chen was fooling around with him.

Jian Chen was stern. He said seriously, “Senior, not only are you extremely knowledgeable, but you can also peer into the secrets of the world. Have you ever heard of examples where the Hole of Reincarnation can affect people?”

“I haven’t. I only know that every single item that emerges from the Hole of Reincarnation is enough to drive people crazy. This is a result of their own greed. It cannot be attributed to the Hole of Reincarnation.” The pavilion master furrowed his brows tightly. He stared straight at Jian Chen and said in thought, “Apart from that, has the Hole of Reincarnation affected you in any other strange way?”

Jian Chen closely recalled his entire experience when he passed by the Hole of Reincarnation the first time. After a moment of hesitation, he said slowly, “I was overcome with an urge, an urge to enter the Hole of Reincarnation.”

When he heard that, the pavilion master’s face changed slightly. Enter the Hole of Reincarnation? That was nothing to joke about.

Throughout history, there were plenty of people who had entered the Hole of Reincarnation. They varied in strength. But without any exception, none of them returned. They were basically confirmed as dead.

As a matter of fact, the ancient records noted that a Grand Exalt had entered the Hole of Reincarnation, but they had not emerged even to this day, vanishing from the Immortals’ World forever.

Although the Hole of Reincarnation had been praised as a land of fortune throughout history, a place that could change the fates of people, it was also an abyss. It was an abyss of no return that could swallow all living creatures.

Daowei Chengqing’s appearance a hundred thousand years ago finally broke this curse, which also pushed the Hole of Reincarnation to a new peak.

The pavilion master sank into momentary silence. A good while later, he told Jian Chen extremely sternly, “There is something that you must remember. No matter what kind of effect the Hole of Reincarnation has on you, no matter how curious you are about the Hole of Reincarnation, you must never set foot inside.”

Jian Chen nodded. He was quite curious about the Hole of Reincarnation, but he was also extremely wary of it, holding it in deep veneration.

“I can’t tell you too much about the Hole of Reincarnation, as that place is far too mysterious. Even our Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets doesn’t possess too much information about it. Let alone us, even if you go and ask Grand Exalts, you won’t get much of a reply either.”

“Because even Grand Exalts do not dare to set foot in that place…”

Before long, Jian Chen bade farewell to the pavilion master before being sent off. He returned to the inn.

After Jian Chen’s departure, the vice master of the Pavilion of Heavenly Secrets, Liao Chen, suddenly appeared. He bowed towards the pavilion master politely before saying slowly, “Pavilion master, this is unprecedented, for someone’s emotions to actually be influenced by the Hole of Reincarnation. Is this potentially indicating that Jian Chen has a destiny with the Hole of Reincarnation?”

When he heard that, the pavilion master’s eyes suddenly narrowed. He understood Liao Chen. He understood that when Liao Chen said the word “destiny” in such a solemn manner, it definitely was not as simple as all the cultivators gathering outside the Hole of Reincarnation and gaining inspiration and comprehension from its changes.

“Keep going!” the pavilion master said. Actually, he already knew what Liao Chen was thinking.

Liao Chen sucked in a deep breath. After a moment of deliberation, he said, “The Hole of Reincarnation has existed for all these years. We have never heard of it affecting a person’s emotions. Jian Chen should be the first that we know of. As a result, I have a bold theory. Could Jian Chen be the second person after Daowei Chengqing who can enter the Hole of Reincarnation?”

The pavilion master shook his head and said, “Your theory is too crazy. Although there has never been an example of the Hole of Reincarnation influencing a person’s emotions, there have been many cultivators who have benefitted from the changes with the Hole of Reincarnation over the years. Do they also have a destiny with the Hole of Reincarnation?”

“You are right, pavilion master. I’ve been too brash with my conclusion. I shouldn’t make this conclusion so easily,” Liao Chen said shamefully.

“You are just too hopeful that a second destined person can emerge from the Hole of Reincarnation. The Hole of Reincarnation has existed for countless years. Even throughout history, Daowei Chengqing is the only one to emerge from there. For a second person to appear in such a short amount of time, just how slim are the chances?” The pavilion master sighed gently. “And, we don’t even know if there will be a second person who can emerge from the Hole of Reincarnation alive at all. Even if there is, I wonder if I’ll be able to witness it in my lifetime.”
