Chaotic Sword God

“I had specially prepared this cauldron of pills for Qing’er to let him establish the strongest foundation when he broke through to Immortal Exalt. Why did you destroy these pills…”

“You may have a grudge with the Master of Profound Secrets, but why did you have to harm Qing’er in the process? Even if you have a feud with the Master of Profound Secrets, couldn’t you choose another time? Couldn’t you wait until he had finished refining this cauldron of pills before you settled your grievance…” the Illusionary Ancestor murmured to herself softly.

Her expression changed rapidly, from fury to confusion and then helplessness. As a matter of fact, some regret would even flash over her face from time to time.

She had been too careless and too confident. Not only had she been too certain of the influence that the Master of Profound Secrets possessed, but she had also been too certain in the Waymight clan’s paramount authority that no one dared to defy. It was exactly because of this mindset that the Illusionary Ancestor thought that it would be perfectly safe to leave the Master of Profound Secrets to refine these pills. She thought that no one in the Immortals’ World would come after them.

An accident just ended up happening.

If she had known that something like this would happen sooner, she would have arranged some countermeasures here.

The four experts heard the Illusionary Ancestor’s mutterings, so they knew that she was aware of the murderer’s identity. Their curiosity was immediately piqued, so one of them asked carefully, “S-senior Illusionary Ancestor, may we ask who killed the Master of Profound Secrets and destroyed this cauldron of pills?”

“Our strength may be lacking, but we’re willing to serve senior Illusionary Ancestor like horses and assist senior Illusionary Ancestor in hunting down the culprit…”

“The four of us are willing to make up for our mistake. Even if our combined strength is almost insignificant, nowhere close to yours, we’re still willing to serve the Illusionary Ancestor with utmost loyalty…”

The Rushing Lightning Immortal Exalt, the Jade Lotus Master, and the Blood Butcher Immortal Exalt all spoke up.

“You… really are foolish. Even till now, you actually still don’t know who destroyed the pills. You’ve even seen this person with your own eyes. He’s no one else but Yang Yutian who entered the Azure Light Mountain under your watch.” The Illusionary Ancestor sighed.

“What? I-it’s Y-Y-Yang Yutian…” The four of them were stunned. Their faces were filled with disbelief.

Yang Yutian was the one who destroyed the Azure Light Mountain? The Immortal Emperor junior that they did not even take too seriously?

That was completely impossible!

“Looks like you still don’t know about what happened in the Skyscraping World, or you wouldn’t underestimate Yang Yutian like this.” The Illusionary Ancestor sighed. The news from the Skyscraping World had been contained far too well. None of the organisations that these four people originated from had disciples or descendants who had entered the Skyscraping World, so they were still clueless about the events that transpired there.

“I didn’t think that the person behind it all was actually Yang Yutian. Not only did he kill the Master of Profound Secrets, but he even destroyed crown prince Daowei Chengqing’s cauldron of pills. So much for showing him so much care. I didn’t think he’d actually be so despicable,” the Jade Lotus Master grumbled on the Illusionary Ancestor’s behalf.

“I won’t interfere with Yang Yutian’s matters in the future anymore. From now onwards, I have nothing to do with him,” the Illusionary Ancestor said emotionlessly. In the next moment, she vanished, having left the Jade’s End Heaven.

However, she did not travel very far away. Instead, she hovered near the Jade’s End Heaven, giving one final glance at the Azure Light Mountain with mixed feelings. She stared straight at the bottomless pit produced by the Divine Formation of the Heavens.

The destruction of the pills had originally left her radiating with killing intent. No matter who it was, even if it was the Sacred Beast clan, she would have never spared them. However, whenever Jian Chen’s figure crossed her mind, her killing intent that had erupted like a volcano would soften uncontrollably. She was simply unable to muster the will to go after Jian Chen.

Suddenly, the Illusionary Ancestor turned her gaze and looked at the outskirts of the Azure Light Mountain. On a mountain peak filled with people, a woman in simple clothes caught her attention.

On the surface, the woman’s presence was merely an Immortal Monarch’s, but the Illusionary Ancestor could tell with a single glance that she was a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

The woman was the first master of the Path of Truth and Illusion!

Apart from the first master of the Path of Truth and Illusion, there were two other hidden figures in two different directions that piqued the Illusionary Ancestor’s attention.

They were the Myriad Gold Ancestor of the Gold Yang sect and the Worldless Immortal Exalt of the Immortal Sect of Grand Unity.

The two of them were both Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts!

The Master of Profound Secrets’ cultivation might not have been close to the peak, but there were only a handful of people in the Immortals’ World who could match his mastery over the Way of Alchemy. Not only had he perished, but even the Azure Light Mountain had been destroyed, so this obviously led to quite an uproar in the Immortals’ World.

As a result, the first master of the Path of Truth and Illusion, the Myriad Gold Ancestor of the Gold Yang sect, and the Worldless Immortal Exalt of the Immortal Sect of Grand Unity had all gathered over when they heard the news.

The Illusionary Ancestor obviously knew these three experts had come for Jian Chen. However, the pills had been destroyed, so she could not be bothered with Jian Chen’s matters anymore.

In the next moment, the Illusionary Ancestor strode off into outer space. She vanished into the depths of the sea of stars, completely leaving this place.

The Illusionary Ancestor had departed, but the Myriad Gold Ancestor of the Gold Yang sect and the Worldless Immortal Exalt of the Immortal Sect of Grand Unity hidden nearby did not leave. They lingered near the outskirts of the Azure Light Mountain and constantly studied the surroundings as if they were confirming something.

“This really does seem similar to the damage caused by that formation.” The Myriad Gold Ancestor of the Gold Yang sect deliberated. He seemed to have an idea, but he was not very certain.

Shortly afterwards, he made up his mind and stopped hiding. The presence of a Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt expanded discreetly before arriving before the Jade Lotus Master in a single step.

When the Jade Lotus Master sensed the discreet presence that surpassed hers, her heart immediately tightened slightly. She was stern.

That was because on the Jade’s End Heaven, a Sixth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt was virtually invincible. No one could stop them.

However, when the Jade Lotus Master saw that it was the Myriad Gold Ancestor, she could not help but be taken aback. She clasped her fist amicably and smiled. “So it’s fellow Myriad Gold. I never thought that fellow Myriad Gold would travel so far to come here in person. Don’t tell me you’re also here to stand up against the injustice that befell the Master of Profound Secrets?”

“Fellow Jade Lotus, I was hoping that you could tell me everything that happened here.” The Myriad Gold Ancestor and the Jade Lotus Master were familiar with one another. After a simple exchange of pleasantries, he cut right to the chase.

As the Myriad Gold Ancestor spoke, an invisible force expanded out, enveloping him and the Jade Lotus Master, isolating everything.

Immediately, the Myriad Gold Ancestor and the Jade Lotus Master’s figures became blurry to everyone around them.

“Fellow Myriad Gold, you can’t be so selfish, as I also want to know everything that happened here.” The energy barrier that the Myriad Gold Ancestor set up was torn open, and the Worldless Immortal Exalt of the Immortal Sect of Grand Unity appeared silently.
