Chaotic Sword God

The Master of Profound Secrets liked to refine pills. The pills he refined encompassed various grades and types. Apart from God Tier pills, he would even regularly refine a whole heap of Immortal Tier pills.

The Master of Profound Secrets did not use the majority of the pills on himself, so they ended up circulating in the Azure Mountain City, becoming hot items desired by various organisations.

Various organisations of different sizes from across the Jade’s End Heaven would gather in the Azure Mountain City all year round. Their objective was very simple—to watch the various pills that came down from the Azure Light Mountain. Larger organisations that were a little more capable would pay attention to low and mid grade God Tier pills, while smaller organisations would direct their attention to various Immortal Tier pills.

The Master of Profound Secrets possessed an extremely great mastery over alchemy. Regardless of the pill, both its quality and effectiveness would be thirty percent higher if he refined it, yet they would be cheap as well. As a result, any pill from the Azure Light Mountain would be snatched up immediately regardless of the grade. Then it would be turned into various heavenly resources and delivered back to the Master of Profound Secrets.

This was all news that Jian Chen had learnt after arriving on the Jade’s End Heaven. He had already remained on the Jade’s End Heaven for almost half a month. He did not proceed to the Azure Light Mountain recklessly. Instead, he visited the various large cities of the Jade’s End Heaven and spent some resources gathering information through different avenues. Some of it was about the Master of Profound Secrets, while the other information was about the Skyscraping World.

It had already been several decades since the Skyscraping World shut its doors, but Jian Chen did not find any later reports regarding the Skyscraping World on the Jade’s End Heaven. Everything that occurred in the Skyscraping World had been contained by the two heavenly emperors, so news did not spread even until now.

As a matter of fact, even some of the peak organisations on the Jade’s End Heaven did not hear anything about the Skyscraping World.

“Since the news from the Skyscraping World has been so strictly contained, the Master of Profound Secrets shouldn’t know my identity,” Jian Chen looked at the bustling streets as he thought.

In the Skyscraping World, his disguise had already stopped being a secret. Basically everyone knew that the Thousand Immortal General Chang Yang from the Observance Heaven City, the sect master Jian Chen of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, and Yang Yutian from the Skyscraping World were the same person. If the Master of Profound Secrets found out he had connections with the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens, he would be more cautious. It might even lead to some unexpected accidents.

As a result, before he went to the Azure Light Mountain, Jian Chen needed to make all the preparations he could.

After all, many experts were secretly directing their attention towards the sovereign god artifacts on him.

At this moment, dark clouds suddenly loomed over the Azure Light Mountain in the distance. Violet lightning crackled between the clouds, erupting with thunder.

When the dark clouds appeared, all of the cultivators in the Azure Mountain City thousands of kilometres away felt tremendous pressure as if a mountain was weighing against their chests. It was suffocating.

“Another one of these lightning tribulations, just like a century ago…”

“The Master of Profound Secrets must be refining an impressive God Tier pill. He triggers a tribulation every century…”

“It is no wonder that there recently hasn’t been any pills from the Azure Light Mountain. So the Master of Profound Secrets is refining a peerless pill. I wonder how much longer he needs to complete it…”

“Some higher quality God Tier pills can take thousands or even ten thousand years to refine. The God Tier pill that the Master of Profound Secrets is refining right now is clearly not of low quality. Looks like there won’t be any other Immortal Tier pills from the Azure Light Mountain for a very long time into the future…”

Discussions arose throughout the Azure Mountain City as they gazed at the colossal tribulation clouds that enveloped most of the Azure Light Mountain. Many cultivators were filled with pity.

Suddenly, a terrifying pressure erupted from the Azure Light Mountain. As someone’s mighty cultivation surged, a colossal hand extended out from the depths of the Azure Light Mountain, striking the sky with devastating power.

When the hand appeared, countless cultivators in the Azure Mountain City narrowed their eyes. Their faces immediately turned sheet-white.

To them, the power of the hand was far too terrifying. Even if a wisp of its presence leaked out, it was enough to annihilate most of them.

Boom!

With a rumble, the hand of energy directly struck the tribulation lightning. The terrifying tribulation that was enough to make countless cultivators in the Azure Mountain City pale had been forcefully scattered by that attack.

Immediately, the space above the Azure Light Mountain twisted violently. Spatial cracks covered the entire sky before collapsing in fragments.

The sky over the Azure Light Mountain sank into temporary darkness. Only several seconds did the space stabilise and clear up once more.

The pressure dispersed. Many cultivators in the Azure Mountain City breathed a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted from their shoulders.

In the restaurant by the side of the street, Jian Chen gazed in the direction that the hand had vanished in. He had already recognised who it was. It was one of the four experts who had assisted the Master of Profound Secrets in dealing with the Starflame Demon Lion. He was the Ancient Virtue Immortal Exalt of the Immortal Courtyard of Four Sages on the Scholarly Attainment Heaven, a Fifth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalt.

At this moment, a man in black robes appeared before Jian Chen. He quietly communicated to Jian Chen, “Sect master, I’ve already searched through the entire Jade’s End Heaven. Apart from the native experts of the Jade’s End Heaven, I haven’t discovered any hidden presences for the time being.”

The man in black robes was the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt!

The Thousand Soul Demon Exalt then added, “Of course, due to my limited strength, this is all I can find. You can’t eliminate any foreign experts who’ve hidden themselves on the Jade’s End Heaven through exceptional methods.”

Jian Chen sat with his head lowered in thought for a moment before silently rising and making his way outside. He said to the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt, “Enter the Primeval Divine Hall and prepare the Divine Formation of the Heavens!”

“Yes, sect master!” Excitement flashed through the Thousand Soul Demon Exalt’s eyes. Shortly afterwards, he vanished silently. He had already entered the Primeval Divine Hall secretly.

Jian Chen left the Azure Mountain City. He changed his disguise into the face that the Master of Profound Secrets was familiar with before directly flying towards the mountain entrance on the Azure Light Mountain.

On the Jade’s End Heaven, the Master of Profound Secrets was someone who cared about his reputation very much. Any expert who visited the Azure Light Mountain, regardless of strength or background, had to enter by the main entrance. If they directly flew over the Azure Light Mountain without permission, it would be viewed as severe provocation.

Of course, this rule set up by the Master of Profound Secrets was only followed by organisations native to the Jade’s End Heaven and some foreign experts whose backgrounds were not too powerful. If a late Immortal Exalt directly flew over the Azure Light Mountain, the Master of Profound Secrets would simply ignore it.

Jian Chen came with hostile intentions, but he clearly did not want to displease the Master of Profound Secrets over a small detail like this, so he followed the rules and entered by the main entrance.

“Who is it? State your identity!” As soon as he approached the Azure Light Mountain, a medicinal page appeared. He possessed the cultivation of a Nine-heavenly Xuan Immortal, and he stared at Jian Chen haughtily.

The medicinal page seemed very young, but who knew how many years he had been cultivating for already.

“I am Yang Yutian. I’ve come to visit the Master of Profound Secrets!” Jian Chen clasped his fist. When he stated his name, he paid close attention to the medicinal page’s expression.

However, the medicinal page’s expression did not change at all as if he had never heard of Yang Yutian before. He waved his hand rather impatiently and said, “Can’t you see that the master is refining pills? When he’s refining pills, the master does not receive any guests. You should go. Don’t get in the way of the master refining his peerless pill.”

Jian Chen casually tossed out a tablet and said, “This is the tablet that the master gave to me.”

The page showed great disdain. “The master specially instructed beforehand that the pill he is refining this time is very important. He refuses to meet with anyone, even if they have a tablet.” That was what he said, but Jian Chen had already tossed his tablet over, so the page caught it subconsciously. Right when he was about to return the tablet to Jian Chen, he unintentionally glanced at the tablet.

It was just a casual glance, but when he truly saw the tablet, his eyes immediately narrowed violently. His heart began thumping uncontrollably.

The Master of Profound Secrets gave away many kinds of tablets. He gave away many tablets as well. As a result, there were plenty of people who possessed the Master of Profound Secrets’ tablets.

However, these tablets were also split into categories. For example, with owners of regular tablets, the page would not even bat an eye when he faced them. He could order them around.

However, the tablet that Jian Chen had produced was different; it was no regular tablet but one of the highest grade.

The page who was familiar with the Master of Profound Secrets knew extremely well that only special people that the Master of Profound Secrets believed could not be offended or possessed statuses so esteemed that even the Master of Profound Secrets had to treat carefully, had the right to receive these kinds of tablets.

Since Jian Chen possessed a tablet like that, the page obviously viewed him as a major figure that even the Master of Profound Secrets refused to offend.

As long as a major figure like that demonstrated even the slightest displeasure towards him in front of the Master of Profound Secrets, his life might meet its end. He would be mercilessly executed by the Master of Profound Secrets.

The page’s attitude immediately underwent a drastic turnaround. He became extremely polite. Cupping the tablet in both hands, he passed it back to Jian Chen and said fearfully, “It’s all my fault. I have been blind for failing to recognise such an important guest. Please give me the chance to right this wrong.”

“Can I enter the Azure Light Mountain?” Jian Chen stared at the page indifferently.

“Of course, of course you can. This way please, senior. I’ll lead you to the main hall right now!” The page politely invited Jian Chen onto the Azure Light Mountain. Very soon, he brought Jian Chen to a majestic hall.

Over a dozen pages were already waiting there. They seemed to have found out about Jian Chen’s esteemed status already. Every single one of them was extremely polite, serving various kinds of spiritual fruits in an orderly and careful manner.

“Senior, the master has specially warned us that the pill he’s refining this time is very important. He cannot afford to make any mistakes, and he is not to be disturbed by anyone. However, due to your special identity, senior, you obviously don’t fall under that rule. As a result, please wait here for a moment. I’ll contact the master immediately.”

“Then go!” Jian Chen waved his hand without any concern. However, he sighed inside. He knew that he only received this treatment due to the Illusionary Ancestor.

When he thought of the Illusionary Ancestor, Jian Chen felt very puzzled, as he did not know why the Illusionary Ancestor was so kind to him.

“Hahahaha, and I had been wondering why the refinement process had become so smooth recently. So it’s my friend Yang Yutian who’s come to the Azure Light Mountain, immediately turning it into a blessed land. Even this cauldron of ancient pills that I’m refining has become much easier…”

Jian Chen did not wait for long. The Master of Profound Secrets’ familiar voice rang out from outside. He had clearly only just come from the alchemy room. A fiery presence still lingered on him. Even his robes had faded slightly in colour from the heat.

With the Master of Profound Secrets’ arrival, the temperature in the cool hall immediately rose as if it had turned into a huge furnace.
